I feel very sorry for the number of people that have made offers on this miner.

On January 8th, This ebay user has posted before and sold literally 5-8 of these so called miners.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=181297068728&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

I was going to order this but when I emailed him.  He was way to eager to talk.  It came off like a scam.  He said he found a private distributor.  He said it is a preorder.  He said that it is insured and if the miners didnt come, he would give a refund.  Basically my red flags went up.

I then received 3 emails from ebay where they told me this guy, a user name raychelgee has defrauded several ebay members using a bank wire.  Ebay saw that I sent him messages.  When I clicked on his name, it said the raychelgee name (I dont know how he is able to change it)

Guys please look at this posting and report it, do not buy and warn others of this scammer.

I hope no one loses any money on this.
He has a make an offer option where he always accepts.
Please spread the word

[update] i found another fishy character that might be up to the same trick, but I am not certain about this one

The only safe place to buy miners these days is through a thorough vetting on craigslist.  sad

What's the risk if the item still has ebay buyer protection? Won't paypal just rip money out of the hands of buyers once its discovered fake?

Edit: Oh god. They're offering to accept payment via bitcoins. That's not good.

However, if buyers pay via paypal or credit card, they can always chargeback, right?

I just want to say that I did buy a rip off thing on ebay once and i was refunded the money.
That was 60 bucks.  I dont know how close to 10k would work (if someone paid the full price in paypal)

Ebay from known good sellers (98%+), selling in hand equipment pictured uniquely, one piece at a time, paid via credit card through Paypal is pretty safe.
