Can you name any of them that have gone bankrupt? I'm a crypto player/trader but so far so good and I have never been bankrupt.

Do you have any reason on why you are saying this or you just basically want to say this to scare others?

not all cryptocurrency players go bankrupt, they just experience a decline in assets and most of them do not sell the asset before the price recovers. Just as crypto players and traders who have long been in the world of cryptocurrency they think to increase their investment, for the reason they believe that the price will be able to recover.
maybe you mentioned is a new player who experienced panic sell to see the current market conditions.

With no real evidence to back this statement up, this is totally untrue. 
Note players/traders are busy increasing their stakes, buying from weak hands and people that don't understand the market.

There are many small investors who do not have the right investment method and have lost a lot in the period from the beginning of the year to now. I think that in order to succeed in any market, it is necessary to have a proper investment strategy so that investors can be proactive in all the worst situations.

      You have no proof that many players in crypto currency got bankrupt. Of course we can't avoid losses in playing or investing in crypto because it is too risky  but i think most of the people here in crypto is already aware and they playing ang investing carefully.

How sure is this? Well, we don't really know about this so maybe those are gamblers and not a hodlers or a greedy one. But for sure, if you are good here you will not become like that, this market is nice in terms of profit making so learn how.

This post are just making other peoples afraid to join crypto, this was my first time to heard about it, even if they've got hack or scam it doesn't mean to be bankrupt, because I think every single bitcoin has known their own plan and strategy.

People who just entered last December and borrow money just to enter the cryptocurrencies market are in trouble because they cannot pay their debts anymore. It is alarming because some even commit suicide because of depression and they cannot feed their family anymore due to debts. This is the reason we should always the risk involve when it comes to investing especially as risky as this crypto market because we don't know what will happen in the future.


This post is not to make people afraid but instead let people be aware of the reality that there are some who got bankrupt because they invested heavily on bitcoin without risk management. It would instead make people be wary and take the necessary risk and know when to sell so that they can avoid being bankrupt.

Do you mean bankruptcy as fall in price or you mean losing out totally? I think you need to clarify this because in cryptocurrency business, no investor lose totally even when price goes bearish because the unit of quantity acquired still remains no matter how price has fallen even below ico price.

Although, the only way an investor can lose totally is, and unless when the coin is deleted or taken out of the exchanges where it is listed.

The only cryptoplayers who has gone bankrupt, as far as I know, are producers of mining equipment. And exchanges which have been hacked of course. Which other players have been bankruped?

Because most of those crypto investors doesn't know where to invest there money and many of those investors are mostly newbies that's why they get scam by shitcoins and ICO expecting for immediate gains only to find out that their money will go to waste in those unknown altcoins with no ceo, no good team of dev, no roadmap and not marketable.

I think only some of their friends are bankrupt. So he said the Cryptocurrency player went bankrupt. But I do not think all Cryptocurrency players go bust. Maybe they stopped following it as market prices went up and down.

Well for everyone who sold off at the all time highs, someone had to pay that money to get the cryptocurrency so there are likely a lot of people out there hurting... there are stories who pretty much lost everything putting too much money into cryptocurrency too. So there are people who probably are bankrupt too.

ICO at this time is not the same as 2015-2017. Stop crying if you've been sleeping with the past. ICO became famous and featured high leverage loeij in the short term. But it is only one component in this ecosystem. If you want to make a profit, you need to be patient several times over.

I don't heard any news about the bankruptcy on those investors. Maybe those investors has no knowledge in this volatile market and let their money trapped on those shitcoins. If you had enough knowledge in this technology you can still profitable even at this market situation.

Can you support this with hard evidence and statistics? While many may be showing a loss at the moment and a few may well be in financial difficulties as a result of buying crypto with borrowed fiat, the only evidence of financial difficulty is anecdotal.

The truth is bitcoin has no underlying rate of return, You know bonds have an interest coupon, Stocks have earnings and dividends, gold has nothing. There is nothing to support bitcoin except the hope that you will sell it to someone for more than you paid for it.

This is because there are many dumb money playing in the market. There are many newbies just throwing their money knowing that they will gain profit in a short amount of time and when there is a FUD in the internet, they will immediately sell all of their coins.

Lets think how the newbies who borrowed fiat money in December 2017 just to buy bitcoin at that time. They are in serious trouble right now because the bitcoin they bought has decreased by almost 70%. Maybe they are waiting for that time to happen again that Bitcoin will reach the $20k mark again by December or maybe earlier.

If you are cryptocurrency player or you are a trader, in short, there are so many ways to get money without getting bankruptcy. Maybe the people you know are just the people who losses their gript in using bitcoin so that's why they are now bankrupt. You should have the smart skills while trading without getting greedy on it. It will lead you to success.

I really believe that this is just a speculation trying to destruct the image of cryptocurrency market because most of the people invested in crypto are gaining and earning big amount of profit.

People who have sold at high would now be sitting rich with cash and also would have now bought at cheap rates before another shooter happens and btc crosses 10k and then 15k etc in this second half of the year.

Bankruptcy in financial investment is normal and cryptocurrency is also not so easy to get profitable and get rich quick as many people think. Without knowledge and investment spontaneously, without a clear plan, failure is inevitable.

I think your statement only relay or speculates on what is happening on the market because the value of the cryptos are going down. You already concluded that many of the cyptocurrency players were bankcrupt. Maybe they got some losses but not bankcrupt. But in the near future they gain again.

The fact that some traders went bankrupt in the crypto currency market, I do not see anything unusual. Taking a crypto currency is not just a profit. This is a risky business and the greatest risk is the daily trading on the stock exchange. People took a number of wrong decisions, which led to the loss of their money. It has always been, is and will be.

Many cryptocurrencies users have gone bankrupt because they did the small thing that we dont need to do when investing in bitcoin. The only time when you have gone bankrupt is when you invest money in it. Now, the tips on how you wont get bankrupt is that, dont invest all of your money because yeah let's say that it will double your money and sometimes it might be tripled. But there is also a chance that it will not return to you. So just invest your extra money. Not all of your money.

I just think every investor who sells bitcoin in December 2017 has become rich now. But for those who have withheld bitcoin from December until now are those who will feel the enormous loss, and feel the greatest regret too. Aside that, the rate of return for anyone since the beginning of 2017 has been positive year on year basis. So, there is no need to continue dignifying this with responses.

I’d like to second this. Even if a crypto player makes a horrible trade or has sold their coins at a loss, they shouldn’t go bankrupt unless they have placed all their life savings on the line - which is strongly not advisable. Perhaps a better phrasing for the heading/title should be “many cryptocurrency players have lost heir money” because the term bankrupt is misleading. It also gives a bad connotation.

Bankruptcy can still be prevented if you can control your emotions well. Bankruptcy happens because the panic happens at the time of crash quickly and you can not control emotions well. If it can be controlled properly, then I'm sure you will avoid bankruptcy.

But if you're just in this for the experiment that it is, if you're using Bitcoin because you believe in it, then you've really got not much to lose - you'll always have your Bitcoin to spend, it's always going to be around for using, and there's always someone willing to accept it.

I would say that those who jumped on the bandwagon back in the winter when it was over 15k may have gotten hurt, but not bankrupt. That's what happens when you run into a burning building. The trend was already bending to near maximum peaks but sometimes people make decisions based on emotions while investing and get into a trade before carefully and rationally analyzing it. Logically this year was the best period to get profit, nothing to talk abojt bankrupt. Bitcoin reached 20K USD in winter, I highly believe some traders spent most of their bitcoins this time. Anyonr had to be crazy to buy bitcoins on 20K for holding and hope of future rise or big profit at that time. Then as we see price felt and felt, so currently is a goos time to buy some bitcoins and as I talked previously, this year was great for profit.

We all know that there are too many people investing in this market, definitely we can see many people get success, it's pretty normal. Alongaside many people get failed, face with bankrupt and be in deep debt. Often, as my observation, almost many people went bankrupt mostly because of lacking knowledge and don’t have preparation before joining the market. Besides some people are greedy, they don’t have a deep analyst but use all money for it, then afterwards they failed.

The crypto insolvency? They only really go bankrupt when they participate in MLM or ponzi models. This environment is dangerous. You can lose money at any time, I acknowledge that. But bankruptcy is only possible when involved in coinlending or ponzi.

May be its because of previous huge drop of bitcoin where most of the investors are focusing their investment capital in bitcoin alone because they are hoping for a bitcoin to reached $50000 but sad to say that it accidentally drops to $7000 from a previous price high of almost $20000.

The people going bankrupt in this game is the people who are investing money from debt/loans/credit cards into Crypto currencies. You cannot fund Crypto currency investments with debt, because it is a long-term investment and you have to repay that debt monthly. So if you not making a profit every month, you then have to pay that debt out of your own pocket.  ::)

These guys cannot hold onto their investment for a long time and they start losing money, so they sell prematurely and mostly at a lower price than what they bought it at. That is where people are making their mistakes.  :(

Many of the people said that even those people who didn't bankrupt say that it is their strategy to survive some of them saying that because they have big money. Some of it are truth but they always comeback in the using of cryptocurrency. They are not quitting they are just resting :)

You mustn't panic and you must control your emotions. There are cases when people went bankrupt because they are not careful., they don't know how the market works or they are investing money and houses that aren't theirs. You can't invest money you need.

That's one of our very own mistake for expecting such huge on those days. But I don't think majority and calling "players" have gone bankrupt. There might be some people who have bankrupt for buying FOMO and bought during when the price of bitcoin hits $20,000 and bought with their life savings. But not all did the same mistake.

I never went bankrupt when investing in cryptocurrency. I think your opinion is completely wrong. In fact, most people invest in cryptocurrency for the purpose of making money. But in this market, there will be bankrupt people, and there will be people become wealthy

What you are describing sounds like a robust and secure blockchain that has a great potential for growth. The only risk with ICO's is being able to place trust in the people who are organizing it. Anything done in crypto is inevitably risky, no matter what you do. It is possible to go bankrupt if you invest in some coins which are worthless or purchased based on pump and dump group or somebody says to buy before you making your own investigations which can be more fruitful.

It would be nice to see some statistics or reports but if the market of cryptocurrencies is similar to forex then most traders are losers, in fact that is inevitable, if someone wins then that means that someone lost money and when you add the transaction fees, the exchange fees and the taxes that you should be paying or that you will pay then this raises the percentage of people that needs to lose their money.

A few people who are involved in crypto lose their property because they have no specific plans when they start investing , they are too impatient to get rich without knowledge, even some lose money for the guys Scam in this market. I don't actually know if this post of yours is base on any research findings or just your personal opinion, but whatever the case maybe, i highly doubt that and i also disagree with you, the big crypto players are the one's in money while the investors are the one's at the receiving end when everything goes south.
Or don't you know that its the crypto whales that are in control of the market? You should do more digging ;D

Most of the crypto players went all in on alts and many on BTC thinking that the bull run will continue long time. But then comes a big fucking bang in the asses of all of us (yeah, even I became the victim of the bloody alt season losing more than a BTC and still thinking (hoping) that the markets will recover hardly. Thank God I have sources to make get my BTC back as well as a part time job to help me run my home somehow smooth. A lesson learnt, lately but learnt. It will be better not to touch alts till Bitcoin ends its bull run which has just begun. Hodl your BTC very tight and don't sell till the end of this year, you'll be selling it for fortunes if you've what it takes - a bit of patience.

Normal thing to happen into this industry which if there are gainers there would be always a loser and this isn't different into any other similar industry like on other traditional investments like stocks or even on forex. This kind of system would exist no matter what even on physical businesses where if theres a competition then theres no doubt that one would really experienced bankrupt or losing profit.
If this is your mindset as an investor to easily give up then getting those loses back wont be possible.

I wouldn't say that went completely bankrupt but may have put their money somewhere else like perhaps in stock trading or any other assets that can give them profits. Those who went in and left are those who bought that hype and didn't study the market very well that's why they lost so much money. I referring to those newbie traders who enter the price during bitcoin's bull run last year. But since then, we experience bearish market so clearly then lost already. But I speculate that they are just waiting outside and willing to enter again once the price looks good again.

Cryptocurrency in particular and financial investments are generally not available to non-knowledgeable investors. You will not be able to succeed if you only invest on the basis of valuation and there is no clear research and analysis to find potential coins.

You will find so many people around you who are busy in investing of their money into different crypto currencies and that there will be such investors who would have failed to make any kind of earning because of that but you can’t blame any of the crypto currency for that as it is the failure of those investors because of lack of knowledge and no such proper planning which lead them to loss.

We all make mistakes once in a while, a long time ago I learned the same lesson in another market, this is why I can be very calmed because I know what it takes to become successful in the markets and while skill and a lot of money helps, being patient is the number one difference between those that make a lot of money out of the market and those that do not.

Just like someone once said in this forum– when someone is winning, someone else is losing. So it’s a normal thing that there will always be some people that will end up as losers. But as for going bankrupt, it’s only a fool that will go bankrupt because of Bitcoin, how can you invest all the money in your bank account into Bitcoin, that’s the highest form of madness.

Losing and or even bankcrupt is the doesn't mean you stop to investing to cryptocurrency. You should invest now and get your money back because today is good invest because the price dump and yoy can get more coins right now and you earn profit.

They have gone bankrupt because they don't know professionally how to handle their own fund, more traders do such things like buying at low value  and when the price tickles for an increase they do like hodling and when the price roll back less than to the value they have bought then they sell it because they are afraid that it might decrease again and flucutuates till it gets dump, but it's not how it goes,  if a crypto is for long term then trading should be funded half of the amount you have and the half is for long term hodling.

The only that goes bankrupt are those who sold all their coins and then spend it all without thinking of the next days.  I have been there once which is why I'm saving every time. If you sold not buying back your tokens in cheaper price, you did it wrong again. Never heard if any trader have gone bankrupt. You should  present some data if you you are are saying. Rest if its true, there must be only reason lack of appropriate knowledge or lack of cryptos understanding. These are the only reasons if someone faces loss in cryptos.

Getting bankrupt is really a hard thing one can experience especially in crypto investment. Supposedly, one can recover back from being bankrupt if he tries again but he needs to manage his crypto assets well.

I do not think that greed is the main cause of those who get bankrupt, IMO it is more about failure of money management and about strategy.  Trading without good money management will always result in bad losing. Mistake in trading is a common thing, the most important thing is that trader should know how to deal with the mistake.

How did you know? I believe most of them are just small players who happened to be greedy or always got panic. Always thinking in a negative way and has lack of knowledge. Still, I believe the number of people who became successful in crypto will outnumber those who got bankrupt.

Due to fluctuation at the beginning of the year makes many people lose their value in the market and this makes many people loose their hopes in the market whether the prices will recover or not. That's true most of us (especially me) always think that the market will return at 18k or 20k last year so as I will get back the losses that have been experienced. Many cryptocurrency players/investors may have gone bankrupt maybe because they fail to manage their cryptocurrency assets properly. A very poor decision making can also be the culprit that costs them their portfolio which is supposed set in a long term plan. Any wrong decision at any moment can really ruin everything.

Most new projects are terrible anyway that is why they disappear, if the majority of the projects in the market were like bitcoin or even something close to it then I can assure you that most of those projects will survive but since that is not the case and most projects are created by scammers trying to get money out of investors that should know better than to invest in a coin with no future then we have the current failure rate of projects in the market which is very high.

Only individual newbie investors may had gone bankrupt. Institutional investors have strategies and they won't take loss after a certain fall in market.

Well, I do agree with you to some extent that some investors probably those who rushed in to invest when bitcoin was either at or close to its all time highest have lost a lot of the current market is being considered. That not withstanding, the crypto currency giants or players might not actually loose anything, these are people who got into the business early and might still be enjoying their profits. I mean those who invested 3 or more years ago have only seen their profits reduced and that can not be referred to as a total loss.

Not all of them are going bankrupt, some of them are just exit scam. They come in and pretend to be legit and try to get a lot of investors on their side and once they have made enough money they will quickly exit the market, taking investors money with them. Someone that is an institutional investor is not an investor that has more knowledge, it is just an investor with more money and many of them have no formal education when it comes to the economy so they are as susceptible as anyone else to take bad decisions, and many of them are taking huge losses because they were not smart enough to know when to leave this market.

It is common sense, in other markets the percentage of traders that make profits is very low, probably below 20%, and the percentage that make great profits enough to make a living out of it is even lower, and when we take into account that the market of cryptocurrencies is many times more volatile than all of those markets then it is a very safe assumption to make that the percentage of traders making profits is even lower in this market.

The major percentage of them must be the excited newbies the felt so high because of the FOMO in December. I don't really consider them as cryptocurrency players because they just follow what everyone does when it happened and they don't really have a concrete idea on how they will manage it. Might be the consequences but there's nothing to blame in this game. It's how we play here, and sometimes you win or lose. But it doesn't mean that you will totally get out of this market though, you can still recover but this time you have the experienced to help you out and I'm sure that you learn from your past mistakes. the thread creation is a bit long . i see its 2018 but now we are already on the year 2019 which the prices of cryptos has got alot of decline therfor the crypto players have lost again and maybe some of them had already gone bankrup  but its not official if they didnt sold their assets . we know that the price can still recover so its their choice if they will cut loss or stay in the game and wait a little more longer  .

It is true that if someone is losing money then someone else is earning money but the number of those that are earning money is way lower than the number of people going bankrupt, so you need to be very careful when you are trading, you are competing against experts that have taken away the money of hundreds of people and they are trying to do the same with you and if you are not careful you are going to become a victim as well.

So it is better to only become a trader once you know and can implement the same strategies as those that are making profits out of this market, if you do not then like many that tried to trade without any skill in the subject you will lose everything.

People who had being buying on dips would end up making money irrespective if markets have fallen in long run. But for those who had being buying on high might not make much money or may end up in a loss if they had to sell immediate due to some urgent requirement. If people do hold the good coins then they will make money in the long run and when bull run happens it will rise very quickly and might even cross 10k in couple of days of rise. I believe that there is a truth in that statement because nem has just announced recently that they only have 1 month before they go bankrupt. For me, it's unbelievable for a good project to say that they have had a mismanagement of fund. But I think those who made many profits before will survive.

Not all of them, only those of them that are careless are going bankrupt (that’s if you’re referring to the exchanges).
I have seen a lot of exchanges that are getting hacked and losing millions of dollars to hackers. Sometimes I think they should be blamed for being careless and losing such amount of money.

There are good exchanges that has never been hacked for once before, so these ones that are falling victims to hackers should really level up their security.

Those people were the one's who bought crypto or bitcoin when the price was at its peak that's why its important to take note when the price is getting overbought you should refrain yourself from investing on it. You should wait for the right moment like for example now where bitcoin price is at its lowest especially when it already bottomed out.

There are lots of crypto players who go bankrupt because of many things, one of which is the drastic decline in the price of bitcoin and causes many traders to cut loss and cause loss of the value of their assets.

Obviously, the decline in price may have affected lots of crypto players negatively and it might made some of them bankrupt. Maybe the reason is that they keep on thinking of investing, but when there is a negative news, they are the first one to push the sell button.

What do you mean by "cryptocurrency players" or do you mean by investors? Here lies the problem with most investors at the moment: they seem to jump the hype train caused by media and they got influence into investing their money when the prices were skyrocketing.
Last December 2018, the prices reached an all-time high of $20,000 and some speculated that it might even break records reaching $1 million per coin. These newbie investors invested their money WITHOUT even doing their research and study in the market, thus losing most of their investments when the price suddenly drop.


Most investors who lost a significant portion of their investments were the ones who invested when the prices are still at high. They did not do enough study and research on the market and ONLY followed the hype train caused by media and other influencers. Unfortunately, they are also the ones who spread news about 'bitcoin's death' or 'bitcoin is dying' kind of news.

It will be on that horrible events if we can't adopt the market trend and never find other strategies to work it out. We can escaped this possibilities if we take actions on this immediately but we just watch let it happen to our investment, then probably will turn out into losing our funds.

Many traders are at a severe loss if they have invested in first quarter of 2018. Many might have sell in loss by now and have said good bye to crypto market. Other might still be holding ,still waiting for the market to recover their losses. I think its not about choosing the good coin is responsible for their bankruptcy but entered the market at the wrong time, when the price was at its peak, I recalled during the bull runs most of the coins are very profitable a lot of ICOs investors made a lot of profits because there was a massive bull runs and a lot of investors came on board thus paved way for more ICOs into the system.

I agree with this, unless Bitcoin value have gone zero it will cause many to go bankrupt but Price is still going well it's just that it has big dip in the last months. Well it possible because the market have lost so much value, almost 90% from its peak. The good news though is that most of the coins are really taking off and recovery is on its way. So if you went bankrupt here, I guess it's time to re-enter and recoup everything as the market conditions is getting better day by day.

the definition of bankruptcy is different from getting a loss. bankruptcy is a bad situation. Maybe only a few people go bankrupt but this is not something that is scary, even all businesses have the same risk.

People had made mistake when they bought at high levels of 2017 and thus due to which many people had to sell in losses as market did not recovered in 2018 and lost a huge amount of money and some losing their entire saving as well .

Many people who have become millionaire would be in 2017 those who had hold till Dec and out of that many would have sold their positions and made money or partially would have sold it and accumulated some wealth for them self. Rest of them were notional millionaire on just papers.

I missed that year 2017, I am also holder at that time and I remember I cashed out in December 2017 with a huge amount and invested back again the first quarter in 2018. Unfortunately, until now I still have lost from my holding and waiting again to reach the price last what happened in 2017. I think it is not a bankrupt at all if you still hold your crypto asset right now. The quantity is the same but the value was very volatile to move.

As for new exchanges, it’s already a normal thing they will always go bankrupt cause majority of them are not well planned. I’m not the type of person that even makes use of new exchanges, I choose the ones with good reputation and have been into the business for a long time.

Old exchanges have already established good market relation and many investors giving their trust into them. Taking a look into new exchanges, we cant say that they can be trusted cause many of them  were just useless or just scamming. In fact, many investors suffer losing of their account keys just because of them.  This is some reason why they could be easily to bankrupt and gone in crypto space.

I think the bankrupt case belongs not to loosing keys, but to the fact that trading places filled with people who almost do not know about crypto and invested in it on top prices with the expectation that bitcoin will continue its move after 20k$.

Many cryptocurrency traders, investors are going to bankrupt because of being dumped market. They invested assets at higher rate and facing a lot of losses.

Many of those short term investors might have already quit the market. The big dump of bitcoin from 19000 to 3000$ for over a year has vanished out those short term investors and now only the holders are left. You were too fast to get back in, you should have patience and waited to see what was going to happen next before you invest. I strongly believe that no cryptocurrency player went bankrupt, if they quit, that’s just because they decided to quit. Prices are down because of the main trend on the markets and i can't blame anyone for such conditions in the market. ICOs bankrupt for a lack of the money and teams have no motivation to re-start the new projects.

That isn't the reason for the bankruptcy experienced by the users. From my understanding this is all because of being careless. Whenever you feel the market isn't good, one need to be prepared for the worst case. Users who on over confidence stayed without any plans were the one that have undergone bankruptcy. Even now it isn't late, wise planning could get them back the loss.

You can't stop people from going bankrupt. People go bankrupt on legacy markets. Crypto is no different. There is plenty of careless investors and - WORSE - utter fools out there in the world. The main factor to intend to investing is know how the place investment character, I guess for them who got a lots lost are investor who come in end of 2017, when hype came and some negative information attack cryptocurrency but he didn't know what should be do. The timing of when to buy, when to sell and at which price it all happens is the real key to being a success or a failure.

The same happened with the run up to $1000.  People who went in at $1000 were crying in 2015, but even at a general low from 2017 they are sitting pretty.  Not always best feeling top buying but as long as you dont go fiat at the bottom or blow it on scam coins people should generally be fine just might take some time.  Patience is key

I mean a lot of new coins came, became popular also some fell to make their existence.
A lot of things also happened with  the traders and investors. But to say them bankrupt, i completely disagree.
As to make loss or win, its completely depends on luck.
So who knows there may be jackpot in the door.
So nothing can be said.

Its not about new coins that come and go that took the investors money but its about the old coins that got dumped . i dont know the exact reason on why they got dumped for the whole year  . it maybe cause by a manipulation or any other thing  . that dump last year was not so normal but i think that some people still use that oppurtunity to buy more coins  .


Yes not all are going to be bankrupt  . most of those who loose are only weak handeed users  . they cannot wait for the recovery of the market and they think that its the end of the crypto so they choose to sell at a major loose  . i feel sorry for them  .

I believe that you are just trying to increase the number of your post count since you failed to provide evidence of people whom you said have gone bankrupt. Am one of the traders and I strongly believe that 2019 has really made me and any other rational investors to invest more at a cheaper rate. So, we believe it is a good year.

I know many people personally that have blown multiple accounts with trading bitcoin, and they were either bull or bear or even both.

Most people I know bought BTC above $10K, and they ended up selling at a huge loss or ended up buying more at $6K and ended up with an ever larger loss when it broke the $6K and head towards the $3K.

And some of them even turned into huge bears and ended up shorting at like $3.5K on huge margin because they were expecting $1K bitcoin and just wanted to break even on their investment. And in the end they got burnt both ways.

Most likely if we ever get another FOMO rally, the same will happen. People will overleverage, buy and get burnt.

When all anyone has to do is buy a few bitcoins, hold and wait a few years. Sad.
