I'm not speaking from the perspective of whether they are accessing user funds or not. I'm referring to the fact that they promised in December or January IIRC that they'll be supporting SegWit soon but until now, we haven't seen anything instead, we're seeing updates for ETH, BCH and there built in exchange.

And now they are thinking about moving their domain  ;)


I am still trusting their web wallet for daily transaction but to feel fully secured its better to just use hardware wallets rather than any web wallets even though they promise nothing is stored on server. Now a days hardware wallets are supporting tens of coins in single device making it suitable for coin that you want to hold for long term.

Don't buy hardware wallets from unauthorized vendors as that can be tempered in midway.

Its not the only basis to say that you shouldn't trust them just because they are not giving a statement about fulfilling their promise of supporting SegWit soon.

I still trust blockchain.info/com they are moving their domain but if that's only the case of your concern, you can use wallets that are supporting SegWit like Greenaddress.it or hardware wallets.

Isn't that fact alone proves their incompetence? I'm pretty sure this will have an effect on their users.

If you really want an up-to-date experience, you can't rely on blockchain.info as they are reaaaalllly slow on developments. They are more likely to add another coin or any for-more-profits stuffs than to actually fix an essential problem.

Use core or electrum.

Yes I know also blockchain.info indeed support SegWit but do not know whether it has been applied or how the continuation, because I do not see it any deeper. But blockchain is a web wallet that I still trust and I use from the first time I know bitcoin until now.

I think there is not enough reason to raise alarm yet. Maybe they are more focused at the moment on moving to their new domain. They did notify users. Let see what becomes of the segwit issue after the migration.

There is no information about the segwit implementation via news website or etc. Then, you do not need to have the this as main wallet for you. To have as a trustable one this will be work well for everyone mate.
It will be good wallet in the web wallet list. You can get the wallet id and password to access your wallet.
Then you can get the access on with the private key too bro.

As long as I control my coins "12 words seeds & no one can access my password info" and transfer fees "network fees," I trust them.
All the problems of this wallet are due to its lack of technical support, but the ease of use makes it unique "Which may change in the future."
I think its name is the one that makes all this turnout. "Blockhain.info -----> from Blockhain technology"

Since it's still an online wallet even you had the seed phrase and password info there are still possibilities that your wallet can be compromised by hackers because it's online web wallet unlike wallet from a desktop that you can protect your own PC from any harmful malware and viruses and you can do an offline transaction.

For me, it is not safe to use blockchain.info and I feel that this site will nearly become offline and never online again because I heard that they will change their domain soon as their announcement said past days ago.

Still hacking is possible if you are newbie in accessing the blockchain.info wallet. I see the many people accessing the wallet with the incorrect URL sometime if they go with the fake site with the Google results. Then it would be a problematic one for you.
In that case, you should go with desktop wallet or hardware wallet for security reasons mate. If you use it correct means it will be secured always.

The fact that they promised to add support for segwit back in Nov in a tweet (search it up if you want), and it was never added makes me really wonder what's going on with them. They promised BCH support in the same tweet and that was done within 2 months of the tweet.

It's obviously got nothing to do with whether or not their web wallet is trustworthy or not as you mentioned, but everything to do with what they do to fulfill their promises as a business.

They're now devoting their energy into rebranding and new features without addressing Segwit support. It doesn't necessarily make their wallet any less trustworthy to use, and I actually like their wallet a lot, but it says a lot about them as a business. And without segwit support, a lot of users will switch to desktop wallets instead, so it's probably worse for them.

They are known to be buggy as hell and do keep in mind that they are an online wallet. I don't use blockchain.info, but can tell you that a lot of users don't love using it. I see complaints about it too frequent. Better to stay off from it, and now that the domain change is occurring, you might want to be careful. You might also get phished because of that. All in all, blockchain.info is not the best choice, when you have better options like Core, Electrum, or even hardware wallets.

They seem to be moving towards the idea of a hosted wallet more and more instead of having you control your own private keys with all of this built in exchange crap. I honestly don't even want to see that. If I want to exchange my money, I'll do so with an external exchange just as easily, like Shapeshift.

It's a good feature to have, but it's unnecessary.

All the while they have promised Segwit as you said last year, and still haven't rolled it out to this day. Plus the fact that there is often confusion as to how to operate the wallet due to bugs and stuff, I wouldn't use them. But it doesn't really make them less trustworthy, I just wouldn't use them.

Never trust any web wallets that is the first thing you need to know.I hope they will implement the segwit before the end of this year,I think the reason for this is the fee is very less even for legacy address so they might take their time to implement the segwits.
