OK, I took 20 coins from coinedup, they are the exchange that often add new coins first,  I left out some of the older coins that have already been established, like DOGE for example, and I wanna hear which coin(s) you think are going to make it. You can vote for maximum 3 coins

Yes alot of folks are going to vote for the coin(s) they are holding, but still that gives an indication of the trust folks have in that coin

coined up has removed the MOON/BTC market, (they still have a MOON/LTC and MOON/DOGE market up,) and MOON is not getting a lot of votes here, Does not look good for MOON in my opinion

There are many disqualification criterias:

Coins with no future because of no motivation to mine (ridiculously lowering block reward to 0): QQC, VEL (and another, all coins where the reward halves every week or day are dead)

Coins with slow transactions (litecoin clones or artifical "bitcoins" in scrypt): RPC, CAT and similar

Coins with broken retarget (coins which retarget tooo slowly and transaction time gets to infinite): RPC, CAT, all litecoin clones

Coins with stupid or inserious name: COINEE, MEOW, VEL, etc., maybe all memecoins in general

+ non technical criteria like: Coins with no development, Coins with no community...

If you go one point after one, you will notice that there are really not too many coins left...


And yeah, i am mining EAC as hell to compensate the ones which i sold when they reached 800-900 satoshi to pay my bills. Of course, i mined 8 other coins too, but only for instant sell until they have had any value. And due to the points which i have written, i never have seen any of these sold coins to grow up after i sold them (except doge, it has fallen a bit later). The only real chance to grow again has the coin which will not suffer from any disqualifying illness...

I noticed 0 votes so far for Nyancoin  Incacoin and Opensourcecoin , these 3 coins dead already ?

I have only put new altcoins up that are on an exchange, as far as I know etoken is not (yet) on an exchange, if I am incorrect let me know and I will add it to the poll.

It may be young so probably not quite ready for this vote as they aren't even on the exchanges yet but I do think NOBLE (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=402667.0) has a good future, its had one of the most stable launches I've seen lately (/ever??? lol) and if it keeps going along the path its currently on I'm fairly confident it'll get past the 6 month mark :D

I went for EAC and LOT, both have a strong backing and have shown strong resolve as they hit their 'growing pains' period, if they manage to keep the supporters rallied for another month or so I think they will both be on course to hit that 6 month mark... time will tell I guess!

I voted EAC with a lack of NOBLE.

EAC looks good, but NOBLE looks better! Go check it out, no exchange yet, but low difficulty at the moment with a very active and transparent dev. Something we deffinitely need in these days of crypto pump n dump.

They seem to have the best dev team/community of any alt I've seen. Combine that with a great marketable name, the best branding in crypto IMO, and a community that is active and actually producing useful things and EAC is my 'dark horse' bet for 2014 for sure.

I think EZCoin is gonna make it. But it's not in the list.

Honestly a lot of them. The question is, how much will be the value of those coins.

Look at TIPS/CAGE/BIL they are worthless (at least at the moment!), the question would be 'Who will become the next LTC/NMC?", and then you will only answer a few, but all those coins will life for more then 6 months.

EAC will die nearly, its only a clone with no innovation like 100 other coins too.

I like em both, QQC and EAC with its strong promotion team and support, but QQC is new, quick transaction and confirmation, save my videocards from overheating (mining with ASIC scrypt protected algorythm, called scrypt-jane, and t falls from 85C to 62C) and without any premining or instamine... and it gaining popularity almost without dev support, just because its cool... i vote for QQC, and will support it, its future of cryptocurrencies and innovative.

The coins with no premine will make it first, the rest will follow suit. The coins without dev support will die.

it's 2 % premine... they are paying people who write apps and the EAC/USD exchange from that

also they have an actual team behind the coin... money does not grow on trees. and 2% for making sure people are actually working for their 2% to be valuable and stay valuable, is a good deal for miners and users of EAC

it seems pretty much obvious that there is EAC and then nothing for a long time and then the rest...

especially if you'd use crypto in the real world as payment you need fast transaction times...

and EAC has 10-20 seconds max.

all other coins are much much slower.

Earthcoin is technical not innovative, that is true. But they are the first coin (?) which
- uses strong marketing from the beginning
- premined officially. They had the 2% as reward in the first block and announced the premine.

If I create a coin, I would use 1-2% premine, too. This is the better way to do it than just hoping, that the community will make it for free.

You missed the Betacoin. But i guess this cryptocurrency is out of competition since it will rule them all anyway :)

The coin only altcoin that came out during the last few months that I see a future for is Gridcoin. Their unique mining protocol together with a passionate community and some great devs really give this coin a huge advantage over any other Litecoin or Bitcoin clones.

Many people are holding few altcoins at once. Also, based on how many coins were gived away, DIME would be the one and only winner, but...

already adressed this point, when people hold a coin, it means they have faith in this coin, so that is an indication of the succes of a coin, if people get paid to vote for a coin, that means there is an active team behind that coin promoting it and spending resources on it, so that good for the coins future also and no it not a complete list of all altcoins, made it very clear in the first post, this a list of the new altcoins that have recently hit an exchange.

Interesting thread. Shows sympathy for new coins. For now we have: Eac, Bil and QQC.
Only those 3 coins is really popular now - so maybe is worth to invest. :)
I think all 3 will have succees and will hit bigger exchanges.

the real problem with QQC is the associations younger people (who'd be the bulk of new crypto users) have with "QQ"

I've been told in China it is very different and has another meaning. this would explain the bad spelling and grammar of all the QQ defenders that are calling me a liar...

but QQcoin would just make reddit and so on pile on the ridicule....

plus: QQ's whole point is speed, and EAC is actually faster...

Yeah QQcoin has a terrible name. No way it can catch on based on that alone. I think they idea was to make it like QQ, the e-currency that got quite popular in China, but they should have done their homework. No one who spends any time online is going to buy or trade in a coin called "QQ". They might as well have called it #FailCoin

I used to play an online game and it was full of people using QQ instead of ^.^ or :-)   i think its a location based smiley (the game was a chinese/korean based game i believe)

I know. GME bee around for a long while, and that was my second coin I ever mined after I got my feet wet with BBQ. Problem is there is a few multi pools that come in and rape the coin fast and dump it on the exchanges, making it really under valued, and makes a lot of people ( my self included ) not to mine it due to the dif/return on the coin. Its funny you can be chugging away on it and as soon as the dif drops all of a sudden the network hash rate goes up 200 mh lol.

it is pretty much always the other way round: if people do not know what you are talking about, or do not believe you, THEN you quote the dictionary.

It's almost in 100% agreement that any coin named "QQcoin" will fail due to it's horrible name alone.  Those developers really must be dumb as a potato.

There is a 100 new ones every day due to people trying to pump a lot of the coin then dump them.

I like EAC and voted for it, but after I did better research of altcoins market, I think this poll misses the most interesting coins. For example my favorite one - NXT - that is not one of many litecoin clones, but a really revolutionary payment system, that is not a fork at all. It will definitelly last longer then litecoin copies with different icons)
