See my post at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=436423.msg4809206#msg4809206 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=436423.msg4809206#msg4809206)  Basically, its not worth it to spend money on GPUs for mining.  They just can't pay off their power cost any more.  If you want to start a mining operation to actually turn a profit (maybe) you will need to look at buying ASIC hardware.

I think he might be talking about scrypt mining...
Anyway, in that case the winner should be 7950 or R9 280X.

I have two 7950 which I use on scrypt mining different altcoins and I can say that they are pretty reliable.
