Title: Does CPU Speed Matter Whatsoever While GPU Mining?
Post by: gigabytecoin on March 15, 2011, 09:58:03 AM
Say I'm working with a 5 year old computer.... 1.0 Ghz Single Core...

Will that affect my hash-rate at all if I am only using poclbm to generate coins?

Only if your operation system overloaded by other processes.
There also possible some loss if gpu drivers not optimized for old cpu.

There are not too many systems under 1.6ghz with pci-e though I am sure you could find one.

t won't half your hashrate or anything, but it probably will reduce it
