http://blockr.info/images/0.pngAbout blockr.io block explorer
http://blockr.info/images/blank30-bg.jpgBlockr.io lives in the digital coins world, parsing transactions (http://blockr.io/trivia/tx) and blocks (http://blockr.io/trivia/block) of coins to a human-readable form
and presents them to users in a friendly and intuitive way. API access (http://blockr.io/documentation/api) is also available for automatic scripts.
Blockr.io was evolving for 6 months in private beta without interruptions, and it can parse and present data
from almost any digital currency running on bitcoind fork.

You can use bookmarks to quickly access your own addresses (http://blockr.io/bookmarks) and you can see their balances.
Interesting transactions and blocks can also be bookmarked, twitted or posted on Facebook.
No user data are stored on the server; all bookmarks are saved locally on the user's computer in local storage.

You can see interesting facts about the coin blockchain through trivia sections (http://blockr.io/trivia) and through graphs (http://blockr.io/charts).

http://blockr.info/images/blank30-bg.jpgBlockr.io parses blocks and transactions for everyone to see.
All elements (blocks (http://blockr.io/block/info/281521), transactions (http://blockr.io/tx/info/91b2e9233e505a72d32517e5ec87507d9bac3a0349e04b057552c70eee5aabea) and addresses (http://blockr.io/address/info/1FfmbHfnpaZjKFvyi1okTjJJusN455paPH)) from the longest branch can be searched and bookmarked.

http://blockr.info/images/2.pngCharts
http://blockr.info/images/blank30-bg.jpgCharts are a nice way of visualizing how and what the blockchain is doing.
You can select 30 days, 180 days or all time-data feed in order to find interesting points in history.

http://blockr.info/images/3.pngTrivia
http://blockr.info/images/blank30-bg.jpgBlockchain contains lots of interesting facts.
Some of them are displayed in the trivia section:

http://blockr.info/images/4.pngAPI
http://blockr.info/images/blank30-bg.jpgAPI's are here to help developers access our internal database. We made API's to access coin data,
block, transaction and address information, unspent tx (http://blockr.io/documentation/api) and much more.
APIs are free to use as long as you don't flood the system.

Coin api (http://blockr.io/documentation/api)
  • Block info
  • Block transactions
  • Raw block data

Tx api (http://blockr.io/documentation/api)
  • Transaction info
  • Raw transaction data

Unconfirmed tx api (http://blockr.io/documentation/api)
  • Unconfirmed transaction info

Address api (http://blockr.io/documentation/api)
  • Address info
  • Address balance
  • Address transactions
  • Unspent transactions
http://blockr.info/images/blankFull-bg.jpg

http://blockr.info/images/5.pngNetwork info
http://blockr.info/images/blank30-bg.jpgNetwork info shows current network happenings: last unconfirmed transactions that still need to be accepted into blocks,
current block number and date, last and next difficulty...

http://blockr.info/images/network.jpg (http://blockr.io)

http://blockr.info/images/6.pngPrice indicator
http://blockr.info/images/blank30-bg.jpgBlockr.io periodically checks the biggest markets for current coin price. This price is informative
as we have no direct links to markets. It's for public to quickly see how their favourite coin is doing.

http://blockr.info/images/7.pngDonations
http://blockr.info/images/blank30-bg.jpgBlockr.io runs on donations (http://blockr.io/donate) - we hope that coin communities will understand
that having blockr around helps them. It's all about having a site where you can easily check
your address and having stable APIs for developers. Please consider and donate if you are able to.

I recommend the addition a "global average" from bitcoinaverage.com to the list of price sources for your home page (even recommend such a source as a default).  The reason being that the prime function of this service is to provide the market price whereas the prime function of the exchanges listed is to facilitate trade.

Also, you may have some data sanity issues behind some of your charts.  Litecoin's "Avg Block Fee" and Digitalcoin's "Transactions Per Address" each have a strange data-point at the moment.

It'd be cool if it also had the ability to show you how much your bookmarked addresses are worth, in USD.

Yes, that is a significant drawback.  However, glass half full, it's not reliant on Flash.

Used it last night when blockchain went down for service.  Gotta admit, it was pretty fkn sweet.  Love the add of some alts, just don't understand the Megacoin/Quark/Digital add.  The devs big bag holders or something?

I got some DGC, but I am curious why those three alts were added versus the myriad of choices.

Totally get the LTC and Peer add.

Very nice!

I must say Blockr.io is a very good service!
I know people around who say that it is better than a Blockchain.

Regards!

"a blockchain"? There are more?

(perhaps you mean "blockchain.info", a website which allows to view live transactions happening on the Bitcoin blockchain)

I though that adding .info is not needed as all of us know that this is the only one :-)

And yesterday blockr.io was very needed as blockchain.info was down for several hours.

I really like your block explorer but make it more user friendly to check transactions or give me a manual, maybe I'm doing something wrong!
I find it a little difficult to follow transactions on your block explorer!

I am building something similar for myself for learning purposes and I wanted to ask how do you do the parsing of the .dat files? Are you using https://code.google.com/p/blockchain or something else that I could use as well?

@blockr.io May I know what is the genesis block URL on your site ?

I found http://blockr.io/block/info/1 with block hash 00000000839a8e6886ab5951d76f411475428afc90947ee320161bbf18eb6048

But this is the second block. Genesis block was with block hash 000000000019d6689c085ae165831e934ff763ae46a2a6c172b3f1b60a8ce26f

i. http://blockexplorer.com/block/000000000019d6689c085ae165831e934ff763ae46a2a6c172b3f1b60a8ce26f

ii. https://blockchain.info/block/000000000019d6689c085ae165831e934ff763ae46a2a6c172b3f1b60a8ce26f

Moreover, the block hash stated here (http://blockr.io/block/info/genesis) does not match with the one stated here (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Genesis_block). Can u please confirm why ?

Since this is the official blockr thread, I'll post it here.

What's going on with this site recently? It has been running slow for a few weeks now, and it's only getting worse. I use blockr.io as my main explorer since blockchain.info has been buggy and relatively slow, but where blockr.io has gained itself some superiority over blockchain.info a while back, the gap has started to slim down again...
