Can you please give me some information about Merit how it works?

Still I have 0 Merit how can I increase and whats the reason behind Merit system please

Most of your post are in bounties (social media campaign) so expect no merit will come.
To gain merits, someone has to appreciate your post which is helpful and gained others informative ideas/knowledge.

Write a really good post about cryptocurrency and you will recaive a merit. Nobody take you here merit because they can receive ban.

If you provide quality to this forum, you will get merit. Try to post quality and useful content. People will probably give you merit if they like your post and think you deserve a merit.

Let me guess, the reason why you need to earn merit is because you want to rank up and then starting to earn more bounty, am i right?
When i looked your post history, i can say you will be never get merit point from people.

there are some conversations about this there are those who are supportive and some are very disappointed when this rule is applied because it can be very helpful when some people avoid fraud and scam.

Merit is provided by forum members who find your post and answers useful to the bitcointalk community. This is to promote the quality of the forum and to prevent new members from spamming. And along with quality bounty ICOs will also benefit from it since potential investors will be interested in the project that you are representing. There are also merits given by members that give certain tasks like reporting members who spams or members that do shady offers to members. You can find some in the meta section of the furom.

Anyone with a low status at the BTT wants to get a higher status, but this is almost impossible. I know 2 users of the community who create only quality content and for 6 months no one has received any merit.

The Merit rule in Bitcointalk forum was changed since 2018, if you want to get Merit in your account, you need make the good contribution in forum: post the constructive post is example. Please read the Rule about Merit carefully.

Most of the merited posts are on Meta but it doesn't mean that you have to post only there. As long as your posts are connected to the thread/topic, section and has helped many people, you will receive unexpected merit from them which means you can post in different sections that you are knowledgeable. If you are good with technical terms that's better.

A hardware wallet is indeed the most secure way to hold any cryptocurrency. Ledger Nano S is a good hardware and is compatible with many coins. If you can't afford a hardware device, then you can store ETH in myetherwallet. That is also safe to some extent. But make sure, you don't share your private keys to anyone and also be aware of phishing sites. Holding in exchanges is not a good decision, as more and more news of exchange hack are being released now.

You write good posts which help people and you give merit. The merit is almost impossible to obtain. System is down. Everyone sells a $ 10 measure. Beginners can not raise the rank on forum.

to get a reward or an award from others you must make a useful post and useful to increase knowledge for others. but I think it is very difficult to get a merit from someone else.sometimes our post is good and useful but still we still have not get a merit is sometimes we think our own post has been weighted but not necessarily also according to others judge like that.

Merit isn't impossible to earned. It's back to you and other people who always posting someting unuseful or repeating or spamming on megathreads. You will noticed some accounts got ranked up because they have made good posts

Sad to say thats the common answer of the people wants to join bounties because really lets be practical in this situation and since the merit system was created, plus the must common answer to your problem is to work hard play hard to post a topic that is unique and helpful.

Example read a topic about mining create one, summarize it and make sure its helpful for the newbie miners.
1. Make sure its not that long.
2. Easy to understand.

I would suggest while having that goal of yours, to earn merits please be patient and learn because as you learn you post good topics and the topics might get merits.

Plus don't post topics that are short and 1-4 lines that are not helpful.

Merit is a voluntary given to a member who helps in this forum and or posting real facts that contributes to the goodness of the community., and yes it is a voluntary given by some members. Dont focus on it anyway, if do not think about the money that you can get, then merit is not really an issue to everybody., just post and help others here, it matters anyway to help others.

About merit system is bad my rank didn't level up anymore there's no hope about that. Because we don't have choice but to move on expecting for our small payments for our bounties because of price decreasing. Instead of expecting an additional payments if we level up our rank but there's no more expectations by now.

If you get 10 merit you will be eligible for member rank. The only way is you should active in this forum and post must be useful for others need. surely many of them reward your post. This merit system is useful to identify the spam users so you should activily post in meta or serious discussion. You will get more merits in short period.

How much merit one person can give to another? Does it depends on the rank as well?
It prolly gonna take ages before i could collect these 10 merit lol, as you said its mostly used to identify spamers

not only you include me and everyone who diforum but a policy there must be cause and effect and make it all better if you do have a lot of merit you proved good in this forum.

I Think BitcoinTalk devs did quite a nice job bringing Merit System to the Community!
IT stopped Spammers from getting higher Ranks aand Spam more often!
Now ONLY the qualified Person with Quality Post/Content Gets Higher Ranks.
I myself know that i will never make it to Legendary  Rank  (or evem Member Rank )
And i'm OK with it!

Its definetely been a good update in terms of not letting spammers reach high ranks, but made it very hard for people with a low rank to get a promotion.
I dont even care about legendary, just get to the Member would be awesome.

I suggest forget about merit because if your post is useful though, not necessarily someone give merit to you.
and to the extent that your rank will continue to remain that way until it is not in the running of this merit system.

To get the benefits of very difficult especially for newcomers who are still less familiar with this forum, The old course is very difficult to get the merit of another member, One way to gain merit by creating a useful thread and qualified, with the existence of a thread that we create new knowledge or can be a guideline for other members

If you are mostly interested in bounty and active here I can advice you to start thread about best bounty compaing.

As you can see a lot users send to topic starter some merits. Because this is usefull information.
But I warn you don't just copy info from that thread. Try to do something by yourself.

how about newbies to jr. member?  are newbies required to earn some merit to attain jr. member rank?

i feel there's a need to change the merit system.  we can make merits=20 activities or any equivalent.  then add up the old activity + merits = new activity.  when we reach certain points, we get to level up.  this way, those who earn merits will level up faster (reward for posting very good and helpful posts), while those who doesn't receive merits will level up after a long while.  this will ensure those who doesn't receive merits also level up but at a much slower phase.

Make a post that is useful to everyone so it is worth to get your reward but only people who deserve it.

you need to write positive , contructive, and effective ideas posts to get merits. people  has to appreciate your post which is helpful and gained others informative ideas/knowledge.

You need 10 merit and have 60 post to get Member, 100 merit to get up to Full member and 250 merit to get up to Senior.

You can do some translate from another languages to yours and it should have high quality or you can collect some useful website. For example you can share ico pages or useful bounty pages

When bitcointalk introduced the Merit, I was left with just a little bit before raising the rank to the Full Member. And remained a Member. And Merit does not increase. Write interesting posts to upgrade to a higher rank

Merit must be earned, this is merit.
You can give it for a good article on this forum or for feedback.
You can also give it to someone.
As I understand it.

He needed 60 activity too along with 10 merit, not 60 posts. To become full member, needs 120 activity and 100 merit and senior, you need 240 activity and 250 merit points.

Earning merit is more harder than earning bitcoins here in this forum, because most of the member of this forum is really selfish on sharing of there smerit to other members even those posts that are really deserving to be given, it's hard to believe but it's really the truth.

One of the smerit functions is to get bitcoin easily in this forum, it means if you get a lot of merit then chances to get bitcoin in this forum definitely with ease. But if what you say is true, indirectly this forum has failed to apply smerit.

So merit systems works as a ladder to get your rank high. Every Rank requires a particular amount of points to achieve. Higher ranks means higher merit. You can acquire those merit by posting informative piece on the forum. Merit system limits those low quality posts and promotes good one.

you have to be patient about this system merit why so many people who complain about the merit system. I also, the requirement to get the merit is to make a quality post that was difficult also for me

False. Merit system doesn't has that function since it was introduced. Merit is being implemented to avoid spammer ranked up, so only quality posters who will be ranked up. It's not about to earn bitcoin or any token "more easily".
Where is the fail? As fas as i've seen, merit system is very good and it works.

Nowadays its really hard almost impossible to get merit, even if it is it will take you ages to get promoted to the next rank.

      The merit system was recently introduced to the bitcointalk forum. Its purpose is to increase the number of quality, constructive posts that aim to get others out of the mess. To get a merit or more, you need quality posts to be appreciated by others. Merits are some appreciations of the other forum members. Personally, I do not think that these merits are only offered on the basis of quality posts, but rather, it is offered between knowledge to help.

Merit system has been launched by the our own forum admin theymos to avoid the trustless people and streamline rank up and merited people. Actually it is called likes in your facebook.
If you want to rank up with in this forum. You need to get the expected merits as said in theymos thread.
Please do not get the merit for money. You will be in trouble for sure.

I still can not see the point that behind of the Merit System.

- Why only some users have Merits?
- Why not clear and exact definitions of it?
- Why no like "thanks" button kind for getting Merit?
- Forums are belong to the community then why community have no option to choose best topics with Merit?

All these questions make me think about on Meris System as unfair. Yeap it seems no fair in Merit logic; I see that idea is great but the work process is not though.

Maybe Forum Administration can review my and others critiques then update the process of Merit.

What i know for you to have a merit is you really need to provide a very helpfull and knowledgeable information for now i can say that its better if you are focusing to gather exact and valid things about the crypto so in that case for sure we can follow if how we can get a merit. For having a merit its not that easy its your hardwork and effort and long patience is the one that you needed

   You know at this moment it is very difficult to earn merit points. But don't loss your hope just do your part to have it. You need to post a very informative,useful,with quality,meaningful and very attractive post so that someone give attention and who knows that someone will give you a merit.

The Merit system was born to fight account-farmer behavior. In the past, just post or reply you can be up rank on bitcointalk, but now your content contributes to the quality and useful for the forum, everyone sends merit for you to be able to rank up, from Jr. Member up to Member required a minimum of 10 Merits.
