Title: Finding good Hardware wallet ...
Post by: pubudu92 on May 23, 2018, 06:51:10 PM
Lots of Hackers are out there. I want to replace my ether wallet to hardware wallet. I think its a good decision. Can someone help me to find a good hardware wallet? Tell me some details about hardware wallets. I don't know anything about it.

I use Ledger Neno S since a year. No issue with it yet, feel very comfortable and safe of course. You can have multiple coins in one device. There are others as well like Trezor and etc.

The most reliable purse is a hardware purse. There is a lot of information on the Internet about them. Plus these wallets, always offline, appear on the network only when you insert them into your computer. For me, the best are Lenger Nano S and Trezor.

This is completely incorrect. The only thing a hardware does is hold the wallet private-keys, which are used to sign the transactiosns and send it back to the computer to be broadcasted. Nothing "appears" at the network after you connect your device because the addresses already exist. You clearly don't understand how do blockchains function.

OP: Basically, Ledger Nano S or Trezor/Trezor T. Try to do your own research. There are several articles in the internet about those hardware wallets. I personally prefer the Nano S.

Both ledger nano s and Trezor hardware wallet is the best option because it gives you a 3rd layer of security to your wallet, which is invulnerable to any hacking activity to your account.

I suggest that you choose ledger nano s because it can support more altcoins and ERC20 than Trezor wallet.

So your ethereum will be secured and safe if you use a ledger nano s and ledger nano has a better style than Trezor wallet.

Just make sure to save your seed phrase on the paper or anywhere you want to save just make sure that it is in the safe place because you can't recover your wallet if you don't know your seed phrase it is one of the important in hardware wallet.

I can only say Ledger Nano S.
I've been using it for some time now and had no issues.

Cold wallets are more secure because they are stored offline and private keys are no accessible though the internet. A type of cold wallet would be hardware such as Trezor or Ledger. These are best if you're holding a larger sum of currency and sort of act like a saving account. These two wallets require more effort, but have a much lower risk of theft. We touch on this more in our blog post about wallets; might be useful for you  :)

Hope this helps!

Ledger Nano and Trezor are the top two hardware wallets at the moment.   Keepkey might also be a consideration.

If you want the reputable ones, then you're choices are quite narrow: only leaving you with either the Ledger Nano S[1] or the Trezor[2]. They're a bit similar, so which is best for you depends on personal preference. If you want something different, try out KeepKey[3], though I'm not sure if it's as secure as the first two.

Latest gen Nano and Trez are my favorites. Do not keep it all in one spot.  I use paper wallets and hardware wallets.  Always cold wallets for me only hot ones for trades then it gets moved back to cold.  I'm not a day trader.  Paper wallets I store in fire proof safe, in a fire proof lock box.  Also I copy paper wallets and hardware have them in my deposit box at the bank.

The three most popular and best Bitcoin hardware wallets are:
Ledger Nano S
TREZOR
KeepKey
Hardware wallets are a good choice if you’re serious about security and convenient, reliable Bitcoin storage

Just get the Ledger and put your money on it.  Its just the best, and actually the cheapest of the lot as well. Supports a ton of coins too.

Just make sure  that you save your seed phrase on paper, else you are gonna have a bad time if you ever lose the actual wallet.

Without a doubt, Bitcoin hardware wallets are the most secure type of Bitcoin wallet. What differentiates hardware wallets from software wallets is that when they are plugged out—in “cold storage.”
Trezor and Ledger wallet is one of the most well known bitcoin hardware wallets on the market. The device features an OLED display also stores Altcoins.
Digital Bitbox is one of the smallest Bitcoin hardware wallets on the market. It can be stored and concealed virtually anywhere.
Only downside to this is that it’s easier to misplace than an average hardware wallet.
The Ledger Nano S is a hardware wallet that can be used to store bitcoin and Altcoins.
It is one of the most popular cold storage wallets on the market, the Nano S connects to a computer via USB and features an OLED display that makes it easy to check and confirm transactions by pushing the buttons on the side of the device. Security is beefed up with the aid of Universal Second Factor authentication.

Okay. Thanks for the pieces of information. After you said I read about both Ledger Nano and Trazer wallet. I think I should prefer Ledger nano S than Trezor wallet. Because it supports more Altcoins than Trazer.
