Since no advertising is allowed here at all, it would make sense to also ban avatars/ hide them many avatars contain pictures of altcoins and related links below them, perhaps this should be hidden too?
You're totally misguided here. Advertising is allowed (only in signatures and avatars/personal texts, and in some threads (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=749961.msg8466370#msg8466370)*). However, you're not allowed to advertise in your posts.

Nope. If the avatar and signature for ICO disabled, it can be a doom day for the bounty hunters especially the signature campaigner and they will spam Meta board whenever they can, like their spamming the Bounties board with #Proof-of-Authentication or #Proof-of-Joined in Airdrop thread (which it should be prohibited) thing, also weekly thing.

Who told you that arvertising isn't allowed here. You're wrong. But maybe you are talking about Serious discussion and Ivory Tower sections? If yes, I would agree with you. Signatures aren't displayed there, I think same should be with avatars.
P.S. You're asking for donations because you are pur. Really?

You are likely falling into over-worried about Jet Cash, who is prestigious, contributive member of the forum.
However, he/ she is just one of the forum member and - of course - you should not pay too much attention on what this guy will react with your threads.  ;D

In a nutshell, I agree with your point on the OP.

You're clearly missing the sarcasm in his post.

Double decrusting the boards sounds like a good idea. :)

It's considered lucky when a black cat crosses your post, do you really want to deprive posters of their luck?

this post was originally made in serious discussion.. for some reason looks like someone has moved it, or maybe i just posted it in the wrong section somehow (im sure this was in serious discussion)

Threads have legs in Bitcoin Talk. They also have the ability to procreate, and my current project is a thread condom to try to reduce this.

LOL.  We need a double decruster for certain sections of the forum.

I don't know where OP is coming from here with his question.  Most noobs are drawn to bitcointalk solely because avatars and signatures can be used to advertise, which has already been pointed out.  On a related note, I've always hated both of those things on forums, because they take up so much space, and it makes for a lot of unnecessary scrolling.  Sig campaigns are a very novel idea, and I support their existence--it's who and what they've attracted that's the problem.  If only every sig campaigner could write coherently, it'd be an ideal situation for everybody.

Edit:
Double decrusting the boards sounds like a good idea. :)
Somebody always beats me to the witty observations.  That's what I get for not reading the whole thread before posting.

It's the 'pur' that attracted me - you know that cats in hats love to pur. :)

Who told you that advertising is not allowed here ? You just have to higher rank for that, I would not like it to be banned in future as well.

i dont believe that it makes sence to ban avatars in that sections of forum, because signatures are not dispalyed thus users who go there are not writing post just to do their weekly bounty limit. This means that more quality content should be generated there and it does not matter if avatar is there or not.

do you even read bro
As i said, this was meant to be in serious discussion, it was moved (also it seems obvious now you are here just for the campaigns)

How was he meant to know? The op post made little to no sense until you edited it five minutes after he commented. I wouldn't be against avatars being removed from display in Serious Discussion/Ivory Tower, but it's probably overkill to be honest. People generally aren't paid per post for their avatars like they are their signatures so it would be largely futile. Only Full Members and up can have them as well. Might be a different issue if any old newbie could have them.
