I'm going to be swapping cards around in my mining rigs to lower temps for the coming summer and I'm probably going to have an odd 5970 to sell. I'm pretty sure its gonna be an XFX (I've got a few XFX and sapphire, I like to stay with 1 brand per rig). Works great, mining BTC as we speak. Right now used 5970s are going for $500 pretty reliably on ebay, and BTC is trading around $.80/1BTC so I'm looking for that range. Any takers? Sold Title: Re: 5970 for sale in BTC, best offers? If the difficulty increase becomes linear and BTC price doesn't decrease, then I think a card can generate its money. But it will take months. And you need a good GPU. Folks, I think this is still a good deal. Difficulty will adjust downward in a few days, to 65k or so. In those two weeks alone you can generate 150 BTC or so, and in another two weeks you can probably squeeze out another 100. This is at least 500% of the cost of the electricity to run it. If you only want the GPU for mining it's kind of a waste of effort---it will pay for itself, but only after a long time, and there are better ways to make money. On the other hand, if you want to play games or something, this card is its own rebate. Title: Re: 5970 for sale in BTC, best offers?
