In in the UK and am a gox user. Whats the best alternative way of buying bitcoins. Thanks in advance.

What amounts are you talking about?

For small amounts but high vig use localbitcoins.

For medium amounts try to find a regular trader that accepts bank transfers. I might be able to help.

For large amounts, get a currencyfair.com account, and a bitstamp account, then send GBP to currencyfair, exchange almost vig free to EUR, then deposit into bitstamp. KYC for both.
