Title: New mining calculator
Post by: ThePiachu on September 15, 2011, 05:54:06 PM
As I`m not out of the Newbie section, I`d like to share a mining calculator I made in a proper part of the forum. It was written in Go, running on Google App Engine, and available here:

http://tpbitcalc.appspot.com/

And the source code is available here:

Well, this topic hasn't been touched in a bit.

A new version of the TP's Bitcoin Calculator is up, sponsored by the Butterfly Labs. Pre-loaded specs for their ASIC miner, changed the block reward to 25BTC and removed a bit of clutter.

Make sure to use a realistic difficulty like 10x what it is now

Great and simple calculator. However would you consider to add a sort of optional difficulty growth feature, e.g. expressed in percentage?

Otherwise, current calculator structure could mislead many inexperienced miners when they estimate ROI (experienced miners mostly do not use external calculators anyway)

Well, one could just take a higher difficulty than the current one by some factor. I guess I could put that option in at some later date, perhaps with my next update. At the moment though, I'm a bit busy with other projects.
