Title: Earth’s Greatest Threats
Post by: Hairpin on May 24, 2018, 05:45:50 AM
A National Geographic article accurately describes the state of our planet through outlining the major issues present every Earth Day since 1970. Environmental issues began with pesticides causing death in bald eagles and soot darkening our atmosphere. This year, it’s not just the awareness of plastic use imperiling the earth that is brought up. Today’s worsening environmental issues are apparently, a culmination of all the groundwork humanity has laid over the past two hundred years.

Habitat loss and climate change are the most pressing issues we are facing today, and one can’t help but fear the seemingly inevitable destruction of our planet.

I believe we have every right to question humanity’s emotional connection to the natural world.

in my oppinion greatest threats are humans, their fear, their greed, their panic, and possible assosiations that find together to reach goals at the expense of others. like bitcoin for example.

Environmental issues coupled with humanity's flaws certainly make us question the viability of living in a physical world.

World War 3 could be one of the more immediate threats. If WW3 does happen then it's very likely it will involve some level of nuclear weaponry

Soon, we will face the destruction. If this situation continues. The deterrent measures are too weak, the speed of technological development is not equal to the pace of waste disposal, human consciousness in developing countries has not improved. the government is weak

I thin its an easy question: Environmental issues are the biggest threat, with humans making the problem worse..

I am an optimist when it comes to the sturdiness of human civilisation. So, I think we will prevail over climate change. There's the other threat of warfare, but that too is diminishing by the day.

From my rosy point of view, the only real threat to humanity on Planet Earth is a rogue Asteroid impact. While several such objects have been mapped, there are many others that suddenly surprise us because they are unmappable. If one such large Asteroid suddenly emerges on a collision course with Planet Earth, there's nothing we can do. It'll be curtains for humanity.

Worse, this is not a question of 'if', it's more of a 'when'.  Hence, the judiciousness of our ventures into Outer Space.

I aggreed to that, Earth's greatest threats are us humans. We contributed the destruction of our mother earth. We should learn to protect and restore the life we destroyed.

I agree with you so much. With us, humans use our environment in the wrong way cause these problems and these are just side effects on what we are doing to our world. As time passes, a lot of problems are appearing and all we can do is to just find another solution for the remaining and will be born babies in these world.

The biggest threat is overpopulation. In fact, some other threats such as pollution, global warming and wars are a consequence of this. As if this is not enough, in the coming years we will be hit by a new global threat, the shortage of drinking water.

Well I wish there is no World War 3. But I guess the new war will be mostly in the form of trade war and cyber war.
Countries attacking others electric grid system, bringing them down and
or cyber was is already on between the usa, russia and china.

This is the new form of war and this is ongoing.

in my view - earth's greatest threats must include population.
Its the evil for greed
If i agree with your analogy human have fear, greed, panic
then more the population is more the greed is.

For me the greatest threats to earth are the people who live in this world. They are the one who contributed waste to the environment which made it alot of damages along the ecosystem. That is why we have this what we called global warming and this happened because of the people that are lack of awareness about the importance of the green environment. And if we are not going to stop this illegal works into our environment then we may expect a more problems in the coming generation.

Human beings have brought a lot of pollution to the earth. Especially after the Industrial Revolution, human beings depended on the power of science and technology to create a lot of water pollution, air pollution,  in ancient times not so much pollution.

The greatest threats to Earth are the political agendas being imposed and being used to brainwash peoples minds. It creates social chaos, instability and make people affect the planet negatively.

About the main statement on this thread it's better to be careful. Blindly believing that pesticides, agrotoxins are evil and shouldn't be used is questionable. They play a big role in producing enough food for everyone on the Earth and without them we couldn't have enough food for all.

It is my hope that when we can finally utilize the energy from the sun to very high efficiency, we will put an end to a lot of pollution that ravages the earth. We shouldn't put wealth above the future generations because we will be gone someday and they will suffer for our mistakes.

Earth's greatest threat over the years has been humans . We are the the only creatures who are able to think in rational ways. Rational in ways ti be able to the good from bad, to identify endeavors that are harmful. The world is faced with global warning,a situation that should capture and maintain the attention of the world at large, what we humans find relevant is accumulation of wealth and the battle for power and supremacy rendering the earth increasingly uninhabitable.Social media is a topic that is trending with few or no one discussing THE WORLD'S LAST MALE WHITE RHINO
GOD HELP US.

Well, I want to focus on the environmental issues. Nowadays, our planet has been going on to the hottest and the coldest weather so far. The nature has been sending signs to us that the Earth might collapsed one day and people is affecting little by little. I wish to address this issue more. And since the creator bestowed us the right to live in this planet, I hope for more organizations and more people to do something so that we can prevent the nature's destruction.

as human beings who are granted the mind by God, then we should be able to think about our survival, about the prevention of pollution and the destruction of nature, the more days the more people who do not care and make the destruction of nature, such as factory smoke, industrial waste, and so that it certainly makes the nature farther away from the word safe and increasingly the day the danger, otherwise we are guarding it does not feel sorry for our future generation ??

I believe that the Earth's greatest threat is no other than human beings. What abusive acts people are doing, their greediness, and selfishness is what makes the Earrh threatened. Yes, change is inevitable and is necessary for progress and development. However, it is our sacred duties and responsibility, as an higher order creatures, to take good care of the Earth and make sure that the change happening is good and is beneficial to our planet. People nowadays are onky thinking for themselves and what os good for them not knowing that they are gradually destroying their own hone and the next generation's future. People whom supposedly in-charge in preserving and conserving the Earth's resources, are the ones who destroys it.

one of the most scariest creatures here in the planet are humans. since humans can do anything they want, aside from they are at the top of the food chain and has higher intellect than other living organisms. this has also been the most controversial issue, because a persons mindset is much scarier than anything else in this world, and it is also been the one who destroys the ecosystem.

Sure there are many threats. That's why we have to keep progressing technologically so we can counter them (like the astroids etc). As mentioned before one of the biggest is humans themselves. We should all be obligated to do a 10 day vipassana retreat to figure out what really is important. I think that would make some real changes.

Climate change is most importantly an issue since individuals can't concur on regardless of whether it's an issue in any case. Before we even get into the arrangements, we as a whole (paying little mind to political gathering) need to go to the acknowledgment that yes, environmental change is genuine and yes, it is influencing us in ways that we can see and feel. On the off chance that despite everything you trust that the abnormal climate and warmth waves we've been encountering have nothing to do with environmental change, you should need to ask your neighbor what he or she supposes in light of the fact that the greater part of Americans say they accept an Earth-wide temperature boost is causing these occurrences.

I think the earth greatest threat is earthquake, this has caused memorial damages that worth Billon's of dollars in different part of the word. Japan has experience most recorded earth quake in the world. The largest quake ever recorded was near Valdivia, in southern Chile on May 22, 1960. It was measured at a magnitude of 9.5, lasted for 10 minutes and triggered a tsunami. Estimates of the number killed by the natural disaster in Chile vary between 1,000 and 6,000.

Exactly, and saving this beautiful planetary home would require some serious awakening of the consciousness, and assuming the responsibility for our actions and inactions. I strongly believe that there is, in fact, a small step every one of us can take literally every day (and in some cases many times a day) to reduce our negative impact. Because otherwise we are just moving towards the collective suicide, often without even realizing that!

The Earth greatest threats is Deforestation. The wild forests are being destroyed, especially in the tropics, often to make way for cattle ranching, soybean or palm oil plantations, or other agricultural monocultures.
Today, about 30 percent of the planet's land area is covered by forests - which is about half as much as before agriculture got started around 11,000 years ago. About 7.3 million hectares (18 million acres) of forest are destroyed each year, mostly in the tropics.

I agree that it is the humans that pose the greatest threat. We are the ones who took advantage of the earth's resources and we comprise the government whose role is help enforce policies in order to conserve said resources. There is reason why the term "manpower" exists. It's because we are capable of either destroying or saving our planet. It really is up to us. We hold this power in everyday life too... we have the capacity to create and achieve our goals. Our successes and failures depend on us.

Unfortunately this is true, I agree with this. The decades of exploitation of natural resources lay
waste and damage. The effects of industrialisation throughout the years has accelerated the
depletion and destruction of Earth’s precious resources. We are our own worst enemy.
It’s a struggle to even reverse the effects and we are running out of time.

Earth's natural disasters and calamities is it's own way of balancing things out, it's a natural
order of things that tries to restore and adapt. War and the endless neglect of human civilizations
with mother earth has led to it's ongoing demise. People have taken this planet for granted.
Modernization and the pollution it excretes to the environment is our own making. Humans are
the architects of Earth's greatest threats.

We are the world's greatest threat. We have to act now and save our Mother Earth because if we don't care right now, OUR future generation will suffer the consequences.

From what is happening, the only thing we can do is to wait for the clean energy to appear. A lot of technologies can't be separated to our daily life and it is the same to most of the people these days. There are a lot of laws protectingour nature but we can see that most of them are not that effective.

I hope our world will not be destroyed by us humans, but from what this road goes, I think we really are.

We humans are the greatest threats to the world. Having said that I think that climate is currently our biggest issue. In Denmark we've experienced record temperatures and had the warmest month of may in 139 years (as long as we could record temperature).

Something is really wrong and it's terrifying to think that storms, hurricanes and such are getting amplified due to the planet heating. Unfortunately I will take a lot to change and due to powerfull lobbyism it probably won't happen soon.

I think that environmental issues are the biggest threat. The Earth's population has grown very rapidly over a relatively short period of time. Along with population growth, technology has improved in leaps an bounds! This has required and allowed us to produce way more than we did before. We are generating so much pollution and waste. I think this is the biggest issue we're dealing with, though I think many countries are already making great progress to improve the situation. I hope we will see good solutions to combat this threat throughout the world. I heard that McDonald's is testing non-plastic straws and they might introduce them worldwide eventually.

I don't think we should just sit back and wait for clean energy. Resources are depleting and humanity is already threatened. You mentioned technology. I think that can be our only hope. Aside from space colonization, I heard virtual and augmented realities are also being tapped. These technologies apparently, can be used for life-extension. What do you think is the probability of the success of these technologies?

If humans could just be wiser, I think the earth would be at less risk. Too much harm and destruction is unleashed on this earth because of our stupidity. We attempt to get the most profit mostly without considering the consequences. I somehow believe that the planet has been placed in our care. So, if harm comes to it, it's our responsibility to fix it. But the reverse is the case. We are rather the ones causing it the greatest harm. So, in the midst of so many other factors, humans appear to be Earth's greatest threat.

From all that is written i ca see a common denominator, "humans". A saying that all problems humans are facing are caused by humans is kind of true. Wars, global warming, pollution, crime, and even disease that are created or arise due to humans interference with nature or biological inventions. Sorry but we humans are the greatest threat to the earth and we are paying a very great price for this.

I remember a quote in the avatar movie where Sulley said: they killed their mother and they will do the same here. Definitely, it looks like we are good at destroying. The planet is really suffering because of us. Human beings have caused more threats than good on Earth. Even dinosaurs were not so terrible. From forests to oceans, we destroy whatever we find. In a way, we do it because we want to survive. On the other hand, by destroying the planet, we destroy ourselves. We cannot survive the destruction of our home-world. We need to find a solution and fight for our planet. It is the only place where we can live.

The earth's greatest threat really is the inhabitants itself. Some of us are in denial of the fact that we are all responsibility for what is happening on our planet right now. Climate change, the marine life dying due to water pollution, air pollution, all of that are caused by us. Perhaps if we just took responsibility and start giving back by taking care of our environment then we can save whatever can still be saved.

The one of a sign I see clearly is the decreasing of butterfly population (In the major city of Indonesia). The environmental issues and air pollution become worse day by day. A lot of viral news in Indonesia about a snake that eating the whole human body, an elephant that been killed, and reptile that killing a human. I believe the root of the problem is the deforestation problem. The greed of the company and any centralized entities for their own profit hardly affect the environmental issue.

Earth’s Greatest Threats is rising of Islam and Muslim Population.  You can see it in whole of Europe if you read Voice of Europe and https://www.politicalislam.com/  very good and authentic information can be found here
It appears terrorism is the greatest threat facing humanity now.

You are all ignoring the basic fact of an environmental issue. This why the issues are hardly become solved, it is required a self-awareness and education about it. Its not completely the government jobs to solve it all, its need ourself to be able helpful for the world even it small things.

You are really mistaken. Terrorism is horrible, but it is nowhere near the greatest threat we're facing. How about some statistics for you:
Quote
    – You are 17,600 times more likely to die from heart disease than from a terrorist attack

    – You are 12,571 times more likely to die from cancer than from a terrorist attack

    — You are 11,000 times more likely to die in an airplane accident than from a terrorist plot involving an airplane

    — You are 1048 times more likely to die from a car accident than from a terrorist attack

–You are 404 times more likely to die in a fall than from a terrorist attack

    — You are 87 times more likely to drown than die in a terrorist attack

    – You are 13 times more likely to die in a railway accident than from a terrorist attack

–You are 12 times more likely to die from accidental suffocation in bed than from a terrorist attack

–You are 9 times more likely to choke to death on your own vomit than die in a terrorist attack

–You are 8 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than by a terrorist

–You are 8 times more likely to die from accidental electrocution than from a terrorist attack

    – You are 6 times more likely to die from hot weather than from a terrorist attack
Source: https://www.infowars.com/statistics-show-you-are-not-going-to-be-killed-by-terrorism/

These numbers are for American citizens I believe, but they even include deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq. The number will differ from country to country, but not that much. There are so many more things to worry about than terrorism. The governments wants you to be scared of terrorism, so they take more of your rights away and distract you from their corruption.

There's countless threats to earth but just to put a different spin on it, I'll leave you with a quote from Robert Swan who said:

"The greatest danger to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it."

It shouldn't be just environmentalists saving our planet, every person should do more. When we finally wake up and realize that war is not the answer, then instead of recruiting troops for a mandatory service of 1year +, every country could recruit young people to go on environmental missions. I've always believed traveling is one of the most awarding things we can do on this planet. If each and every young person were given the opportunity to learn and travel the world, while saving our planet, we could actually make a difference.

This has to be the the simplest question ever. Its definitely climate change. Care must be taken to actually circumvent this from accelerating further than it is. Countries and lives are going to be lost. Dependence on fossil fuels and other human activities enable this. Luckily, much effort is being put into obtaining a sustainable future through sustainable energy among a whole lot. Surely the future looks bright but will only happen if we all actively engage in it.

That's a great quote! Thanks for sharing. That actually reminds me of another quote. I think it goes along with yours. Google tells me the quote is attributed to Hillel first- century Jewish scholar, “If not you, then who? If not now, when?” People definitely need to think more about the role they play in the world. The mandatory volunteer service could be interesting. I think that Germany has some kind of option like that instead of the military.

It's possible that our near-sightedness and general disrespect for ourselves and nature will cause homo sapiens to meet a similar fate.. I don't think this will be the case though, as we are resourceful and there are enough forward-thinking people among us who are currently coming up with various alternatives to standard life on earth-space colonization, mind uploading, etc. Also feel like after this summer people are starting to realize the extent of which the damage we've caused and will start giving a shit.

I believe that the greatest threat of our planet is humans also. This is just simply because all that problems that is happening in our world is because of us. Like for example, the depletion of ozone layer is due to us that continuously using things that releases toxic chemical and another thing is that we keep on cutting trees. We all should be enlightened that we do really caused those problems but we are also the ones who are capable to do something to control and minimize those issues.

Another one of the biggest threats is govnt over reach in my opinion it has gotten too big and too powerful and the people that run it are too dumb and do nothing except get in the way of true progress, it's like anything that we want to do to make the world a better place these old fu**s have some sort of problem with it because they are too old and really someone that old does not belong in that position of power they are not aware of the world today they lived in a different time and all they are doing is slowing down good progress with their dumb repressive laws!

I think the problems in the world are directly related to the rate of growth of mankind on earth - and this is the main reason. Man destroys nature from that and all these cataclysms described in National Geographic. Just think about these numbers.
During the first 500 years of the second Millennium, The world's population has increased by about 1.5 times, the second - 12 times, and only in the last - the 20th century - almost 4 times. The acceleration in population growth is well reflected in the number of years in which the World's population has increased by 1 billion inhabitants. Such C show that the population of the Earth has reached the population:

in 1 billion people - in 1820, i.e. in the history of its development;

2 billion people in 1927 - after 107 years,

3 billion people in 1960 - 33 years later,

4 billion people in 1974 - after 14 years,

5 billion people in 1987 after 13 years,

6 billion people in 1999 - 12 years later.

As you can see, the accumulation of the first billion inhabitants of the Earth took several tens of thousands of years, while the 6th billion of them appeared in the last 12 years.

Thus, the 20th century was the period of the fastest growth of the world population. The General accumulation of the human mass was pushed by the entry of an increasing number of countries into the period of sharply expanded reproduction of the population-the demographic revolution

A billion here, a billion there, those billions add up.

I mean, we could get to a billion per hour or per microsecond. The planet's weight would increase so fast it would collapse on itself like a black hole.

Yes, a lot of these problems have been exaggerated due to the population growth. I would just like to point out though that birthrates are going down. The growth is slowing down. We hit 7 billion in 2011, so another 12 years passed. The world population is not actually growing exponentially. The growth will continue to slow. We'll actually have some problems of underpopulation in some places. I think we're gradually becoming more responsible for how we're treating the Earth and we're getting better at it.

I believe ignorance is the greatest threat to our planet.

Ignorance is a broad topic, but I would like to focus on ignorance concerning nature and the environment. Here's one example that I experienced first-hand that perfectly depicts this problem:

My friend and I were arguing over the use of plastic straws. We were eating at a fastfood joint and I told him not to get straws for us because we can drink directly from the paper cups. He didn't get straws for the rest of us, but he got a straw for himself. We all told him that we're trying to save the environment by boycotting plastic straws, and we encouraged him to do so too.

He argued that many people will use straws anyway so why not just be part of the problem because trying to solve it is futile anyway, and that why should he be inconvenienced over such thing.

That is how the mindset of others are, and trust me, there are a lot of humans who think that way. Ignorance is NOT bliss.

However, I believe I was able to make him change his stance after I told him this reasoning: If more and more people refuse to use plastic straws, fastfood joints would have more in stock, making them order straws from suppliers less frequently. If they order less frequently, factories making the straws will have to create fewer supplies. It's the basic law of supply and demand.

If more and more people practice boycotting plastic and join in other efforts such as recycling and not littering, we may have a big impact on the effort to save the world.

Human beings have brought a lot of pollution to the earth. Especially after the Industrial Revolution, human beings depended on the power of science and technology to create a lot of water pollution, air pollution,  in ancient times not so much pollution.

But wasn’t technology designed to help us? The phone or device you’re using to make a post on this forum -- isn’t that because of the convenience of technology? I don’t think it’s the industrial revolution that should be blamed, but humanity. At the end of the day, we have control of how we live our lives and for so long, we took advantage of Mother Nature.
And the news will tell you that technology is again being explored to help save the planet –whether it’s a device to clean oceans or a method to deal with plastic, AI or virtual reality  --apart from humanity’s negligence, the advancement of technology to enhance our lives has been constant in history.

Antibiotic-resistant bacteria. We hear about it but I feel that for the most part, we tend to think that it's a problem that somebody else will tend to and figure out.
Totally agreeing. So called "super-germs" are on the rise and the most immediate threat to us. There are more and more infections which can be treated only with some hard antibiotics but standard antibiotics do not work anymore. Bacteria getting more aggressive and resistant to new antibiotics quicker than before. Certainly, this development is only partially due to wrong medical application.

It is mostly because of the antibiotics used in agriculture, especially in chicken, turkey and pork "mass-cultures". We consume antibiotics with the meat we eat an let allowing resistant bacteria to thrive on the one hand. On the other hand, the animals themselves produce multi-resistant bacteria which are easily transferred to humans if we do not handle the meat correctly.

But as many other mentioned, this also comes with our greed and exploitation of the resources of this planet. We wouldn't have that problem (to this extent), if the food production was free range and organic, rather than mass production, where animals need antibiotics so they don't get sick.

I think most of us agree on the fact that the human is one of the main cause of earth's destruction.
I would say that the human factor that have made the earth go wrong the most is overpopulation.
Remember that each human needs maintenance and earth has limited resources. If there is more humans, there
needs to be a broader distribution of the limited resources what means, less food/water, more poverty and more contamination.

Bioengineered pandemic;Natural pandemics have killed more people than wars. However, natural pandemics are unlikely to be existential threats: there are usually some people resistant to the pathogen, and the offspring of survivors would be more resistant. Evolution also does not favor parasites that wipe out their hosts, which is why syphilis went from a virulent killer to a chronic disease as it spread in Europe.

In the 1850s we knew that carbon dioxide was a greenhouse gas.

In 1896 we knew that we were warming up the planet.

in 1990 we decided globally to reduce emissions.

Emissions have been increasing all the way up to 2018, 28 years after we decided that we were going to drop emissions.

The co2 in the atmosphere is increasing by around 3ppm per year. A ridiculous rate.

Somehow I don't think our cute little climate pacts like Paris are going to slow this trend.

The burning of coal, as it causes the atmosphere to heat up also paradoxically offsets some of the heating at the same time through the emission of particulates that drop the temperature.

Those particulates drop out of the atmosphere in a few weeks, CO2 stays up there for centuries. So when you stop burning carbon (which you inevitably have to as it is a non-renewable source) the climate heats even further and much quicker.

The sixth mass extinction is underway and we're the cause of it.

It's arrogant to think that humans can survive while the ecosystem dies. We rely on the productivity of the environment as much as all the other animals (if not more).

All it takes is about 3 years of failed crops for most of us to die of starvation. Maybe some humans can survive almost like astronauts in their own planet. But that's all that might be left.

I believe we have a real shot of survival if our technology somehow transcends the planet we live off off currently.

If I read the subject matter correctly 'Earths Greatest Threats'.... None of the above will effect earth in the long run.. they are the threats the civilisation and temporary life on earth but not a threat to earth itself.

Humanity is in my mind a stepping stone to our next either man made(ai) or environmental evolutionary step to the next level of existence, our destiny is to leave earth behind us eventually anyway in one form or another.

I'd say earths greatest threat is a huge astroid which will clash with earth and knock its axis even further out of its spin.. and then maybe change the course of earths rotation around the sun, and perhaps we will clash with mars..

Don't get caught up on being human.. we will in some way or another transcend this stepping stone in the evolutionary process, the limitations of our intelligence, our social and economical constructs.

Well, the good thing about climate change is that when they cause catastrophies, they tend to clean the atmosphere again and start fresh. When floods hit the cities or earthquake shake the urban places, the people stop building things there and find another place and that's the time the place start recovering.

in my oppinion greatest threats are humans, their fear, their greed, their panic, and possible assosiations that find together to reach goals at the expense of others. like bitcoin for example.
I agree, and that human greed destroys our planet. Ruining the natural form of of earth. We are not contented on what the nature gives us, we always want more, and more and more. That we didn't think how will it affect the entire human beings.

Twenty-first century threats to our environment—including invasive species, diseases, pollution, and a warming climate—are putting wildlife populations at risk.

Interesting you mentioned that “shot of survival if our technology somehow transcends the planet we live off currently.” Because I often come across articles and even posts about how emerging technologies such as augmented and virtual realities are working to do just that –particularly, saving the planet by creating a shared virtual space where everything is digitized. I heard this could happen in a few decades. Have you heard about it?

This is one of the greatest challenges that faces us.
Even if we manage to "heal" the planet and create a proper sustainable way of life for the human race, eventually the sun will stop shining and humans will disappear unless we find a way to create a sustainable life not based on a planet.

Superintelligence;Intelligence is very powerful. A tiny increment in problem-solving ability and group coordination is why we left the other apes in the dust. Now their continued existence depends on human decisions, not what they do. Being smart is a real advantage for people and organisations, so there is much effort in figuring out ways of improving our individual and collective intelligence: from cognition-enhancing drugs to artificial-intelligence software.

Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology is the control over matter with atomic or molecular precision. That is in itself not dangerous – instead, it would be very good news for most applications. The problem is that, like biotechnology, increasing power also increases the potential for abuses that are hard to defend against.

George Carlin said the Earth is fine. Even if the eruption of supevulkan will destroy 90% of life on the planet, it will still be in order. Do not worry for the Earth. But the people of course the end. But the universe doesn't care.

Changes in the Sun will occur only in about 10 billion years. I really doubt that humanity will exist that long, considering all factors.

All in all, humans and everything created by them are the threat to Earth. But - is it really threat to Earth? it may be rendered not-suitable for living, as it was during some period of time after meteor falling almost wiped the whole life on the planet, but look how it is now - almost no traces of past catastrophe.
It`s more correct to say 'threats to humanity', as nothing will happen to Earth.

There isn’t anything to show that artificial intelligence is going to be a threat to the Earth in the future, your worries are pulled from fiction movies. But still I’d say that Mankind is the greatest threat to the earth.

Our planet has been going on to the hottest and the coldest weather so far. The nature has been sending signs to us that the Earth might collapsed one day and people is affecting little by little. I wish to address this issue more. And since the creator bestowed us the right to live in this planet, I hope for more organizations and more people to do something so that we can prevent the nature's destruction.

My definition of a "threat" is anything that jeopardizes life's collective well-being.

The only threats worth paying attention to are those that can be controlled, which are a lot more than we may think.

Wars, epidemics, and climate change are all threats that can be eliminated if we were to combine all of the available technologies to create a blockchain-based 3D society.
