Title: Milk Crate Overheating?
Post by: ibrahim11 on December 30, 2013, 08:40:30 PM
Will 2 gpu's (Sapphire 7950 and MSI 280x) overheat in a milk crate? I am asking because building an aluminium rig is too expensive. Thanks

I really find goat milk to be much better than cow milk, although cat milk is the best. It is a bitch catching them though

I'd imagine you should just check it every few hours as it gets going and see if it's ok.  I could see milk crates melting so I'd keep an eye on it.  Like putting plastic in the microwave...

Theres ways to make stands, go your local arts and crafts store, get a stick of wood, mind you they are spherical in shape and use that on your mobo. If you need more info, I can help.

"I had no idea you could milk a cat!"

"Oh, you can milk just about anything with nipples."

"I have nipples, Greg, could you milk me?"

You don't need a fancy-smancy aluminum rig, all you need is a bit of wood and some nails. Milk crates are fine too, if you're having an issue you can always cut some holes in them.

Aluminium was cheap. The bloody connectors were expensive. Alotogether including the VAT and £10 delivery it was £63 with 1m spare aluminium tubing :D And it was pre-cut so i just have to put it together :D

With the large 3D-printing and BTC community crossover, I'm surprised I've never seen anyone selling printed cases/benches. Are the plastics too soft? -Or would it be cost-prohibitive? (3D printing newb)

I think with the current high cost of plastic filament building something that was sturdy would not be cost effective.
If i had access to one I would defiantly try it though ...

I built mine from this guide, the links are all way expensive but you can find cheaper versions of all the stuff.
