Title: Portable vs stand-alone
Post by: Kazimir on January 09, 2014, 12:10:07 PM
Want to try Electrum and I understand the security advice (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=154451.0). The reason I'm considering the portable version, rather than the stand-alone, is that I want to store a wallet on an encrypted partition that is only opened whenever I actually need to access it.

I didn't test it yet, but question about stand-alone vs portable: I guess the stand-alone version doesn't require any installation, but does store data in some generic folder, e.g. the regular Windows User / App data folder. Whereas the portable will probably store its data in its own executable's (or sub) folder. Correct?
