Title: Adding 200A service
Post by: kijuy on May 25, 2018, 01:04:39 AM
In united states, anyone knows who should I contact to add another 200A service to my garage? Power supply company or electrician? I currently have one 200A service in basement which is fully occupied.

Probably the Electrician. He anyway will install the new panel and can guide you with power distribution company.

Contact an electrician to come look at it and give you an estimate of the costs involved.  You also need to contact the power company to see if they will allow you to increase your service. In many populated areas they will have a limit as to how much power you can have per residential address. If you live in a more rural area there's a better chance that they will be able and willing to supply more power to your address.

Thanks for the info. What are the best reasons I can use to add the service? I am not sure setting up a bunch of computers for mining crypto is the best excuse:)
