Title: Decentralized Exchange VS Centralized Exchange.
Post by: MDIPANJAN on June 14, 2018, 05:41:47 PM
Both Centralized and Decentralized exchanges have their own goods and bads.
On which you would like to trade? And which one is going to be the the obvious choice in next 10 years?

Above everything which one seems more secure to us?

Decentralized exchanges were best in terms of anonymity and limits of withdrawal because in a centralized exchange a government can track your funds and now a days most exchanges needs you identification to withdraw funds but most of the people needs anonymity here that is what the decentralized exchange can give us.

Decentralized exchanges have a bright future. It is hard to believe right now, but it will be a year and everything can change. Centralized cryptocurrency exchanges are good but not the best in terms of safety when used. Moreover, incidences such as Mt. Gox hack and Bitfinex hack are not a news anymore as most of us know about it.

I agree with you and I believe in the next 10 years people will appreciate the decentralized exchange more than the centralized exchange because of the qualities that it has.

you are right that both have their respective advantages and disadvantages. perhaps in the future security is the main factor to choose an exchange, where we can be comfortable to trade there.

blockchain technology makes decentralized exchange safe and transparent, I prefer this type of exchange, because I can see every transaction in detail, in addition to feeling secure

The decentralized exchanges have the best future. But if they do not offer pairs with fiat it is difficult for them to win the market with the centralized ones.

both exchanges and trades have their own disadvantages and advantages but if I may choose to seek exchange I may find that is safe and not too difficult for me. especially the very important he was pending not too long and the fee is not too expensive. because it is very important for me to exchange and trade.

For some reason, I prefer Decentralized Exchanger, because trading at Decentralized exchanger is more simple and more transparent than Centralized exchanger. We don't need account Register and pass the KYC verification just for trading and withdrawal. Also, there's no Withdrawal limit in Decentralized exchanger...

There is only one benefit with centralized as far as I'm concerned and that is liquidity. This is simply the only reason everyone used Polo, Bittrex, Bitfinex, and now moving to Binance and Huobi and all the new centralized ones. But as soon as we can find a decentralized exchange that beats these guys in liquidity, we're all going to move there.

Security: trustless.
Fees: lower.
Manipulation: less risk.

What other excuse do we need?

I prefer only decentralized exchanges, i dont like verification, dont like limits. Sometimes i am starting to think that people forget about one of the main principles of crypto - anonymity.

It doesn't matter.
I trade where I can sell alt coins. Or tokens.
I prefer centralized if I can't sell it there than I use decentralized exchange.

I would choose decentralized exchange over the centralized one anytime. Although, they both have their own contributions to the ecosystem but also, most decentralized where people trade based on market forces are even tending towards centralization because of the way its being operated. Withdrawals and deposits are controlled manually, KYCs without which you can't withdraw etc. But a true decentralization with an an inbuilt escrow system and reasonable exchange fees is the best.

In decentralized exchanges you are in control of your funds at all times while centralized exchanges can be hacked, they can shut down or they can freeze your funds for any reason.

I have experienced for both but it doesn't matter to me if I'm trading with a decentralized exchange or not.

What matters to me is before trading to any exchange, I'm making sure that the token that I'm about to trade does have enough volume and people who puts buy and sell orders.

Above everything which one seems more secure to us?
There are centralized that are being hacked from the past but there also reports that I've read before about how slow a decentralized exchange is.

I guess it all depends on the number of users.

I prefer decentralized exchanges. If you take all safety measures, the chance of having your funds stolen is pretty low. While centralized ones regularly get hacked and funds get stolen.

for me, I prefer to use decentralized exchange because like most other opinions besides the limit withdrawal, no need to pass kyc, trading in decentralized exchange is more secure and transparent than centralized exchange. but I also use centralized exchange to trade some coins that are not available on decentralized exchange

It depends on the situation, both variants are good. But sometimes I feel like centralized exchanges have higher commissions fee. So yeah. moreover decentralized exchanges allow you to sell any token just by having smart contracts address

OP, I think this question is an already answered one because lately, most bitcoin or cryptocurrency enthusiastist are only interested in trading in a decentralized exchanges because it gives you the trader or investor the freedom to manage your cryptocurrencies without monitoring from any second other third parties. I guess most investors whom have no other choice than to use this centralized exchanges are those from countries that demands the use of it and they definitely have no choice.

As of now i like both centralized and decentralized exchange , only thing matter is the liquidity , support and ease of use .
in next years DEX will be the obvious choice of people because of increasing risk in security , bcoz we dont know they are really hacked or insider job . Binance already started working on DEX so they are not fools which have already working exchange and still want to move to DEX .

The blockchain and cryptocurrency space have been built on a philosophy of decentralization and the advantages that it brings. However, this same philosophy has not carried over to how the majority of users are conducting trades within the space. Decentralized exchanges continue to be overlooked for their centralized counterparts, that do currently offer significantly better trading functionalities. However, as the development of decentralized exchanges progresses, it may be likely that we see a shift in preference to the more decentralized model.

The problem with decentralized ones is that the volume is pretty low so for those people who has large amount of coins, they would wait for sometime for the coins to be listed in centralized exchanges because that's where the volume is. We would say that most cryptocurrency enthusiast are interested in trading in decentralized ones but why is it I can always see people who are asking when the coin would be listed in binance when it is a centralized one? It is because we know that volume would be there when it is listed in a centralized exchange.

Decentralized exchanges are necessary to buy tokens at low prices, which go there immediately after ICO. In this they are good.

Personally I believe that decentralized exchanges will gain more and more volume and users. Maybe in 2-3 years we will use mostly decentralized exchanges.

Most of the decentralized exchange are dumping ground for icos investors and traders.  I will like were trading in bitcoin is enabled with most of the coins and tokens available.
Centralized exchange provide you with a good platform for bitcoin and altcoins trading and binance is trying to introduce fiat and cryptocurrencies trading. If decentralized exchanges can bring this on the table I believe people will prefer using them than the centralized one.

Not always the good thing and not always the same scenario that would happen where you can buy cheap coins and later on it would rise its price. The fact here is that DEX is the main place where tokens can be sold out directly yet traders or token holders do make such decision on selling or buying on early phase where tokens doesnt hit up on better centralized exchangers.
So as an investor its your choice if you can risk to buy out tokens on very cheap prices and believe their potential.

The only advantage of a centralized exchange is the possibility of high volume and frequency in trades between fiat and cryptocurrencies, specially for scalping strategies, to trade between cryptocurrencies a decentralized one is always better and most likely the advancement of the blockchain technology and it's more widespread adoption in the future will overcome that and  any other disadvantage a DEX can have over a centralized exchange.
