YaCy is a free search engine that anyone can use to build a search portal for their intranet or to help search the public internet. When contributing to the world-wide peer network, the scale of YaCy is limited only by the number of users in the world and can index billions of web pages. It is fully decentralized, all users of the search engine network are equal, the network does not store user search requests and it is not possible for anyone to censor the content of the shared index. We want to achieve freedom of information through a free, distributed web search which is powered by the world's users.

What could be more worthwhile than including a search function in the client to support this effort ?

Every bitcoin node becomes a free speech vehicle which would be as impervious as the bitcoin network to censorship.

Integrate free porn into the client. Because, ya know, porn doesn't find itself.

No porn is already distributed - this would make it uncensored.

Firmly against the idea.

I support free speech. But don't want a search engine in bitcoin.
I support Esperanto. But don't want bitcoin to be in Esperanto by default.
I support free DNS. But don't want namecoin attached to bitcoin.

Bitcoin is strictly money. We all have diverse ideas and points of view- that's what makes us exciting. But expanding bitcoin anywhere beyond it's narrow focus would serve to be a flashpoint and source of contention, and negatively affect the project.

i mine with only one 5750, and i am also running yacy . It does not seem to diminish my mining output at all and the only difference seems to be it uses cpu and memory . So to me i don't mind running yacy along with guiminer. So instead of building it into bitcoin If you think Yacy is a worthwhile project add the client to your rig . I dont use the machine i mine with other than for bitcoin anyway .
