Title: SatoshiOption stole my bitcoin!
Post by: nighttrader on December 25, 2013, 04:57:30 PM
I deposited 0.015btc into SatoshiOption betting that the price of BTC would be lower 60s after deposit. The transaction never showed up in the recent transaction logs. I would have won the trade(0.021btc) but instead SatoshiOption took my money.

Here is a picture of the recent transactions:
https://i.imgur.com/NH1HXSd.jpg

And the transaction of the deposit I made
https://blockchain.info/tx/c6072a13efd3e8f40f70aefc81b44f72c9989d2bd6d4a1606a55551a211d321c

The timestamp of the transaction can be correlated to price showing that I would have won the trade

StshiOption please make things right with me.

I'm a newbie so I can't pm stshiOption (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=85387) if someone else could point him to this thread I'd very much appreciate it.

Hi there,

Very sorry for the delay - we've now refunded your money along with a 10% tip for your troubles.

https://blockchain.info/tx/1f6d0ce33d2503aa072a9f90fca4934d6e7d58f1f81e72e7e5a72d066cb5e111

We suspect this was caused by a blockchain connection outage on our worker, which happened to correspond with the time you placed your bet. We've since improved the reconnection logic - any transactions which were missed during an outage will now be automatically refunded.

Thanks, and sorry again!

SatoshiOption

Bit of a mystery this one - our logs show the blockchain connection as healthy. We've refunded the money anyway:

We'll monitor this thread for any more problems.

OP: If you'd kindly add [solved] to the title when you get the chance, we'd be grateful!

Hi masterbobin,

Yes we can refund the two transactions which our worker failed to pick up, but before I do, did you deposit these from your own personal wallet which supports reverse tx? I don't want to gift the money to MtGox or similar!

Which leads me on to the successful withdrawal: was this sent from an exchange? If so you'll need to check with whoever owns the address the initial deposit came from. The withdrawal was sent out to that address, and is irreversible.

I can provide the private key of your SatoshiOption wallet if this is required for proof of ownership. Sorry, and good luck.

SatoshiOption

We've now refunded the two 0.1btc transactions which were missed.

We're working on getting you your private key for the other wallet - this isn't trivial though as they are stored encrypted in our database, so we need to write the routine to display these in standard importable format. We'll keep you updated.

Thanks for your patience!

Satoshi Option is a binary trading website that uses Bitcoin.

A binary trading website is where you trade commodities (currencies, stocks, gold, oil, etc.) for money. In this case, the money you're trying to make is Bitcoin.

Sent some btc to place a "trade". "Trade" never appeared on the site (would`ve won *YAY*), no "automatic" refund was given, sent from my blockchain wallet.
What a shame, was really looking forward to this
