I total agree with this opinion!
We can only compare somethings that's quite similar.

I agree., both currencies have different use case anyway., so they are different. but talking about their popularity and mass acceptance., i would say that bitcoin still the number 1 which is followed by ethereum. In line with this., both of them are the best investment good for long term. Trading is the best way to make a profit., and in fact everybody does.

In regards to their use case., i agree on your statement., but both of this currencies are recommended., without ethereum there would be no and less tokens and coins exist nowadays.

I do not agree and I think ethereum is better. Obviously they are different but you can still compare them, they are cryptocurrencies after all. Bitcoin has a sentimental value now but what is the real value? It's digital gold, it has no real use besides buying other cryptocurrencies, which is what makes this whole market 1 big coin, everytime you want to buy another coin you have to go through bitcoin first or at least to one of the main cryptos. If Bitcoin didn't have so many pairs, its price would plummet fast. Ethereum on the other hand is useful, literally dozens of tokens depend on it.

bitcoin has nothing to do with gold and it is not even like it. bitcoin is a currency so if you want to call it anything you should call it something like "digital USD" or something like that.
as for Ethereum, it is not the best smart contract platform it is just the most hyped up one. there are a lot of better platforms with higher security and less centralization.

Rofl, what are you talking about, bitcoin is clearly not a currency anymore, who uses bitcoin? No one. Bitcoin is digital gold or a store of value, whatever you want to call it. It's far from being a currency and honestly will never be one.

If we are talking about real value then bitcoin should have a greater value since we can also say the same, Ethereum wouldn't reach its peak without the help of those crappy ICO's and useless tokens(most of them) that can be bought using their coin whereas bitcoin can be used to pay for real goods and services online(although it is not always used).
Just look at the marketplace section of this forum, you can find users there using bitcoin as a currency, not as a mere speculative tool.

I think that over time Ethereum will become a leader in the cryptocurrency market. because bitcoin has a limited number and will end in the future.

I can find a few users using bitcoin in a bitcoin forum? WoW. Look at the real world, how many people you know uses bitcoin on a daily basis, probably no one. In compassion eur or dollar is used thousands of times more than all the cryptocurrencies together.

Bitcoin has just became a rare speculative holding assets. It's higher price and transaction fees have hindered it's use in day to day transaction.
Ethereum is having the same fate though popular as a app and smart contract platform, people are paying higher in transaction fees of token.
So, ERC20 tokens too can't be used as a regular currency as well as Ethereum.

I agree with . Why many people compare ethereum with bitcoin I dont know. Obviously the purposes for this two are different from each other. Nakamoto invented bitcoin because he wanted to make an alternative medium of exchange which is also digital and virtual. So bitcoin is just a digital version of money or can be said digital gold also. Whether Ethereum is a platform for smart contracts.

Yeah opinion is good. I agree that too. But many people wont agree that idea , I think.

Bitcoin number one, while we (society, supporters, communities) think so, if we choose something different for ourselves, then number one will be different. Ethereum has such popularity only because its platform carries a lot of ICO projects. Now he has a lot of competition. I think the number 2 in the near future will deal with another currency, because the popularity of the Ethereum will pass to its competitors.

Indeed. Bitcoin was made for the first time, when it was made then it was sure its the first and obviously last of its kind. Then after whatever came was called as alternate to it and thats why the name alternate currencies.  I guess crypto currency other than bitcoin are just useful in their own sphere and some of them trying to bridge the real world. They are different but they are in their own space only. Bitcoin is like something that catches the attention of almost every other person in the world and everyone starts their crypto career with BTC as digital gateway for it.  ;)

One cannot compare bitcoin and ethereum since both have different usage and technologies and utilities.

Finally someone making this thread,i just don't get it with those who still comparing ethereum to the bitcoin, they are totally different ethereum was made as a compelement for the bitcoin itself. Let's compare ethereum to the EOS or another smart contract platform that's gonna be fair, instead of comparing these platforms why not support them.

Already many time asked the same question and every time Bitcoin is won the match so Bitcoin is ruling community no one is beat the Bitcoin in forever. I think if you compare in ETH vs NEO you will find the best result because both are well performed in this industry. My support is both Ethereum and Bitcoin so no need for comparison.

Back in 2008 Satoshi nakamoto's whitepaper presented a financial system which is completely decentralized and it has no authorization of banks or government. So basically he invented it for the purpose of the free movement of money. Ethereum is different platform which enables Smart contracts and DApps to run without any interruption from third party.   

I agree with you. I also think that both of these are different from each other in most of the operational issue. And they are moving on their own way. However, I also have found some similarities between them. Both of them are a form of cryptocurrency. They are used by traders as a form of investment and payment option. And when one falls another also face the imoact.

No doubt both the coins are promising but BTC is superior than ETH in terms of community support.BTC is market champion and entire crypto price is dependent upon BTC.ETH has technological superiority over BTC.In future years ETH will certainly overcome BTC.In the end both are coins are solid for investment perspective.

Bitcoin and EThereum are both cryptocurrency with different dimensions thought they are similar. While bitcoin blockchain is unique, so is Ethererum smart contract which has powered numerous alternative currencies is also unique on it own .

Both are good. You can invest both of them. But bitcoin is little bit better option for me. Because it is the best coin of the market and less risky also. On the other hand ethereum is better if we compare without bitcoin.

Ethereum is relatively ne if we compare it to bitcoin. The comparison does seem absurd as the majority of people will always pick bitcoin in a heartbeat against any new or old coin. Bitcoin is more reliable even if it is the oldest coin in the market. Till this date, it is at the top.

Actually the comparison is not needed as the bitcoin does not have comparison. Bitcoin is the first Crypto currency in this market and it is the market leader. The market of Crypto currency is known by bitcoin and Ethereum is comparatively new in this in comparison to bitcoin. Bitcoin is the best.

People compare these two completely different cryptocurrencies, only because I do not quite understand what their principles are. As soon as people begin to understand the principles of cryptography at least a little, such questions will disappear.

I agree with this. I think that both coins are good and full of potential. But I will tell BTC is better that ETH in some way. Both of the coins are good for long term investment. Though the market price is down nowadays but it will rise up soon within the end of this year.

I think there are several tokens that are likely to win, so ETH and BTC are definitely winners.
Because these two tokens are now recognized by most people.

I agree to some of your points. we cannot compare Bitcoin and ethereum together. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency that arrived in the market and still ranks first among all other cryptocurrencies.

Every coin has its own special features. So, it's better if investors choose according to need,
