Title: Project QikFury - prototype v1 Bitfury H-Boards in action Post by: goxed on December 30, 2013, 11:29:06 AM This was just a fun project to quickly cobble together working h-boards using Bitfury chips and blank h-boards. Each board uses a modded ISL8225M eval board regulator (0.84V), 16 chips and 16 capacitors and was hand soldered in 2hr.

Right now there are no chips in stock :( 1BTC i buy ;D Title: Re: Project QikFury - prototype v1 Bitfury H-Boards in action Post by: goxed on December 31, 2013, 12:14:34 AM nicely hacked together! Its amazing how simple the bitfury design is that without the need to convert 12V->0.9V the board is practically empty save for a few capacitors and the chips these ASICs are highly integrated :). The only PITA is debugging a really dead chip in the chain. Interested when you are ready to sell. Will you possibly sell it as a kit for the end user to do the soldering themselves? I'm no EE but I can float a chip. Title: Re: Project QikFury - prototype v1 Bitfury H-Boards in action Post by: Hechay on January 01, 2014, 07:10:33 PM PERFECT! NOTHING TO SAY!

Will you possibly sell it as a kit for the end user to do the soldering themselves? I'm no EE but I can float a chip. I could sell it as a kit. (PCB + chips + assembled regulator+ 8 heatsinks). Mounted PCBs will cost ~ 60-80USD more. Lets see when the chips are back in stock. Title: Re: Project QikFury - prototype v1 Bitfury H-Boards in action Post by: coinmuse on January 05, 2014, 03:38:57 PM Love this hack. Let me know if you make some for sale. I have a couple non-working boards I could try this on.
Title: Re: Project QikFury - prototype v1 Bitfury H-Boards in action Post by: goxed on January 06, 2014, 09:47:29 AM so what does this do ? Well I had a few empty slots to fill in my starter kit, and a month and half ago H-boards went OOS, and the only thing one could buy were chips. This is the result.Title: Re: Project QikFury - prototype v1 Bitfury H-Boards in action Post by: goxed on January 06, 2014, 09:48:15 AM Love this hack. Let me know if you make some for sale. So do you want to use chips from non-working h-boards on a new H-board?Title: Re: Project QikFury - prototype v1 Bitfury H-Boards in action Post by: goxed on January 06, 2014, 09:50:08 AM Badass - Where can you get the blank PCBs? I got them manufactured through advancedcircuits as well as oshpark. The oshpark pcb's look dandy but are 0.5ounce Cu. If chips are available for sale in Feb, I will get more boards made.Title: Re: Project QikFury - prototype v1 Bitfury H-Boards in action Post by: coinmuse on January 07, 2014, 05:33:44 AM Love this hack. That's awesome! Let me know if you can make some boards for me I have BITFURY chips coming soon, any day now supposedly.
