The law that made it illegal to melt currency was passed in 1967, all currency produced before 1967 is legal to melt down. Yes you guys caught me red handed trolling in this thread. I know that these are pre-1967 and should be ok to melt. The illegal time was pre 1967 and even then people were hoarding melting them down.
