Title: [Research Study] Your First Crypto Coin
Post by: CoinGeneral on January 16, 2014, 10:21:38 AM
This is a study for the first coin you acquired, so if you heard about Bitcoin first but got 1 Dogecoin as your very first coin, then Dogecoin is your first Crypto Coin.

I want to see how many people's first coin was Dogecoin as opposed to other coins.

I've heard that a huge amount of people first came here due to Dogecoin so this poll is to prove just how many people have been influenced by it.

If your first coin is not on this list, send me a PM and do not vote yet. I will ad it to the list, PM you back, then you can vote for that coin.

Thanks.

Nice, I remember when Litecoin was under $10 each

Actually I remember when they were $4 each at the earliest

But it was stuck at under $10 for a long time, it was a wall that wouldn't break.

Then all of a sudden EXPLOSION!! It rose up immediately to $45 per coin. I think there were 20,000+ people online BTC-E at the time and it was just so epic. Then it suddenly fell back down to $35 just as easily as it went up it went down. But now it's pretty stable at around $25 a coin.

Add USD-E please.

That's a currency, not a crypto coin.

Litecoin > Netcoin > Doge > Earthcoin > RonPaulCoin > Klondike.

Klondike is a very nice one. 0% premine and no instamine. Very smooth launch. Only 19 millions coins to be mined. Hashrate increasing every day. Still time to join the gold rush!

Yep. Bitcoin was definitely the first one I heard about, but not the first coin I got any of.

I got interested by Bitcoin through the additional features of Namecoin. That it isn't even a choice is telling. :(

o_o

I thought you got Namecoin from mining Bitcoin?

Also Namecoin has been added. It's in the top 10 highest valued coins so it should have been anyway.

Yeah I would think that was a good thing!

More people coming to Dogecoin means more people also coming onto Bitcoin! (well most likely, I mean I didn't start out with Bitcoin myself, but eventually got into it too)

Win-win

I'd be curious to find out how many people had Coinye as their first introduction to the crypto world - and then how many of those noobies are still in the crypto scene after all the fun and games

my first was Bitcoin
