Many companies that is using bitcoin and the blockchain particularly some ICO's recently are being launch involving the betterment, improvement or something that will sustain our environment but is it enough to do its part or what it promises in its vision and mission? because the next tough part after the launch is how can they implement it effectively using bitcoin or the blockchain? are the world ready for it?

Bitcoin or the blockchain is not a magic wand which will save the environment. On the flip side, crypto currency mining requires hell lot of power to operate that is actually harmful to the environment. I too have came across few such ICOs who are trying to build decentralized waste management and recycling  service, decentralized hydro power mining operations and solar powered mining and electrification initiatives. But these ICOs are at a very nascent stage and didn't show any result yet.

If they start their operations, they probably won't add to the existing environmental burden around us but won't reduce it as well to any significant extent. So saving the environment is out of question. Blockchain is only being used as an operational method by these companies. As more research will happen in the crypto space, we will probably see more new ideas on how effectively we can use blockchain for the betterment of our environment, but it's too early to comment now.

I don't see how the blockchain or btc can save the environment, if the environment needs saving in the first place it's people who can do it through governmental regulation and awareness projects, technologies specific to that problem and directly works to solve it.

I don't think that Bitcoin can save the environment but Blockchain tech can definitely have a positive effect on things. It has been well documented the negative effects that Bitcoin mining and other forms of coins using a Proof Of Work consensus algorithm have had on the environment, in terms of energy consumption, when it comes to mining those coins in certain countries. This effect has been noticed by governments such as the Chinese government which is looking to totally cut out mining in their country since cities like Shenzhen have been feeling the effect of this physical form of mining. Bitcoin won't really have a positive effect on the environment unless there is a change to greener solutions such as Proof Of Stake models which entail potential beneficial impacts of models like Proof Of Ambassador within position papers I've read, ie. Bitcoin Origin, which has more of a view to the sustainability of the project in the long term without a negative effect on the environment that brute force mining has.

Blockchain technology can be applied to such fields as environmental protection, waste recycling and so on.
However, the mining of cryptocurrency will surely have a certain degree of use of resources, and it will also harm the environment.
But for some poor countries, they would rather sacrifice the environment and exchange for the economy.

Too early to give substantial information since the blockchain technology is still on its embryonic stage. The idea of eliminating fiat by replacing it with currency that exists electronically may have benefits in the community and in the environment (as fiats are composed of mixed metals and paper) but the trade-off might be worse. Like what others mentioned, mining bitcoin requires tremendous power and energy in order to sustain and power CPUs. Even if some ICOs are proclaiming that their project may be beneficial to the environment, it will inevitably harm the environment on a different aspect.

Like what I mentioned, the blockchain is still on its early stages and further developments must be introduced in order to embrace this idea. Who knows, maybe in the future, people would develop a system wherein it both benefits the environment and the community- making it a win-win situation.

Not save but help to some part of environment. And after saving there is our slay what we will do.

I don´t see the possitive causality between bitcoin and the environment - on contrary confirming and validating transactions in the proof of work scheme consume a lot of electrical power, which is not good for the environment at all. But changing to the proof of stake or using alternative sources of energy could definitely make a change.

I think for a while the world is not ready yet, but I am sure for the future the world will be ready for all, and will bring the future forward.

I don't know if it could help or detrimental to the environment. But in my opinion the consumable number of electric supply could sum up in to a large amount of demand. And this is could be a bad news for the environment.

Unfortunately no. As much as these so called companies promise to save the environment through bitcoin this will merely scratch the surface. The number 1 contributor of pollution that slowly destroys the environment is actually Us. No matter how many companies joined forces to save the environment it will all came down to us, being the most dominant species and consumer of natural resources given by the environment if we dont stop polluting our oceans and exhausting our energy there will be no changes at all.
Take bitcoin mining for example. It consumes a lot of energy and also include fossil fuel consumption that contributes to the greenhouse effect that resulted into global warming. Unless we change our way of life and we learn how to dump our wastes properly then we cant provide a lasting solution to our environmental problems.

Any production leads to an external environment. So we will not stop making cars, plastic, rubber. The main thing in this problem is to create conditions for minimal impact. A better program to restore damaged eco-systems.

As for bitcoin mining, we can use solar energy, it's a pity that it is just beginning. in the near future I think this problem will be solved

Bitcoin mining needed that much energy so what do you is the impact of that to the environment?

But if those mining hardware are placed to the suitable places where the climate is very cold and I think there's no impact that it will bring to the environment. Can't say a thing about the environmental effect of blockchain but we'll see about it in the near future.

I can not see any possibility that the Blockchain or BTC can save the environment. If the environment is needed to protect it, then it can be done by people who are involved in various activities of government control agencies and awareness programs. Bitcoin or blockchain environment can save people. And that person can save the environment. However, it can also be done through technology.

When we say environment it means we are talking about external work, and that's the need of a manual people's work around, i dont think that bitcoin or blockchain can saved our envirenment.

Yes, there are now so many companies that take crypto and blockchain in their promotion, but on average after they launch their platforms, they do not use blockchain technology in their platform. It shows that they have not fully believed in blockchain.

the blockchain is a new technology that has the function to perform peer to peer transactions, without third parties. and it will be very easy. and save time and cost. security is also very good.

the blockchain is perfect, but the blockchain must adjust to the conditions of the times in order to maintain its existence. but there are still many people who are not ready to accept technology blockchain, with the reason is they do not understand technology.

Maybe, with bitcoin and blockchain is can save the environment, because both of the technology implemented a paperless transaction, so it can save the environment, however with the increasing usage it will make the electricity consumption become bigger and bigger, and the mining consume too many electricity that can pollute the environment, so until there is greener way to mine, I dont see bitcoin could save the environment

Blockchain has already done many things for the environment but bitcoin didn't. Environment is not depend on bitcoin or blockchain. It depend on us how we thinking about our environment. So I don't think that bitcoin and blockchain can save the environment.

But Bitcoin and blockchain might help a bit, fiat payment systems are consuming way more electricity than Bitcoin mining, so with technologies like Lightning Network efficiency can be significantly improved. Blockchain might also have some impact, like for example with optimizing shipments, but it remains highly theoretical.

It is possible. They certainly can make a change. But it will need time and the also the people of underdeveloped countries need to come in contact with the technology first.

of course it can save the environment based on this many office are using green office and they are fully internet based so this both system is fully internet based so there is no chance to harm for environment so the environment will be suitable and healthy for us.

But the combination of bitcoin and blockchain can do many things to save the environment first of all it can save l9tmof man power and electrical energy and buildings created for the purpose of banks if everyone atarts using bitcoin then we no need banks and also the it can cut down ither payment methods because bjtcoin can be transacted over seas too with the same fee.

There are a lot of ICOs and project on environment related issues like greenhouse and tradeable renewal energy which I think if encourage will be able to help the environment better.

In my own opinion i will say that it is not possible for bticoin and blockchain to save environment because the power supply to promote bitcoin can harm the environment.

Unfortunately, many do not know the real value of Blockchain technology and even Bitcoin in this era, but I think that their success in development and continuity, especially in the last years, I saw many good projects related to Blockchain in different sections and even in medicine. Furthermore, the only problem is the bad decisions of the governments toward Bitcoin and regrettably they control the social media, like what happened in the last period (Google, Facebook, twitter ban the crypto ads), and even are manipulating the information, predictions, news in the media. Hope that everything will change foe better in the near future.

Definitely bitcoin will save the environment. Those who have bitcoin in future the will be rich. Bitcoin save the holders life. But it will take some time to change the environment.

The blockchain technology can be used to actually protect the environment via so many means...The technology can be applied for instance to supply chain management to help track products from manufacturers to the shelf and help prevent waste, inefficiency,fraud etc....and so many other fields.

I do not think that all the new ICO will do what they promise in relation to the environment. Although there are some projects that really benefit the environment by helping it such as energy saving etc.

Bitcoin or the blockchain is definitely not an enchantment wand which will spare nature. On the other side, digital currency mining requires damnation parcel of energy to work that is really hurtful to nature. I too have went over couple of such ICOs who are attempting to construct decentralized waste administration and reusing administration, decentralized hydro control mining tasks and sun based fueled mining and zap activities. In any case, these ICOs are at an extremely incipient stage and didn't demonstrate any outcome yet.

There is no big connection between the environment and the blockchain so you cannot get it affects environment resources but it will not be any dangerous to this environment
So I think blockchain will not be supposed to defects for the environment.

Blockchain is a young technology, particularly outside cryptocurrency applications, and is still in a process of optimization and evolution. Without a doubt, it will find ways to increase efficiency and reduce environmental impact although, for now, environmental factors should be considered when choosing a blockchain application.

My thoughts exactly. I was actually surprised to see such tread - how it is supposed to happen anyways? How bitcoin can safe the environment - it is more likely beauty to save the world, but blockchain>?!

I think bitcoin and blockchain both are hampering the environment a bit. Think, that to mine bitcoin or to operate blockchain, huge amount of energy is used. And to produce energy, we have to use oil or fuel which is not good for the environment. But this is true that if all the projects, that are using blockchain, make a plan to save the environment it would be beneficiary for all.

I think so people are expecting way too much from these new concepts. I mean these are not magical things which can solve all the problems of the world. Blockchain is already revolutionizing all the sectors of the economy like banking, insurance, healthcare, artificial intelligence, etc. yes it might benefit environment indirectly by reducing paperwork. But rest the citizens should understand their duty towards the environment.

Maybe for ICOS it may be, it depends on their objective but it will not entirely save or save the environment but it will at least help it to be stabilized

Bitcoin and blockchain both have brought an immense change to the technology and the concept of e-currency and its decentralization process have astonished the whole whole. It may more bring light to the future.

The application of blockchain brought a new taste in the digital currency world. It gives mo faster and more secured transactions.

There are many industries where I cannot fathom how the blockchain and having a coin makes and sense at all and energy is one of them (unless utility companies start getting on board).  I stay away from Energy projects a swell as tourism projects. 

Can bitcoin save the environment? Yes, of course. Qith correct using of bitcoin we will all be good in the future. Right now i am engaging myself to icos that has concern or mission about protecting, preserving our environment. I really admire that there are crypto like bitcoin that supports environment to make it what they were.
