Title: Is the Bitcoin market going to collapse?
Post by: EditorX on May 20, 2018, 05:40:30 AM
My opinion is that in time Bitcoin market share will keep reducing, as many other coins and tokens and platforms will keep surging.

In the long term, the blockchain technology is very disruptive. Bitcoin will more likely compete with Gold, Ethereum will provide a backbone for many uses.

So I am not really sure a collapse is incoming, it depends if a real bubble will quickly form.

translation: "I think bitcoin will collapse because billions of shitcoins are being created and then pumped."

and you are wrong, just because a lot of shitcoins are being created each with billions of useless tokens as their supply and then they are pumped it doesn't mean bitcoin will be affected at all. what you are calling the "market share" is a fake illusion that you are creating for yourself based on a false attribute called "market cap". it doesn't mean anything at all. it just shows how many shitcoins are out there.
there is 17 million bitcoin versions 1,000,000 billion shitcoins in circulation which is growing every day.

Bitcoin will more likely compete with Gold,
bitcoin and gold are not in the same race to compete with each other.

Ethereum will provide a backbone for many uses.
ethereum used to provide only one thing and that was smart contracts. now bitcoin also has that in a much better way and that makes ethereum obsolete...

I just observe that every time there is a price down trend many posts or subject for posting are saying and asking the same line as this " Is bitcoin going to collapse?" well people needs to understand that since the beggining of bitcoin up to now it has been struggling in the past 9 years but it stayed and dominated. If in time it will collapse then i think it will take a life time to do so. With the advent of technology and the impact of block chain it will continue to evolve into a more better platform to serve nations and people. This price down trend is just normal, we had lower price in the market than this february this year was 6k infact. We have to remember that bitcoin started out to be of no value in the market but it has proven its worth and now against all those negative propaganda it continues to dominate in the cryptocurrency industry and it will continue to become better.

i could see bitcoin dominance continuing to trend downwards over the long term. the proliferation of new shitcoins adds to that effect, and market cap is inherently misleading for crypto. i could also see bitcoin remaining #1 forever (and i believe it will). those scenarios aren't mutually exclusive. ;)

anyway, why do you think ETH will have such great utility, but BTC won't? the time of BTC smart contracts, LN and sidechains is upon us. the time for ETH hyping seems long over....

bitcoin and gold are not in the same race to compete with each other.

no? if bitcoins are a store of value, then i suppose they are.

Bitcoin is marketcap is continuously down so you are confused in Crypto market. The real reason is some illuminaties are creating the negative rumours in Bitcoin so many peoples are drop the investment at the same time some new projects are suddenly huge pump in the market so some big whales also involve in the current gradient but everything is recover soon now we should hold for our investment.

You are wrong in thinking, you do not see all the components that exist at this time. It should be with these circumstances that bitcoin market can grow very well. Bitcoin still gets the support and trust that many of the various components of society.

Think that Bitcoin is a necessity and I'm sure everyone thinks that way.

I will say the opposite will happen. In 5 years or so the majority will have realized that Blockchain itself isn't the cure for every problem companies are facing today.
Altcoins exist since 2011. And so far none of them have delivered anything. Ethereum, around since 2015, is just a platform for scammy ICOs and crypto kiddies. And the hype was HUGE!!!
Imo this will be like a "the winner takes it all" situation. With lightning network, Bitcoin will be cheap, fast and much more private. Smart contracts are possible too.
Of course Bitcoin can not and will not be used for all. And that'S fine. But right now, 95% of the altcoins are pure vaporware and scams. Therefore I'm sure Bitcoin's market share and dominance will increase again.
I mean look how altcoins from 2013 are performing now, if they're still around!

the bitcoin market is unlikely to collapse, man. as far as i know that could make the market collapse is like, regulators tightened, concerns that tightening the regulator will bring a negative impact and will encourage a massive selling action continues to occur. Correction can also cause it to happen, CEO of Cryptocurrency-wallet eido, Thomas Farms says that the biggest factor that will make the market collapse is overheat and most obviously is expecting a lot on votatility.
but I do not think the bitcoin market is likely to collapse if there are still many traders and investors using it.

a couple of weeks ago i saw another one of these screenshots of the old days with the same list of "TOP10" coins but with the different coins from a different time. and the interesting thing that can be seen from these types of historical changes in the list is that at each of these specific times there has been a coin among them to claim to take over bitcoin and they stayed in top10 for a while and then evaporated eventually as they could no longer stand the dumps...

People just need to accept that Bitcoin won't be going anywhere, and that altcoins don't even remotely form a threat. Eventually when the ICO and quick gain hype dies off, all this nonsense will end and their market caps will deflate to absolute bottom levels. All that capital belongs in Bitcoin and not in whatever random trash coin or token not doing anything. It all comes down to how immature the overall market is, and that will definitely change.

Once all these knuckleheads sold their coins to smart parties the game will change. It's already happening, which clearly shows how massive the gap between small holders and large holders has become, especially after the massive correction. Result in the end is that the elite holds 99% of the coins and the stupid 1%. Keep selling and you will all see how things evolve. :D

I think there is not enough name recognition for altcoins to dominate this year, but maybe next year Ethereum or some centralized crypto from Wallstreet or Facebook will start to dominate the market by offering widespread infrastructure for retail merchants.

I think for now it is hard to predict if bitcoin will be going to collapse because bitcoin is unpredictable.
Honestly, altcoin helps bitcoin a lot because they are promoting their project but they are accepting bitcoin as payment that is why investors keep buying bitcoin then invest in altcoin that is why the price of bitcoin is kept increasing.

i agree with you mate..it is a vice versa relationship.Investors use bitcoin to buy altcoins so some of altcoins price goes up because of the demands and at the same time bitcoin price goes up too because investors used more bitcoins to be used in buying altcoins making bitcoins rise their price because of the demands

It is very hard to predict about the future. We dont know what is going to happen in future. But in the case of bitcoin it is not happen that is botcoin will not get colapsed. Because bitcoin will be the number one cryptocurrency as of now. There are so many trustworthy coins available now. Most of them are genuine some are not. Eventhough no other coins would beat bitcoin price. Many investors are investing in bitcoin so in future bitcoin will not colapse.

And I do believe it will do it again because no one should underestimate bitcoin's potentials because it is unpredictable, not to mention that now it is encountering many issues and most of governments are fighting against it. When those issues go away, Bitcoin will rise.

I doubt if bitcoin will ever compete with Gold or Ethereum or even any other cryptocurrency. Most people keeps on saying and seeing this happens but I still have my doubts. It might with Gold to an extend but with Ethereum,  I don't think it will ever happen.  Though, any cryptocurrency that has a better thing to offer than bitcoin might threaten the position of bitcoin. But it won't still happen.

Technically speaking, only Ethereum managed to differentiate itself from the massive crowd of altcoins. There are a few other coins doing relatively well, but none of them hit a market as hard as Ethereum.

If we look at the old-school altcoins, they all have ended pretty bad in terms of their value. Only Litecoin managed to keep holding up its ratio against Bitcoin. I am fairly sure that current altcoins and tokens will end exactly like that.

There just isn't any need for that many coins. They don't contribute to anything other than allowing pump and dump schemes to use them occasionally as get rich quick tool, and that's the hard reality.

It is true that everything is possible in crypto currency because sometimes it is look like a bubble, and then weak hands are on the market, whales are there to control the price, government are opposing it, and media is also making their contribution. One of them sometimes may the cause of the crash of price of bitcoin but it doesn't mean that it can lead us to the conclusion that bitcoin market will collapse because through one of them to is the reason why bitcoin always recover. By the ways the growth rate already collapsed mate since the price touch down 10k value.  And in my view there will be no another huge dump on this circumstances which is it will stay above 8k and it will not go further. And perhaps after moth of may it will rise again IMO. because there's no worst situation occurs to cause more dump in the market. so perhaps it will stabilize again after or before end of month.

LOL. You mean shitcoins will just keep surging exponentially and sustainable? The last time I checked bitcoin is still the number 1 coins and there's no one close to it regarding the price. And those so called "Flippening" and "Rippening", must to the dismay of some of its proponents. If you see that altcoins markets share are increasing, it means that it is being pump hard, and you will what's coming, because later those coins will just be dumped and investors shifting to bitcoin market again. And even if another bubble form and burst, it will again bounce back. Rinse and Repeat.

I believe that bitcoin dominance is currently massive undervalued.

It's almost like the gold:silver ratio right now, just like silver is massive undervalued compared to gold, bitcoin is undervalued compared to the rest of the crypto market. A lot of people are flooding to new projects with absolutely no understanding of what they are practically going to address. And most of these newer projects are going to be replaced with even newer ones in the future, while bitcoin remains the only real long term asset in crypto.

BTC isn't going anywhere in the long run. In fact, it'll be the best long term crypto to hold, and history has demonstrated that. The fact that bitcoin is the most widely adopted, practically used, and simply the first crypto to exist, means that it's intrinsically more valuable, and trusted by many more people. I think bitcoin dominance in the long run should probably belong at least in the 60-80% region, which right now, isn't even 40% which is ridiculous.

The market share of bitcoin has been reduced in an artificial way, there are many forks and some of them very big like bitcoin gold that has reduced the dominance in the market of cryptocurrencies, but also there are many new coins that appear and then disappear after a while that also reduce the dominance of bitcoin in the market, if the bubble really collapses all of the weak coins are going to disappear not the strongest coin in the market.

If this question is answered in affirmative then we can then conclude that bitcoin is dead. I wonder the number of times that we have read e, before I joined the forum and long after I have joined the forum. Times without number threads likes this have been opened and discussed. The outcome of everything is that, whether its an increase in price or decrease in price, it is temporal at least into the foreseeable future but we panicked because we are more comfortable with positives than the negatives.

Maybe they concentrate too much on coinmarketcap.com ;D. I still do not know why a lot of people use the general market cap as a fundamental for anything at all. I would not blame them though as over time, they will get to know how irrelevant that seems to be and judging based on shitcoins available in the whole ecosystem like the OP said, will obviously not be affecting the value of bitcoin in anyway. As long as people stop putting too much relevance on altcoin having effect on bitcoin, I bet the altcoin stupidity will halt a bit.

Bitcoin will remain number one on the cryptocurrency market. Even if there will be a coin that will be more dominant than Bitcoin it will not affect Bitcoin price.
Bitcoin is far more established and as long as it is not stagnant with development, I do not see how some altcoin that is just popping up, most especially those ones who are clone and thinking they can do better will end up surpassing bitcoin in anyway. Some with real life product may have a demand for them in the long run, but competing with bitcoin or using present dominance to judge the state of the future like the OP did is just insane.

A collapse will not be going to happen as alts will surely going to be dragged down together with the bitcoin price collapse. corrections, dumps and occasional crashes are most likely going to happen in the present and future but with the current support and its strong community that would be likely to be a conspiracy theory for now, remember in the past history of its price and its crashes you will see how many times it survives from them and how the price grows constantly.

I think the number of current crypto coins can not have a significant effect on bitcoin growth, bitcoin is the foundation of crypto and bitcoin will not collapse easily.

I guess you are wrong on this. As bitcoin market goes down or keeps on reducing, these platforms, tokens or altcoins will not surge. Why? They'll share bitcoin's loss.
So I am not really sure a collapse is incoming, it depends if a real bubble will quickly form.
Bubble form or not, we're done with this term as even before when bitcoin is just on $1,000 there are too many speculations that it is a bubble. And whether bitcoin's about to collapse, it will eventually established and recover from that collapsion.

The real white of bitcoin does not say that it will be a store of value alone, it is primarily a currency that can be traded world wide and that is the biggest strength of bitcoin than the rest of the said altcoins and if that happens it can compete with the rest of the markets.

Title: Re: Is the Bitcoin market going to collapse?

The market share of bitcoin has been reduced in an artificial way, there are many forks and some of them very big like bitcoin gold that has reduced the dominance in the market of cryptocurrencies, but also there are many new coins that appear and then disappear after a while that also reduce the dominance of bitcoin in the market, if the bubble really collapses all of the weak coins are going to disappear not the strongest coin in the market.
Dubious or not, nothing is going to change the way the market is in the long run as there is a lot of potentials for this market and collapsing is the last thing we will ever get to see at all. Government regulations however is making some people skeptical as how that would end up being the fate of bitcoin, but the truth is for now, no one knows, and regulation to me should bring more good than harm and it is not like it will end up changing the decentralized protocol anyway.

No, that would mean collapse of all cryptocurrency industry. On in the opposite, it is only the beginning.
But if alts can survive and raise in rates while BTC would decline, that can be a great shift
Market capitalization can reduce at any time based on money flow and that cannot be used to depict the state of the future of a market. The same way it flowed out is the same way it can flow in at any time. Bitcoin getting a huge drop in price will simply affect the alts as well and in that case, some alts may end up getting badly beaten out of the market eventually, and probably will be the end of all the shit coins.

Well first of all, never say never. We don't know what circumstances can happen in the future that can cause a market collapse though i agree that it's highly unlikely at this point. More and more people and even businesses are getting into crpyto, accepting bitcoin and other alts for transactions. The value may and will fluctuate to drastic lows but a complete collapse probably is farfetched

The bitcoin market does not collapse. a preliminary market. this is not a very simple thing. but it would be better if it was moving now. this speed is too low. and does not meet our expectations. Although the investments seem to be harmless, we are losing time...
Bitcoin market will never collapse. Instead of making this statement, making a statement in the benefit of Bitcoin would be more relevant. These statements have no importance in the market and its analysis because the in analysis we analyze the future of Bitcoin which is on the increase trend as resulted by the average calculations or theoretical output. Bitcoin will never collapse.

It is difficult to predict bitcoin because of its unstable nature, when bitcoin prices fall but not necessarily the bitcoin will collapse. I think bitcoin is not yet time to collapse, bitcoin can still survive and the price will gradually increase again.

We can never say that. And I think it does not look like it would collapse. Just look at the jump in the prices of Bitcoin today. Such jumps do not let the market collapse. Also the technology has grown so much and the general acceptability for the technology has grown so wide that it is now an international currency and many companies across Europe and America use it as medium of exchange.

Bitcoin market is currently following the stable market between the 7k dollar and the 8k dollar and so on up to 9k dollar. The value shifts constantly between these three values and becoming the market stable but the market is stable below 10k dollar which is called the low market. This low market is favorable for people and will collapse all the negativities and will result in green market.

I do not know if the market share of bitcoin is going to keep reducing, it is true that is the general trend that we have seen in the last months, but many of the coins that are taking market share out of bitcoin are not really that solid and some of them were hard forks of bitcoin that do not have any real value and are there only to allow traders to speculate with their prices.

Which is for me perhaps it will not under 7k on this circumstances and for sure before the end of month or mid of june the price will continue to climb again or surpass 10k value. The current market value is still very high and more than that of other competitive coins or currencies in the market. we know that this valuable coin  has all the secrets behind as the market demand is higher than the market demands of other coins and also the response of this coin is also frictionless than that of other coins. These are the factors which are in the favor of Bitcoin due to its proper work in the market.

Crashes are normal if the the crypto can still recover but if a crash occur and a coin does not seem to recover anymore then that is not a usuall crash but rather that is what you call a collapse.  Cryptos can possibly collapse if they are not getting a demand anymore and infact it does already happen on some other alts ( shit alts or shitcoins ) that are only purpose is for pump and dump scheme.

But in the case of bitcoin i dont think it can collapse instantly because bitcoin is way too useful and people loves to use it all the time.

So I am not really sure a collapse is incoming, it depends if a real bubble will quickly form.

You seem to be saying two things, and correct me if I’m wrong. Firstly that you think bitcoins current 37.5% dominance of the market cap will continue to fall as other blockchains disrupt the world and replace its use as a cryptocurrency and it becomes mainly a store of value only, and secondly that you see the cryptomarket collapsing and bitcoin price at risk of collapsing further if the market is in a bubble or one forms.

I certainly agree that the later generation blockchains and protocols being developed will in turn allow the development of dApps that will slowly replace the current massive centralised companies and businesses we all use over the next 10-15 years in a third major technology revolution of the world. I disagree however that use of bitcoin will become redundant over that 15 years, and in fact I see the opposite happening with bitcoin continuing to be the most important cryptocurrency in this new world for payments as well as an increasingly important store of value as you say. And I say this for several reasons. Firstly while bitcoin had problems with Tx speed and costs late last year, this was only because of the unprecedented heavy demands put on its network at the time which are magnitudes bigger than any other cryptocoin has ever faced - and in fact the bitcoin network which has never been hacked or compromised coped quite well and is now running smoothly again! And to cope with increased demands on the bitcoin network with the next big run up in price and its adoption and use by more of the population, the 200+ dedicated developers working on the bitcoin network (which compares with the 10-20 developers typically working on other blockchains) are finalising 6 major exciting improvements to the network that will improve its robustness a lot! Secondly bitcoin is the recognised ‘face’ of crypto, and its recognised by >50% of people in the world many of whom are interested I owning and using it - and buying it will continue to be the entry point for most new people coming into crypto! And given its limited and fixed supply i believe its value will continue to increase exponentially much as it has for the last 8 years, as shown nicely in a linear fashion in this log-graph i recently constructed of bitcoins price from 2010 to early 2018 - https://imgur.com/gallery/9iF3t . The linear exponential growth for the last 7 years is extrapolated out over the next 7 years in the log-graph giving values of bitcoin in the hundreds of thousands, and while it’s very important to remember that a projection of past behaviour like this is in NO way predictive of what will happen in the future I do believe that the positive factors I’ve mentioned will lead to increases in bitcoins value like seen in the graph as its ownership and use by people increases from the current <1% of people who own or use it to 10-15% ownership and use over the next 5-10 years - and I think it will hold its place as the most valuable cryptocurrency over this time with at least 40% of the market cap.

And as you can also see from the log-graph the bitcoin price shorter term goes through big speculative upwards runs and then crashes and moves sideways, with the periods each lasting 12-24 months. We are currently 6 months into a period of bitcoin having crashed 60% from its Dec 17 ATH and it moving in a sideways fashion at ~$8-10K, which will probably last for another six months before the next major upswing takes it to a new ATH of $50K in 2019. And my feeling is that we are at the bottom of this market crash since Dec 17, and that we won’t see bitcoin collapse under $7K before the next bull market fuelled by institutional money and another 1-2% of the population FOMOing in to buy bitcoin first and then other altcoins in the next major upswing. But there’s no guarantees in investment or life of course, and theres always a small chance that the whole crypto space may become worthless which is why people investing in crypto are told never to invest more than they can afford to lose! Good luck with your investing!

With the recent price decreases it is common reaction of people getting worried and thinks that bitcoin will colapse.  Time and time again there has been deep falls with bitcoin this is commonly experience by the pioneers of these cryptocurrency but then again just when people think it will hit rock bottom it skyrocketted leaving the skiptics in awe. So just hold on we will see better days soon.

my current opinion is just simple what is called collapse? one knows from this time by looking at the sluggish psae but not collapse particularly and especially bitcoin, and in association with falling bitcoin prices and other altcoins soaring it is commonplace, even if the bitcoin price goes up is definitely the price altcoin is on its way down, my current view of market conditions between bitcoin and altcoin is just a matter of equal distribution to reinforce amid conditions of enthusiastic situation of investors and society is rising up, may be useful and successful for all of us

That is why we need a strong regulation to emerging cryptocurrencies so that we can avoid and prevent more shitcoins in going in the market.
Also, despite the many cryptos emerging, it will not affect the market of bitcoin in anyway mainly because most of them depends on bitcoin. The image bitcoin made through the years made it very reputable so even if its price is going downwards, many of us are still trusting and investing to it whenever we have the chance.

BTC has relevance as more crypto objects unveil. But thinking its market share will collapse on the speculative interest of ETH and other Blockchain assets, but when it comes to trading platforms, each of these blockchain assets are predominantly paired with BTC and others.

Collapse is a sudden fall down to a total crash and this is not an absolute crash, normal fluctuations, problems, and issues are arising in front of the community, many of  the newbies and weak handed already given up from this phenomenon because they can't really understand that bitcoin is not an easy money rich quickly investments.
Oh! It is not collapsing; if it had to collapse then it would have collapsed in the beginning. The Bitcoin market will never collapse as we know that this market has survived a lot and even in the tough situations and made its survival permanent. The current market value is on the increase trend but below 10k dollar which favors the investors to buy the coins and this market will soon uplift and will worth high and will payoff.

Bitcoin is "going for collapse" every few months. Some people just don't see it. If Bitcoin falls it doesn't mean that it will fall forever.
We cannot say a collapse actually it so happen price fluctuation is strong on bitcoin. That is true, price drops but it is not forever in down trend. I don't see the future a collapse in bitcoin but I am positive it will going strong in increasing of value.
Bitcoin market is not collapsing as observing and proving by the current market conditions, the current market conditions are not bad but normal. We are looking for the rise very soon and the current conditions are the signs for soon recovery.

If the market had to collapse, it would collapse before in the beginning but it continued and is continuing its survival in the market which is showing its perfect strength.

To ty mind, it's only stabilizing right now. It's still pretty high, let's be honest, 20$k last year were more of a emboldmemt for the future, and not real vaue
Sounds like you have been shown the exact real value in your own dream.
No one knows what the real value would be, no one knows how low bitcoin will ever go and in fact, no one knows anything. The market can do as it pleases because that is what it is; a market !

No matter how optimistic and pessimistic some people may be, nothing stops what will end up happening from happening. Good the OP himself gave the right closing statement while answering his own question as I was going to ask if he understands the word collapse at all.

But, bitcoin overcame those hurdles and grew much faster which confirms that bitcoin won't collapse.

The price of Bitcoin is not collapsing, conversely to this statement the Bitcoin price is going high and its existence is growing more in the world due to the promotions of Bitcoin all over the world. The current market and the recent news are positive as the price increased constantly from 7k dollar to 7.7k dollar regularly. If this constant increase continues its trend then we will soon enter into high market.

People are emotional creatures. If the price is heading up they expect Bitcoin to become the main currency of the world, where if the price is heading down all that positivity vanishes instantly and turns into negativity.

It all comes down to how uneducated they are. These people don't know how much of a risk they expose themselves to, and as result they blame Bitcoin for everything that goes wrong.

Another example of how people based on emotions can't act or think properly, is when people lose with gambling. In case of a loss they don't blame themselves for that, but the casino in question, which is just ridiculous.

The most common forms of blame towards casinos is that they are rigged, or that the owner on purposely let them win 5 straight small bets, but made them lose as soon as they went big.

Insanity.

Do you understand that the market of gold is one of the biggest around the world, if bitcoin becomes big enough to rival gold I would consider that a huge success, also if the market of bitcoin becomes so big that means that the market of any coin trying to surpassing it will need to be even bigger, something I do not know if it is possible in your scenario.

Over time you learn that bitcoin is still in infant, hyper-growth stage. You can see that Bitcoin is getting stronger so price will have to catch up. It always does. Your charts are making you hysterical ;-)  You just need to zoom out to see more clearly. You are still dealing with a super trendy top technology so you have to learn to filter out the short term noise.

Wall st is trying to dilute the conversation with altcoins and ICOs but bitcoin will successfully emerge as the top store of value coin and the world will then start to embrace it mainstream. If you want to help out promoting btc, you have to stop talking abt altcoins and focus the discussion on btc. That's my takeaway. Institutions are heavily accumulating btc and  are investing in the technology if you haven't noticed. That's your best long-tern guidance of where btc is headed.

I would not also be panic much as well with the way things are going with the market. A lot of traders expect a huge break out below $6200 which would be a speedy move downwards and that is not a possibility as things are going, and no one right now with the volume in the market and the false breakouts will even want to be taking any major risk. I guess we have a lot of days to see how things would end up going.

With some technical analysis, I am predicting market to take a U turn from here as $6600/$6400 levels are too strong support levels, you can check lots of buyers there in most of major exchanges. If you consider price levels under $10k a collapse then bitcoin market already got collapsed. If below $5k is a collapse then that will never going to happen.

Something totally beyond imagination to see everyone trying to dump the coins they have and in that case, who is going to be collecting the dumps, and bag holding ? Those are selling right now with the expectation of upcoming collapse might end up with big disappointments for sure and who are all making use of these dips to buy more, will become millionaires in coming days.

I do not see any reason for bitcoin to collapse anyway, it is a market, which is evolving and increasing in growth and development, with a lot of people seeing the real value it creates and a means for storing value as well. All these things would be a reason why the sky is the limit for bitcoin.

Unethical if bitcoin's said to collapse because the prospect of bitcoin will continue to be promising and tantalizing, as has been the case in previous years, to date there are still many whales and entrepreneurs, who own and hodl large amounts of BTC. Well, they only see exactly what they want to see and I do not know why someone would think of a collapse when indeed we are just in a bear trend. A lot of people are the main reason why they panic and they do not even need FUD news for that. If we are to count the number of times since the beginning that stuffs like these have been mentioned though, we would not stop counting.

We can go lower than this and there is no doubt, but we can bounce from anywhere at any point in time and that is the reality. Instead of worrying about the collapse, we must work on how to make use of the market to buy more. Collapse may occur but it will bounce back very sharply for sure. If we are not aware of that then may miss a very big opportunity of our life time.

No the market of bitcoin is not going to collapse because bitcoin is much stronger currency in the world economy of digital business. People are spending their money in it and they want to support it more because they know that in this currency they will see a more brighter future.
Crashes are a natural part of any market, people act as if there are not crashes in the fiat markets the difference is that since this market is so new that the crashes are bigger and more frequent but there is not going to be a total collapse of the market after all even if bitcoin is nowhere close to being perfect it is still a useful coin so it cannot become worthless overnight.

Many altcoins collapse all the time, but we are not going to see a collapse of bitcoin at all, it is true the market of bitcoin has experienced a decrease in its price that has been significant but even in this difficult moments you can still earn money if you a are a trader and have the guts to trade and short bitcoin, I know it is not easy and it is a risky move but if you do it and master it you will no longer care about the price going down and you will only care about the direction and the magnitude of the movement.

I don't think so. Every crypto trader or person that have been in crypto from a while have complete faith on Bitcoin. It's been the history of Bitcoin that it's price fluctuates a lot. If you look on the graph of 2017 then there were many ups and downs during the whole year and similar pattern is being observed this year. P.S if you exclude January from it

Bitcoin can survive and will not collapse so easily, bitcoin will be able to rise at a better price, and remain in its popularity to be the main crypto coin.

I am always optimistic that bitcoin's value will not reduce.    instead it will increase at huge amount by the end of this year 2018. Many investors have fated with bitcoins future ,that it can survive this challenge, though this past few weeks it was fluctuating. And I strongly beleive bitcoin will be on top in this  cryptocurrency.

Ask yourself and you will know if it will collapse
Market goes by cycle, but if one market doesn't move the exact way as before, it may be a sign to see how the market will turn

No the market of bitcoin is not going to collapse because bitcoin is much stronger currency in the world economy of digital business. People are spending their money in it and they want to support it more because they know that in this currency they will see a more brighter future. They will not leave it and they will hold their coins. These are some points which is making the coin more stronger.
Let us just say that what is currently happening is the cycle of life in cryptos and to be more specific, this is the cycle for bitcoin. Looking back, we will see that bitcoin had started at a very low price and then as time passes by it had managed to reach its position as the number one crypto. You will also see that the market price is not always going up, there are times when bitcoin needs to crash for it to gain more investors. Bitcoin price falling right now is creating too much noise which I am sure that the whales or possible investors are very much aware. The dump price will be a good opportunity for them to use pounds of money as well as for the potential investors who are waiting to enter this community.

As I have said, this is just a cycle so no matter how low bitcoin price go, it will not die. Eventually, it will start to recover again we just have to give it time.

The market of Bitcoin is not going to collapse and the reason is its work and function it is responding well to people living in this world for fast transactions and investment with huge profit.

So it will never collapse and this is just a down in the market which will recover soon so be optimistic about the future of Bitcoin. It has recovered in the past and will be recovering and will be improving in the future as we know that the crypto market is improving with the passage of time.

Collapsing means the price is very cheap and few people are only are still investing in bitcoin and many people are leave bitcoin and sell their bitcoin. But until now bitcoin is still alive and more stronger to all cryptocurrency.  I think it is good to buy more bitcoin instead of saying to collapsing.
At this phase that we are, when we are just starting the moving train, collapsing should not even be in anyone's dictionary. If we ever get to a stage like this, then that means there is a huge fire on the mountain and so many people are trying to get out as fast as possible, and as I am right now, I have not been able to think of any scenario ever that can end up leading to that.

Most probably the term collapse used by OP must be in wrong sense because bitcoin market is highly established the one and it will never get collapsed for simple reasons like some countries banning bitcoins nor some big whale's sell off. The collapse may be possible only when there will be a fundamental failure of entire bitcoin systems.

What is your confidence based on? I don't see any positive signals at the moment. Users do not want to sell coins cheaply and buyers do not want to buy coins more expensive because the period of optimism is over. We need some kind of impulse to warm up the demand, but I think that this will not happen before the end of autumn.

Bitcoin market will not collapse because cryptocurrency will just continue to grow, the volatility of the market will make the price of bitcoins to grow even more due to the demand in the market that keeps on decreasing whenever a dumping time like today occurs.

Increasing of numbers of cryptocurrency is just fine because not every coin in the market does have the capability of increasing its own price if people will not choose to invest on their coin.

In reality no one know about the future of bitcoin but still people keep talking, either good or bad but they talk about it and I think these are just negative thoughts of some people about bitcoin that its price is going to decrease now. This roomer not a new one, from the very first day some people were saying that the price of bitcoin will decrease with time but it didn’t and I think the same thing will occur in the future.
While no one knows with absolute certainty what it is going to happen to bitcoin in the future at the same time there are things we can see very clearly and bitcoin is not going to collapse in the short term, there is no other coin that can rival the technology and popularity of bitcoin and this means bitcoin will keep begin very valuable for a very long time.

When bitcoin was just starting after satoshi created it bitcoin could have been destroyed by governments if they want it by dedicating a few computers, becoming miners and do a 51% attack, but bitcoin grew to this point and now such an attack will be very difficult to implement so I think it is safe to say that bitcoin is not going to crash at all now that it has reached these levels of adoption.

Bifcoin will only collapse if there are no more buyers or the demand for bitcoin has stopped. Although the price of the bitcoin continues to go down, there are still more significant investors in the market ready to buy the top coin. Bitcoin is experiencing a prolonged correction or accumulation but it is not necessary a collapse of the cryptocurrecies.

Yeah you are right. Most of the people around the globe do not know anything about crypto world and they will take long time to learn about bitcoin and Altcoin. So we should not be worry about the decreasing price of bitcoin. The future is bright and the investment cap will increase with the passage of time and thus the price will also grow, Just be patient.

No I don’t think so. Fall in the price I think is for the time being and it will grow again in the near future. We just need patience to hold our coins for some more time. No doubt 2018 gave deficits to many people but those who hold their coins will make good profits in the future. Don’t be panic about the price in this day and be optimistic about the bright future.

yes, although the bitcoin price is down too deep, it will keep trying to go up. this will happen too often and not just in this week or in daily, but it will also happen in the next months. what we need to do is only keep trying to make a profit from the price because I see that our chance to still make a profit is wide open especially if we can do a good analyze in the market. but don't forget, bitcoin price suddenly gets down without any warning so you need to have another plan to prevent this.

This would lead to panic selling for some who lack knowledge and it's not strategic enough on how to deal its volatility. It has been a normal trend and we should be aware of it. Despite its price moving upward or downward at unexpected time, it still has great potential for great opportunities, growth, will bounce back and generate huge profit. Each passing day, its demand is increasing, more development are expected to arrive in the global market, and the support system is getting stronger, so I don't think it's going to collapse easily.

It never gets collapsed, at times when there is a price manipulation the market gets shattered. This will generate a panic wave among the user community creating a downtrend of the market. This is quite common thing as people were not in a situation to accept this when price falls steep in a short.

In my opinion, neither Bitcoin market will collapse nor will the prices fall again. We are already in a point in time when the prices are down but look a bit stable below the low level of prices.

The collapse can only occur if all the people abandon on Bitcoin and completely stop their demand for it which I think can never happen because the currency has spread a lot and a very huge amount more than billions of dollars have been spent in the technology.

Agreed, and what is happening with the value of bitcoin is simply the market fluctuation. At times the fluctuations were taking place in large scale generating panic among the users. If this is to collapse on price fluctuations, the cryptocurrency industry should have faced it years back. Because similar growth pattern has happened in the past. Now as the price is found to reach a higher price and the sudden downfall looks like a collapse.

After a huge bull run the bear run comes. Don't worry - it will go away and the bull market will return - when tho nobody can tell.

Yes it is possible to happen what you've above, but i don't think it will happen easily unless there is a massive fud propaganda from the whales.
We can not say like this and it is totally irrelevant as we know that the market of Bitcoin recovered after down falls and this showed its potential and strength as well the support of people due to the response of Bitcoin. Now situations are not favorable for sellers but favorable for buyers, as buying rate is increasing so we will see a better value in the future.

There is nothing about the collapse. This situation will be recovered soon and the upstream will be seen in the price in the near future. You should wait till that time and be patient. If you want to make money then hold your coins for some more time and when the price rise again you can sell them for higher price. Patience and courage is necessary for bitcoin investment.

Pretty optimistic huh? A lot of us here like that as well especiallly after april proved to be a good month but short termers' hope were dashed when we plunged again, this time clocking an all time low for 2017. Though i'm sure as hell bitcoin will endure, this market may take a little more time like this

I dont think this is possible right now that nothing is created a kind of cryptocurrency which can surpass the essentials of bitcoin. The market is experiencing a price depression and this is not the first time actually this has always been the trend but just as before it can surely recover.

The market is crumbling but will not die and will grow again, The fall of the price of crypto is normal, and it will not make crypto die, be patient and do not panic, the red market will surely pass soon.

I think With the advent of technology and the impact of the chain of blocks it will continue to evolve into a better platform to serve the nation and people. The downward price trend is only normal, we have lower prices in the market than this February this year is 6k infact.
I just observed that whenever there is a price trend down many posts or subjects to post say and ask the same line as this "Will bitcoin collapse?" Good people need to understand that from the beginning bitcoin up to now has struggled in the last 9 years but remains and dominates. If in time it will collapse then I think it will take life time to do it.

Price isnt a determiner of the market collapsing or ceasing long term, its really related to efficiency and in comparison to alternatives in transmission of value.

So for example, gold has the positive in not requiring any energy upkeep or backing in order to continue.  Its efficiency is in the very long term transmission of value.     Alt coins have to have some key unique feature to them or suffer in comparison, so I see the main contrast as the protocol itself.    Which other blockchains have a greater efficncy and utility then bitcoin itself, the fee problem with BTC did elevate many alternatives as cheaper but that effect has declined.

The main reason to doubt BTC and believe a collapse or takeover by a rival is from the cost of running ASIC.   If they cannot profitably confirm each block then it could cause a ripple effect - no pun intended.  There is a true test ahead in terms of cost per unit of data vs speed vs security and various factors valued by consumers.

I think it is the other way around many of the projects that currently exist will disappear in the future and when that happens then all of that money going to those alts is going to return to bitcoin so if anything it is likely bitcoin recovers some of the market share it has lost to other coins, it is not something that will happen in the next months but it could happen in the next 10 years.

No I don’t think so because if you are thinking about the fall in the price and share your worries about the coming situation it will be just a panic for all. I think that this situation is for the time being and the price will increase after some time. But I think that this price is not bad and is according to the market cap. We have seen big price of bitcoin and that is the reason for our worry.

The market will never collapse because the price is still very profitable even though it might go down sometimes, every time the market price is dropping there will be more investors who are going to hoard coins so definitely the price will still grow up, volatility is the reason why every traders are getting rich today.

why are you so pessimist about what is going on the market? I think that it all will be recovering sooner or later, so there is no need to be so worried about this, teh best thing that you can actually do is try to buy as much bitcoin as you can.

Well i'm not going to say never because you can't remove the chances of it anyways. But it's unlikely though because you're right, one, it's already an asset that many people consider very profitable. So much that price drops are considered opportunities to just buy back. Also, once it settles, i think it'll be more than an asset and will be used more as a transaction method.
