Most things are looking good - We should be able to launch on the target date. The source is working on *nix and Mac, but I am having one hell of a time getting the QT compiled for windows. I'm sure it has something to do with my environment, so I'm going to start fresh on a different box today. Hopefully that takes care of it since my face is sore from banging it into my keyboard in frustration. On a positive note, all of the pools will be able to set up, and miners will be able to mine. 4 days and counting....

Initial boost of miners -> Leave once first retarget happens -> Hash dropping and retarget getting longer and longer.

The coin will die within a couple days of launch at this rate. Saw it happen to CAT, can see it happening to this. New coins need to have a <6hr retarget or it is committing coin suicide. Take that for what it's worth.

Has anyone actually successfully found blocks? Either solo or in pool? I am not getting credited for anything no matter what I try to do.

Sorry, this is my first experience with instamining. Can you explain what it means when I solo mine and it says I've found blocks, but then the transactions disappear almost immediately? I'm assuming those are orphaned blocks right?

confirmed: I am getting accepted blocks. Those with the fastet rigs and the lowest ping times are going to beat you (most) every time.

For those that do not understand the concept of instamining:

there will be many stales. blocks are being found at a VERY high rate. if somebody returns a solved block even a fraction of a second before you, you will get a stale or an orphan. it is a matter of hashrate and latency. Once the difficulty comes up, there will be less.

I don't get any coins in pool mininig WTF?????? I got some on one rig with solo mininig, but why pool balamce is empty after 30+ mins of hashing with lots of accepted shares? Pool chat is silent, tried to ask there....

Never mind, I found it. Btw bitember, I have an account which is registered in first 100 (I believe) which is the same as my user name. However, I seemed to have gotten that account locked cause I kept fat-fingering my own password. Can you get it unlocked so I can reset my password (and also reduce my fee to 0%). Thanks.

or you have the .conf in the wrong folder. the config file must go in your %appdata%fellatio/ folder, not in the folder where the .exe is.


also, once you add a config file, you must restart the wallet in order for the changes to take effect.

There is a 2 hour delay in the payout cronjob.

Wait...I didn't see the change, you decided to change this to 10 minute block times and keep the 2 week retarget? This coin is super dead. This is exactly what CAT tried to do.

For the dev:

You realize copying bitcoin longer retarget and blocktimes adds nothing of value to the coin and in fact is extremely toxic in this very competitive altcoin environment right?

We need VERY SHORT block times, like 30 seconds for it to really fly. Look at all the successful alts, they are all way faster than bitcoin. Likewise, I addressed in a previous post that if you do not change the retarget to shorter times, you will get a huge bailout of miners once difficulty increases and you will quickly see that your two week "target" becomes 6 months (which I have observed happen to a couple coins that tried to copy bitcoin specs). This is a SERIOUS issue and will destroy this coin if left unchecked for long enough. I am not fearmongering, I've already seen many coins fall into the trap of "we will be a bitcoin spec clone" and die as a result.

Right now you just set it to bitcoin x10. This coin is dead within a week I promise you. Since it just launched, it's not too late to do this before you get super entrenched (and thus screwed). Hard fork it and fix the blocktimes and the retarget times now before you are trapped into it.

It's stabilizing some, but blocks are still coming much sooner than target. If not this next change, the following one will put us close to target timing. (at this current hashrate)


It would also help the pool ops if the miners would spread out a bit. The first pools DB is probably taking a beating.
