As of right now, there are a lot of speculations regarding newly developed Crypto-exchanges spamming the Ethereum blockchain with transactions due to their voting process(es). It is possible that it’s indeed causing a hefty increase in the number of transactions, and it highlights the need for a scalable blockchain.
