Title: QuadrigaCX ATM Launch Event @ Bitcoin Retail Building Post by: The Bitcoin Co-op on December 29, 2013, 08:35:47 AM In the heart of Gastown near the old Steam Clock, QuadrigaCX lies at the center of what we hope to be Vancouver's first Bitcoin retail center. Your friendly host has embarked on a campaign to convert as many local businesses as possible, starting with those within 332 Water Street. Negotiations are underway with multiple parties already, and BTC-accepting businesses--all of whom will be ready for you to see at the event--will be announced as they come.
QuadrigaCX was Canada's first physical exchange to trade both Bitcoin and Litecoin, having already processed $800,000 worth of cryptocurrency and acquired $1.2 million in the first round of investment. The directors, Co-op members with over 10 years of experience in the e-currency industry, have big plans for Vancouver and abroad: they are about to bring us a second Bitcoin ATM, a Lamassu model capable of selling bitcoins at a cheap rate. It becomes operational at a date soon to be announced in early January, and will connect to Quadriga's online trading platform. • QuadrigaCX is one of the sponsors of CoinFest, and intends to ship Lamassu ATMs all over the world. Easily-portable, the Lamassu will be kept at their office on its opening day to showcase to the public. Inquire for bulk Bitcoin/Litecoin deals! • Water Street Tattoo is (as you might expect) a tattoo parlour at 332 Water Street! Starting with this event, they will now accept Bitcoin using the Co-op's POS, and your host will get a Bitcoin tattoo on the spot. Come see for yourself! • The Smokers Corner is a glassware and smoke shop. They will take Bitcoin here and at dozens of locations across western Canada using the Co-op's POS system. Tell them how much you would love to see a Bitcoin-themed piece at CoinFest! • Revolver is not inside 332 Water Street, but it is only a couple blocks away, and will accept Bitcoin using the POS when this event starts thanks to Joseph Malone. It is also a relatively-popular cafe in Gastown (some might call it "hipster"), and big news for Bitcoin adoption. Try a peanut butter burger! This has turned out to be the case, and hence the date of this event is being pushed back. I will use the extra time to prepare even more fun surprises for launch day--a prelude to the CoinFest to come. Be excited for Bitcoin in Q1 2014.
