Title: Raspberry Pi Mining Rig
Post by: Admiral_Snackbar69 on February 15, 2014, 03:11:25 AM
Hey guys, creating a USB Erupter rig using a raspberry pi. Not expecting a lot of reward, but hopefully pays itself off. Mostly doing this for fun, and to acquaint myself with a basic mining rig. Not looking forward to spending much on anything but erupters, so trying to limit computer cost as much as possible. Heres my rig list ATM:
Raspberry Pi Model B
Bitmain Ant Miner 1.6 Gh/s Erupter (can OC to 2.2)
4GB SD Card
D-Link USB 2.0 7-Port Powered Hub
Arctic Breeze Fan
Raspberry Pi Case (3d Print)
USA Raspberry Pi Micro USB
Any criticism would be welcomed. Thanks!

I have been using minepeon on my RPi.  I started with some ASICMiner erupters but I sold them, now I have some of my BFL Jalapenos running on it.

I know there is a post here at bitcointalk about minepeon somewhere, but here is the link to the minepeon main page (http://minepeon.com/index.php/Main_Page). There you can find all the information and links you need to get your hardware up an running.

I'm not concerned about software, that isn't too hard. What's bothering me is hardware. I dont really know what ASIC to run. I hear BFL is just terrible.

You can try looking at these ASICs:Bit Fury (2.2-2.6 GH/s),Ant Miner U1(1.6-2.2GH/s),Bi Fury(around 5GH/s),etc as they'll work with MinePeon without trouble.Hope this helps you with your search :)

Edit:Added hash rates of each respective ASIC I suggested.
