Title: Ragazzi! I'm having to translate on the Italian board to find posts to merit

I've just given a couple of merits to this post.

Come on guys - give me a chance to award a few merits by actually posting some good meaningful English prose that is of benefit to the Bitcoin Talk community. I don't speak Italian, and it is a real pain to have to translate posts to see if they are any good.

EDIT: About banking problems? Well our politicians are injecting a lots of money into small banks because are due to go banktupt, bigger banks are exposed to this little banks, it would create a domino effect

I'm really interested in the Italian banking problems, and I'd love it if we could have some Italians telling us about their experiences by posting in English.

Italy has come to a time where more than 70% of Italians are not as rich as they used to be before the introduction of the EUR currency. If you ask any normal/average Italian person he will tell you that the EUR destroyed Italy and the debt problems which is almost one week since they have resurfaced as a main topic in International news just shows that. Unemployment is at the highest levels. At our country used to come a lot of immigrants in the 90-2000 but now it seems many Italians are migrating too. That is the economic situation of Italy ,actually, I am no expert in economy but I am sure more than 70% of the Italians will agree with me. This is my personal experience too, my family not being as rich as they used to be before the introduction of the common currency.

We could easily turn this thread into a political discussion, but it would be better to do that in the Ivory Tower. I'll pitch in if somebody want to start one. An English discussion about the Italian banking system and cryptos would be great for many of us.

Your generosity is touching but I think we just need more sources in the Italian section.

Beside that i have made a thread in the Italian section for people learning smart contracts ( like me ) posting what i believe are interesting examples. I have been thinking about moving it in the international section, to get more people involved, maybe experts, however there is no Development & Technical Discussion or any other similar place for Altcoin.  :-\

About the Italian banks and politics, you probably don't really want to know  ;D

It is not really generosity, it is self interest. I'm interested in the dramatic changes that are happening in the world economies at the moment. Italian merit sources may be a good thing, but for me Italian spionsors and translators who can bring the knowledge on the Italian boards onto the English boards would be even better. This allows us all to benefit from the information.

WOW, that's noble work, JetCash! You're not only learning a new language to merit posts you're traveling to the far flung shores of this forum in search of new land to spread your merit seeds. You're rewarding the folks on the fringe, more of them deserve it than receive it, i'm sure!

I've added a Latin/Italian section to Fit to Talk. I call it 'amore et labore', and I think that could refer to some of the efforts here, but perhaps we could do with a bit more 'amore', and an easier time with the 'labore'.

I only know "ora et labora" which means "pray and work" ;D. Man I don't know what you wanna know, our economic situation it's pretty simple, our economy can flourish but corruption is rampant over here, we're one of the most corrupted contries in the world

Do you really mean 'prey'. It means plunder or hunt for food. Still, that is probably about right for most governments - make them work, and then plunder their earnings. :)

He meant pray. Part of the fault is also coming from the average italian way of thinking, which consist in escamotage to avoid paying taxes and cheat his way through when possible, so those few payimg are paying also for them. With this way of thinking you can easily imagine what kind of people are going to the government and in strategic positions, even banks leading roles.

Just saw this thread, good initiative. On Italian section we have few and not very active sMerit sources. Sorry if my English is not perfect but the translation is:



On the internet, you will definitely find better explanations, but I am trying to give you a "scientific" answer.
The probability of distribution that is best matched to bitcoin extraction is the Bernoulli distribution, therefore
Probability of extraction = n!/ (N-k)!*P^k*(1-p)^(n-k) where:
n=number of tried attempts in 10 minutes ->n=hashpower of the total network*10minutes
k=number of acceptable attempts->k=1
p=probability of success-> hashpower of your machines / hashpower of the network
You can quietly do the math but it will result a probability with 0 periodically  ;D
This is because n!/(n-1)! is practically 1 because of a big value of n; p is of the order of 10^-9 therefore 1-p is about 0.999999 which when raised to a very large number it will become in an order less than 10^-44 (just see that 0.99999^(10 ^ 9) is of the order of 10^-44 and consider that n-1 instead is of an order extremely superior to one billion).
So you will have a 10^-9 multiplied for something with a very small order, so to be optimistic you will have 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000000010000000000000000000000000000012% of probability to mining the block.
