Post by: pooya87 on May 23, 2018, 04:26:23 AM
Bitrefill is a service which you can use to top up your phone, pay the bills, and a lot more... using bitcoin and it has been accepting payments through Lightning Network. the testing started before Dec 2017 and they have been accepting payments through LN ever since Mar 15 [1]. now they have set a new record: 1BTC received through Lightning Network as payments.

more than 2000 nodes are already running on Lightning Network.

Well, this is good news,I guess. So many people on this forum were waiting for the Lightning Network project to start working. Many people were expecting that the LN will be the solution for faster and cheaper BTC transactions, but actually the BTC transactions are fast and cheap right now, without the help of LN.
The blockchain has to be stuck with too many transactions and the fees have to increase a lot,in order for us to the real value of LN.

This is really surprising, especially since it's a service to top up your phone card.
Most people already have subscriptions for their phones and I doubt the average charge goes above 10 euros. That would lead us to at least 20 customers daily over LN.
That's really impressing, especially since LN is still not a finished product.

Well, to be honest this is the same thing that has prevent me to play around with a client.
The fees are now so cheap, fast confirmation with 10 cents and on top of it I'm in quite a lazy mood lately so I've never actually tried to make a payment via LN.

But if that spam waves comes back, no way I'm going to pay 20$, I'd rather spend one whole day experimenting and setting it up than filling bitmain pockets....

This is really surprising, especially since it's a service to top up your phone card.

when they adopted LN last year they were advertised a lot by users who were talking about them and also the dev that posted that tweet of the first LN transaction to top up phone.
they also offer Steam Vouchers https://en.bitrefill.com/steam-eur-voucher/ which may also be a part of their sale.
