Title: Bitcoins not received
Post by: BMiller on June 05, 2018, 12:02:24 AM
Hello,  I am a newbie to bitcoin, I have only done a couple of transfers and those were through 2 different wallets.. (thats another story).. Anyway.. so I came across Bitcoin Armory for a wallet so I registered, I then made a withdrawal from Bitstamp to my Armory wallet.. Well its been about 8 hours and it still has not made it to my Armory wallet.  I do not know what to do.  Bitstamp has confirmed the transfer to Armory.  Can you please assist me in this matter, I would greatly appreciate it.

Is your Armory wallet synced and online? Do you know that Armory runs on a full node, so you need the whole blockchain to see and spend your coins?

Check here if your address is in that list

Also check if
https://blockchain.info/address/****
***=Your address

Your armory wallet is just an interface to the blockchain. If your funds are there , it's just a bug on the wallet. Reinstall it or try another wallet using the same seed

You have two options:

a. Download the whole blockchain (~170gb);
b. Import your private-key in an SPV wallet and spend the funds immediately.

Option A:

1. Open Armory;
2. Go to the "Announcements" tab;
3. Click "Secure Downloader" on Bitcoin Core at the bottom;
4. After finishing the download, close Armory, install Bitcoin Core and don't run it (uncheck the "Run Bitcoin Core"checkbox);
5. Open Armory again and let it synchronize (it will take a few hours/days).

After finishing, you should see your coins.

Option B:

1. Go to your wallet properties;
2. Click "Backup this wallet" -> "See Other Backup Options";
3. Select "Export Key Lists" and click the bottom button with the same name;
4. A new window will open. Only check "Address String" and "Private Key (Plain Base58)";
5. Look for your address at the list and copy the 'PrivBase58' text right next to it.

This is your private key. DON'T SHARE IT WITH ANYONE.

Now download Electrum (https://electrum.org/#download) and when creating a new wallet, select:

1. "Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys" -> Enter your private-key from step 5 -> Next;
2. Now you should see your funds;

I suggest you create a new wallet by going to File -> New/Restore. And following the wizard normally (Standard Wallet -> Create a new seed -> Standard -> Save the seed (DON'T LOSE IT) -> Set-up password, etc... Then, just move your coins from the first wallet that you created by importing your private-key to this one you just created (with the seed). Use this wallet instead of the one from Armory.

Whenever you use a new wallet, i suggest you do it on a virtual machine. if downloading a wallet needs you to download an EXE file.

1-check this , replace**** for the address you gave bitstamp
https://blockchain.info/address/****

2- everything ok? Btc transferred? Then go to your wallet. Does it show your btc?
If there is no btc, then you transferred to worng address or bitstamp didn't transfer.

3 if wallet doesn't show the btc transferred.... Do you have the privatekeys?
Do you have 24 words?(passphrase)

4insiert your privatekey or 24 /12 words in coinomi wallet, or Electrum
Your money will be there.

Bitmover, I know you are trying to help, but you need to read the previous posts before making a new one. As I said, I'm pretty sure the issue is that OP hasn't synced his wallet (Armory runs as a full node, so you need the whole Bitcoin blockchain to keep it update). OP already posted the tx id above and said that BitStamp did transfer the coins to his address and that there is already more than 167 confirmations.

Let him do the steps I described in my previous post.

I am sorry TryNinja
You are right. I didn't know armory was full node. I just answered what he asked and didn't read your posts.

TryNinja,  Option B was PERFECT :)  The instructions were easy to understand and went through instantly.  Thank you so very much :)
