I have updated the post http://bitnavigator.info/?p=126, it contains a lot of insider information because I was both an attendee and some how staff of the event. feel free to ask questions.

the gallery has some pictures and the rest of the pictures are on http://twitter.com/bitnavigator

"feel free to ask any questions:

What were the big announcements?

Bruce on aug 14:
Quote
And the ANNOUNCEMENTS that are going to happen on Saturday.....   The Bitcoin World will be a-buzz.....

We decided for sure last night.  OnlyOneTV will be making a HUGE HUGE HUGE announcement at the Conference.   One you're all gonna be VERY excited about... when you hear it.  I can't say now.  It's a surprise.   But I will say it during my opening speech on Saturday morning.   :-)

Actually, we'll be announcing another super exciting thing at the Conference too.   I'm not really sure which one more people will be excited about.   Probably Both.   Both of these things will change the Bitcoin world immediately!

Oh, and those are only my OWN announcements...  I'm also privy to some major announcements to be made at the Conference by major vendors also.   They're gonna Rock your World too!!

What were they?

There's going to be future Conferences obviously, so there's gonna be

announcement 1
2012 NYC,
2012, Amsterdam
2012, Thailand (forgot the city)

announcement 2
then in 2013 there's going to be a cruise from Spain to Rio ( 17 days ), a 5 star Bitcoin Cruise since Bruce's friend apparently owns the largest travel agency in the world.

I wasn't too shocked about it since it's pretty far in the future, and you know how long that is in bitcoin time.

and oh here's the reddit thread. http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/jn6xe/bit_navigator_just_in_time_for_the_nyc_bitcoin/

Sounds like a plan for the global bitcoin conference  to turn into..  local meetups.

announcement 2
then in 2013 there's going to be a cruise from Spain to Rio ( 17 days ), a 5 star Bitcoin Cruise since Bruce's friend apparently owns the largest travel agency in the world.

Bruce has a friend who want's to make some money from bitcoiners?   Well I guess it may be fun for those bitcoin entrepreneurs who make a lot of coin by then and feel like having a party with some fellow bitcoiners.

I was surprised at how this whole conference thing seemed to be thrown together at short notice. Was onlyonetv worried someone else would host it and steal their limelight if they didn't go ahead with it immediately?
I do like what onlyonetv does in general...  but they did seem a bit dismissive of people's concerns pre-conference and seem to have rushed it all.
Hardly a snatch of live video when it's run by 'onlyonetv'.. wtf??

I'm disappointed they didn't arrange to have the Bitcoin ATM guy (Todd Bethell) on side and at the show. (was bitbills at least represented?)
Something physical and exciting like that would have been perfect to show the media.. as it is.. what are they going to report on?

Looking forward to more reports from community members anyway..  I'm sure it was a great opportunity to meet and share ideas.
Even if it is just a somewhat hyped meetup.. I'd love to attend some day.

We don't know what media outlets even showed up.

Shoot...

We need a real convention in a convention center. That way the public can enter off the street after saying "wtf is bitcoin?" when they see it on the jumbotron. We need the public to know about this. The more brains, the better.

So far this convention has been a HUGE success!
I have so many amazing conversations with so many amazing people.
After seeing first hand how many intelligent people are this excited and interested in Bitcoins,  I am even more sure that we are changing the world.

BTW,
Bitcoin ATM guy (Todd Bethell) is here and had a booth.
I've enjoyed some interesting conversations with him, and he is a very sharp guy as well.

His first ATM machines will be live in public locations in about a week.
If you know someone who has a location that can host a Bitcoin ATM,  please contact him!

A Bitcoin Cruise sounds like a more realistic way to get people from many countries together.    Also seems like an amusing movie to be made involving real life pirates raiding the boat only to find that they have to have a computer to redeem their booty.

Would have been nice to have a TED talks kind of deal where the speeches were taped and you could view them somewhere.

You think someone with a damn cell phone and a wordpress blog would have this going for the community by now.  The fact that no larger site is taking this simple task on amazes me.  I know I seen a live feed yesterday, or I thought I did.

Good to hear.  I really would have loved to have made it. I am just getting off an all night shoot and I'm in Queens so I don't know if it's possible to make it there since you're only going till 12pm today.  I have a nice 4G streaming setup from a laptop with livestream on http://blackout.com I coulda put up.  Are you guys still going to O'Crepes?  I think I am closer to that.  In any case it seems a lot is happening for bitcoin.  I look forward to seeing some of the interviews and next time getting involved earlier.

No more energy reserves (three long projects back to back no sleep till Brooklyn).  Thanks for being hospitable though I am sure I will catch up with you guys sooner or later.  I'm definitely rooting for bitcoin and I'm not one of you major players I didn't get on the boat early enough but I just like freedom in general and the entire idea of it.  I'm going to try and do a fun segment and use my humor site to bring bitcoin to my audience in layman's terms it's still currently too geeky for regular people to get it  or use and is mostly adopted by the geek or stock trader crowd. I see this changing though with some modifications to the client and online services and a little less manipulation by the massive coin holders and some more easy tools for 'regs' (regular people) it will really hit the hot seat.

I do various characters and shows on awareness and not being a sheeple, liberty.. but I'm not the Alex Jones type, I'm more a comedian / actor / host / film maker with a production company. I like to bring messages subtly like this

(sorry if you're a mac person)
