Hi Forum,

in the past I had some ZTEX FPGA Boards to mine BTC.
Now i reactivated them using LTC Mining. And hey... it's profitable ;-)
(approx. 64kHs/1.15y-board)

Step-by-step guide for Linux systems:
(<xxx> are placeholders ;-)

1. check out cgminer
   git clone https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer.git

2. get version 3.1.1
   git checkout v3.1.1

3. checkout FPGA Litecoin Miner
   git clone https://github.com/kramble/FPGA-Litecoin-Miner.git

4. copy patch to cgminer
   cp experimental/Ztex-1-15y/cgminer-3.1.1/* <your cgminer base path>

5. copy binary to cgminer bitstreams (override original)
   cp experimental/Ztex-1-15y/ztex_ufm1_15y1-ltc-v04-1core-ucf-46-fmax-46.bit <your cgminer base path>/bitstreams/ztex_ufm1_15y1.bit

6. configure cgminer
   ./autogen.sh
   CFLAGS="-O2" ./configure --enable-ztex --enable-icarus --enable-scrypt --disable-opencl

7. compile and install cgminer
   make
   sudo make install

tested with ubuntu 12.04 and 2 original ZTEX 1.15y2 boards

WARNING: may damage your board... (i run it since 3 days without probs...)

now running a bunch of ZTEX 1.15y2 boards (hopefully) without problems.

each board takes approx. 24W/64kHs

edit: heatsinks remains cold. maybe i could try a fanless run :-)

one of them will run this night without fans. tomorrow i'll see stats about hashing power and report them ;-)

At 64kh, isn't it better to just ebay them? I'm showing a payback period of >290 days, assuming zero difficulty increases...

where can I buy these boards used?

got 5 ztex quads (1 with only 3 cores working), 19 ztex singles and 10 enterpoint cm1...
located in germany... pn if intressted...

running fanless without any problems nor overheating


at this time it's not profitable to sell SPARTAN-6 boards as they are more worth than people are willing to pay.

I'm trying to get this running on my ztex 1.15y fpga boards and I'm getting following invalid nonce errors:

I have forced the frequency to 100MHz (lowest setting possible) and still getting this.
Anyone have and idea where to look?

64KH? hmmmm

I think its more profitable to by those AUD-$45 : LTC/BTC Usb Dual miners 70KHs and it uses much less power than 24w Even that it will probably make u 2 cents a day << Just a guesstimate lol
