Title: Re: Need ONE x16 to x16 Riser Post by: matt4054 on January 30, 2014, 02:34:02 AM If your GPU is not detected with x1-to-x16 risers when you put the PCI-e x1 riser in PCI-e x16 slots on the MB, use a small wire, preferably with solid ends, and jump pin B81 to pin A1. Then your system should detect your card. It worked for me and many others.
When used for scrypt mining, there are no tradeoff when using only x1 bus width instead of x16 Hope this helps, as x16 risers are very hard to find at the moment, especially powered ones. Apparently, it's *generally* not needed. It depends on how the MB deals with PRSNT. For some MBs, some need to do it for all slots. Some only for some slots. In my case, I only need to do it for x16 slots.
