What's new in 0.1.5:

This is full-featured wallet compatible with current Primecoin network (no any soft forks implemented), you can begin use it now instead of old Primecoin 0.1.2. How you can begin work with this wallet:

1. Synchronize from network.

2. Use bootstrap http://primecommunity.org/bootstrap.7z

Put bootstrap.dat file to data directory, no any difference with other Bitcoin-based wallets.

3. Use old client directory.

Client ask you about reindexing database, usually it takes 4-8 hours depends on hardware.
WARNING: index database format incompatible with old client! If you want continue use old Primecoin 0.1.2, backup your data directory with blocks, chainstate, index and wallet.dat!

About intermediary nodes.

Primecoin 0.1.2 cannot be block source for Primecoin Core wallet, to solve this problem was created intermediary wallet version 0.1.3. If you want support primecoin network, you can create intermediary node based on sources https://github.com/primecoin-ng/primecoin-intermediary (binary releases coming soon). Current release contains 5 hardcoded nodes for bootstrap, other nodes will be placed here.

Second: why you give bootstrap  file?
I now make syncing of new wallet and dont see any progress in speed. Why you instead zip content with already unpacked headers, as with all blocks so synced will be done in half of hour or even faster?
When syncing is over I will upload that kind of file, and you can transfer it to primecoin page ( I sow you have access for bootstrap file)

why are you tryin to take over primecoin the community didnt ask for this and you have most the network hash at your pool
which makes this look worse

Status of this wallet is alternative and full compatible with current network, like Elecrtum for BTC.
Last almost 5 year no any update from Primecoin developers.

Any wallet allow mining, if miner support it. xpmclient now is only pool miner, but it possible to add solo mining feature. Anyway, this discussion not for this thread.
First launch quite faster with bootstrap file than synchronization from network.
You need linearize script like this https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/tree/master/contrib/linearize, but compatible with Primecoin, it not ready for release now.

This new wallet works fine and synchronization speed is really impressive compared to old wallet.
xpmclient works fine for pool and solo mining for DTC.
Why it does not work for XPM solo mining?
Can you make xpmclient for solo mining with new wallet for XPM?

I think not good adding interfaces to wallet for third party miners. So, at this month I'll release separate solo mining server, compatible.. with all XPM wallets, DTC and other coins based on bitcoin.

Instructions

1.backup old wallet ( you only need wallet.dat)
2. delete all other files in dir where wallet.dat is  (so once more DONT delete wallet.dat)
3. start new wallet and wait few minutes then stop it
4. new wallet will start syncing so it will create few directories  in app data/ roaming
5. delete those directories and files inside it and replace it with data from snapshot.
6. start new wallet. syncing will be faster
7.enjoy in new wallet. :)

Excited to know that Primecoin will continue in development from now and beyond. It's been quite some time since the original developer had abandoned the cryptocurrency, focusing on Peercoin instead. Maybe with the new dev, Primecoin could reach a greater potential of becoming one of the leading cryptocurrencies in the market. I'm thinking that by integrating SegWit and the Lightning Network based on Bitcoin's latest codebase, Primecoin could perform better than ever. And maybe, it could improve its mining algorithm to a more robust one for finding prime numbers.

IMO, this is one of the most unique cryptocurrencies out there, simply because it has a unique approach to mining unlike most PoW coins in existence to date. I'm hoping that at least a CPU miner would appear for this coin, because last time I've checked, it wasn't available anymore (with the only option of choosing a GPU miner). Allowing Primecoin to also be mined with a CPU by releasing the miner, could greater expand the reach to average people who don't have dedicated GPUs for mining. As far as I know, Nexus is also minable with prime numbers and a CPU can be used to mine it. Perhaps, XPM could do the same in the future.

Nevertheless, if all goes well with the development, XPM could easily hit $1+ within the next months. ;)

how are you Primecoin? I haven't seen any important updates for more than 5 months,
is Primecoin still developing? I see the price goes up 1% is very good

Development have been resumed by Primecoin Foundation, in several days new official client 0.8.7 will be released.
Also this team works on enabling BIP65/BIP66, that needed by segwit and lightning network.

Anybody know of a mobile wallet that supports XPM? I have some in a paperwallet but are having a hard time imprting the priv key in the qt wallet. ::)
