Title: Running Antminer + USB Erupter simultaneously
Post by: MrMagoo on January 08, 2014, 05:44:09 PM
Hey,

Just looking for someone Running atleast 1 x Antminer + 1 x USB Erupter simultaneously..
I can get mine working but any time either of them stop I must go through another half hour of plugging in, out, installing drivers and restarting programs to get them all working again - Very frustrating I'm sure you can imagine to have X speed and be mining at B speed :(

I'm using Bitminter for my USB Erupters as when they first arrived, it was the first program I got them to run through..
& my antMiner I have running through CGMiner (although it constantly is flooding error messages, it is still mining :P )

I would be over the moon if Bitminter, added antminer compatability and my hubs/ports/miners were all behaving themselves..

- Anyone else having similar problems or can lend a hand?

.. :( I also have another type of USB miner on order! - this will be hellish to get running!

they will all work with cgminer and maybe with bitminter not had a look at there development in a while but there good at adding the devices

the reason your getting errors is cgminer is detecting the wrong drivers for the hardware running in bitminter
if you use the cgminer zadig tool and change all drivers to the mining gear using it then they will all work in 1 cgminer window.

if you want id be happy to show you via remote desktop.

The cgminer build from BITMAINtech cannot run both Block Erupters and AntMiners. This is because they used the same code for both with minor changes. You cannot compile it with both AntMiner and Icarus support at all.

If you want to run both devices at the same time have a look at my bfgminer branch with AntMiner U1 support. You can read details here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=168174.msg4404188#msg4404188

It is not a driver problem and BitMinter isn't going to work either right now. The problem is that the AntMiner U1 behaves almost exactly like other Icarus devices, but not exactly. This means cgminer (not the BITMAINtech build) and BitMinter detect them as Icarus devices and then hash slowly and with about 36% hardware errors.
