Title: bitcoin transaction uncofirmed? Post by: byebyehi on July 02, 2018, 05:15:13 PM I'm using electrum wallet and I sent a transaction over 2 hours ago and it still says unconfirmed. The fee was within 10 blocks, how much longer will this take?

Fees were increasedt as bitcoin price goes up and unconfirmed transactions are increasing too. Title: Re: bitcoin transaction uncofirmed? Post by: byebyehi on July 02, 2018, 05:57:02 PM nevermind, transaction confirmed
Title: Re: bitcoin transaction uncofirmed? Post by: boyptc on July 02, 2018, 06:42:05 PM I remember about suggestions of transaction accelerator with antpool so I did that to your transaction.
I hope it will be confirmed soon and I don't know if it works because I haven't used it for a while because transactions lately are quick and cheaper. Next time pay the recommended fee. The fee was within ten blocks, how much longer will this take? Why you didn’t choose segwit's address "Bech32 [starting with bc1] & P2SH [starting with the number 3]"? You will enjoy fewer fees and faster confirmation. You do not need to worry; It will be confirmed soon. If you have any concern, you can use Replace-by-fee option."I do not think you need it." I'm a major newb. I'm using the older electrum version 2.8 so I dont think there is a replace by fee option, or I don't see one at least. I need to read up more on segwit, can people send to segiti from a legacy address? Title: Re: segwit transaction? Post by: hugeblack on July 02, 2018, 07:14:49 PM I need to read up more on segwit, can people send to segiti from a legacy address? you can use this site to calculate fees -----> https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,24h (https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,24h). "Better than https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/"I do not know but I think that option is available in that version " please check it." also, you must update your electrum version to the latest version. read about Critical Electrum vulnerability ----> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2702103.0 Edit 1 Confirmations about segwit read this For segwit transactions it depends on the transaction. A typical transaction of one input, two outputs is 226 bytes legacy, 166 vbytes P2SH-P2WPKH segwit (27% less), 141 vbytes pure bech32 P2WPKH segwit (38% less). If you have many inputs, the savings are larger (and less for many outputs). For 10 input, 1 output legacy is 1515 bytes, 953 vbytes P2SH-P2WPKH (37% less), and 722 vbytes P2WPKH (52% less). Multisignature transactions benefit even more. Multiinput 2 of 3 multisignature transactions in bech32 P2WPKH segwit are 75% smaller. |
