Title: [ANN] [NEX] Nxt Reimagined
Post by: FrictionlessCoin on January 04, 2014, 01:01:47 PM
Gentlemen,

We are developing an entirely new crypto currency that is a combination of ideas culled from several recent papers in the field.   These papers specifically are:

http://arxiv.org/abs/1304.4758 "Bitcoin and Beyond: Exclusively Informational Monies"

Which provides a general treatment of Bitcoin like currencies.

http://matt.singlethink.net/projects/mpotr/oldblue-draft.pdf  "OldBlue: Causal Broadcast In A Mutually Suspicious Environment"

Which provides a generalized algorithm for consensus is a adversarial environment.

http://www.bitfreak.info/files/pp2p-ccmbc-rev1.pdf "Purely P2P Crypto-Currency With Finite Mini-Blockchain"

Which provides a proposal for a bounded block chain.

http://eprint.iacr.org/2013/881.pdf "Accelerating Bitcoin's Transaction Processing"

Which provides a mechanism to support transactions in the order of seconds.

If you have an interested in helping in the following areas:

  • Specification of Protocol
  • Implementing the Code
  • Developing of Test Scenarios
  • Simulation

I don't understand why you call it new, when you said it is only a fork:

Ok... let me conjure up an agenda since you seem hell bent on finding one.  I am creating a NXT fork.

NXT was written by a gang of amateurs.

Furthermore,  their motivations are questionable considering they released to the public a system that has not been vetted.

That kind of irresponsibility is clearly unacceptable in my book and can be considered gross negligence.

Possible launch dates ?

This is an experimental platform,  so don't expect to see any kind of buy-in for this.

There's a lot of interesting stuff that we would like to be able to test out.

Please call it another name, not TNG. Useless or ugly one

Well any suggestions on a name?

Right now, it isn't even a coin yet.

First there's a specification that needs to be put together.

Then there's a brand new implementation.

The idea however is to be able to build a platform for rapid experimentation of new coin features.

These potentially can indeed spawn out new coins.

There is a $20,000 bounty for the mini-block chain implementation, so possibly this could implement that and receive the bounty.

So at this moment you have nothing.  ???

We don't accept coins.

Only time and effort.

Made good progress over the weekend.

We are ready to begin implementation of the mini-block chain scenario combined with the GHOST protocol.

Furthermore,  we will validate if the OldBlue specification is preserved for this implementation.

Exciting times folks!

So this is the MAIN development thread, FC ?
It's a little bit busy for my tastes, I'll come back when it's quieter.

Is this project still on? Have your plans changed since the source code has been published? Or is it dead?

Yes, project still on going.  Development had slowed down a bit because of developers other commitments.  But the architecture is quite promising and unique.

What about coin distribution ? How can people get in stakeholder list?

That's nice to hear. Are there no developers available/intersted in your project or haven't you just asked around?

We have not solicited for developers here on BTT.

If developers aren't finding the time to develop the coin what assurance do we have that they will stay on to support the coin after launch.  This doesn't sound that promising to me.

The one thing that makes projects like Bitshares and Etherium so promising is that developers have made the project their full time job.  I know that's probably not possible in the case of NEX, but to say they have other commitments and development has slowed down makes me rethink my Nxt allocation or support after launch.  I'm looking forward to your response.

Developers are very expensive these days.  Once the coin is launched there would be plenty more funds for this.

Hey jake, dont worry about that in the first place - there are no developers.

this "project" (or shall I say text) is a one-man thing by a Carlos Perez (frictionlesscoin)... he was debunked a hundred times here in the forum and is known troll. I would not fall for this

best regards

There really is nothing to fall for yet as he hasn't asked for any donations or funding.
