It's been always said, that BTC runs the fate for other coins. The BTC dependance, was positive or negative, depending on the value.  But this argument is being proved wrong every once in a while, and this is the time to prove it wrong. Or..... is it that ETH is devaluating so much???

If BTC is said to push all coins why is BTC increasing value and ETH is going down and down??? Real numbers talk. People are selling ETH and buying BTC. ETH will turn PoS in just a few weeks and people know it will destroy its value. There is already a bullrun in this market for BTC. ETH cannot keep up.

Its very laughable to see people talking about the "future" of ETH. Just ignorants talking. Numbers talk, and talk clearly.
       

Wow, ETH really falling but its here to stay due to ICOs using it and POS is it really coming to ETH?

There is no guarantee that altcoin will always valuable, but ETH is different. People looking for opportunities to buy bitcoin and ETH at low price. A few months ago people shocked by the increasing price of ETH, people who hold ETH now will have big opportunity to gain profit from this altcoin. Although it is like a speculation but atleast there is hope because ETH has strong team behind it.

Could it also be because more and more start-ups from 2017 are switching to their own blockchain (mainnet) and there are selling off their raised eth to fund everything to get this done?

After the BitcoinTrash fork ETH lagged significantly behind Bitcoin for most of the bullrun, but ended up with a higher percentage increase by the end of it. Also remember the scam that is EOS has been dumping ETH pretty constantly over the past few days/weeks.

Things will pick up. Panic selling now would not be a smart move.

There is no guarantee that in a month there will not be the opposite. In the meantime, most likely you need to sell the etherium. I considered him one of the reliable coins.

the reason behind the fall of ETH for me is very clear: PoS.

to begin with, ETH is valuable because it's in a market. you can trade, sell, buy or mine the coin. That gives ETH the opportunity to speculate the value, and to consider the value of the coin based on the "hype" people have towards this coin.
With PoS, a big part of the value of ETH will GO, because the market will not be able to manipulate the price since the coin will be directly attached to the chain, and the operations like selling, buying, trading will be reduce. And mining directly dead.

So, what will be the value of ETH then? JUST THE VALUE OF THE PRESENT, PAST AND FUTURE SMART CONTRACTS SIGNED WITH THE CHAIN. and also consider this matter. The Structure of the chain and the algorithm cannot be changed. They changed it in the past, and that had to lead to ETC because they could not make those changes directly into to ETH network and for that, they had to create another coin and another blockchain.

if i'm not mistaken, Today the Bitcoin network is restricted to a sustained rate of 7 tps due to the bitcoin protocol restricting block sizes to 1MB. Visa has a daily peak of 4.000 and can do 56.000 if needed. So escalability whise, BTC is shit. So why that value?? Market, manipulation and economical interest.

ETH is not performing well. In fact, it's doing bad, really bad. I don't expect anything good from ETH.

Ethereum has earned its name for years, placing second best cryptocurrency after bitcoin. Its safe to invest in ethereum no matter what hapen bullish or bearish. I really dont care if its falling it will surely bounce back.

I'm very confident that ETH is here to stay, and will always be a major player. It has happened before that ETH price falls when people decide to buy more BTC, and as others have said,projects that had ICOs last year on ETH are maturing and moving to their own chains. There is no reason to doubt the long-term value of ETH.

it is the ETH bubble that has been bursting, the only difference between ETH and your usual pump and dump shitcoin is that a lot of newbies have invested in ETH who are not bag holding it tight so the dump of ETH takes a lot longer than dump of usual shitcoins.

and it is dropping hard. a week ago it was 0.08BTC and now it is 0.06BTC which is a huge drop.


i disagree with both of these statements.
people don't sell their ETH to buy bitcoin, they sell their ETH for bitcoin meaning they exchange it in ETH/BTC market. that  doesn't change bitcoin price and they are doing it because they know ETH is dumping.

and people don't care about these things such as PoS thing, if anything it is a hype coming. the price is dropping because it was pumped. it is as simple as that!!! when a coin is pumped it will be dumped you can't have a pump but not have the dump.

I do agree with your stastics for last couple of months but definitely one of the best used used and most promising blockchain technology would be ethereum . People might be falling because of cardano , EOS , TRX , IOST future expectation but once the bull run starts ethereum will be the first coin to be picked up . Its having real use case as well as its been using every day in crypto world.

Actually ETH is falling for last 7-10 days and your numbers didn't blow my mind coz I was waiting for it. I was told several month ago that ETH will fall and some other altcoin with own network can replace ETH as well in future, probably it can be EOS.

I am sure this is not the first time it happened that while the value Bitcoin is climbing slowly the value of the number two cryptocurrency is actually falling. I am seeing that maybe Eth is now having a decoupling moment with Bitcoin and can be charting its own destiny away from the number 1 which is of course Bitcoin. It is not yet the time to talk as if Ethereum is failing or that it can soon be relegated as non-important cryptocurrency because who knows in the next few weeks it can be its time to shine...as we know that cryptocurrency market can be volatile and unpredictable what can be the coin of the moment may soon be pushed to the background and another one will be basking in glory. Let's just give Eth the space it needs...

Though the price of ethereum is falling because and I guess this is due to the fact that more people are selling their altcoin and investing in bitcoin and if there can be high demand for the coin as it is for bitcoin presently, then ethereum will also rise but nevertheless, ethereum is a very potential and valuable coin and I am sure it will also rise soon.

I think the decline of ETH may be related to ICO，Due to the lack of funds in the whole market at present, the successful fundraising of ICO is becoming less and less, so the demand of ETH is decreased and the price of ETH is decreased.

Not only Ethereum, but a big part of the alt coins have the same patern. I think that people decide to sell their alt coins and change it for FIAT or Bitcoin. The reason is that bitcoin have another patern and we can say that it is positive.

Ethereum is definitely interesting, no one can argue that but the problem is that all ERC20 have no real use case and no purpose. It's just a matter of time until people realize that and when they do, ETH could go down much further since the tokens is what keeping ETH alive in the first place.

Numbers, especially taken from spots are always tricky. If we shall compare with the beginning of December 2017 we shall see that ETH has growth. There was a big hype in winter/spring and Eth price has risen in fiat in unnecessary fashion. 

But people are talking about future, not moments like we have now, bitcoin was always going up? It hasn't got 60 days when it was in a big down? For me numbers could change in coming days just immediately.

This is as per your analysis. You can believe it but I'm not too much into it. Whenever BTC rises, all other altcoins including ETH takes a beating and when BTC stabilizes for 2-3 days with 2-3% price volatility, then only altcoins starts gaining. In fact if you see since yesterday ETH is 5% up and other altcoins too in green. As on 10th august many people looking for ETF news, that's why converting there altcoins into BTC to gain from it's rise. Still 2 weeks to go for it, I think by that time we'll be at 9k for sure. If ETF got approved, BTC will touch 11k within that week itself and altcoins will bleed a lot, and if not then BTC will be back to 7.2-7.5k and then also altcoins will take all the hits.
Next 15-20 days are going to be tough for altcoins for sure. If BTC stabilized at 8.2k price for 2 days, we can see 20-25% increment in altcoins prices.

I observe the market every day, and I also found this situation. When bitcoin rose rapidly, ETH had a decline! I am also confused about this. What caused this?

There is no so much decrease on the price of the altcoin, in weeks they will rise like bitcoin so I think switching from altcoins to bitcoin might not be reasonable.

ETH has had a rough few months, I don't think it's fundamentally deserving of the recent price action but it is a great buy for anyone looking to make an entry.
ETH will always be necessary for several things. Look at ETH as the gateway into new projects.

The number speaks well, but we all know that this is not the end of ethereum. If you able to make effort bringing back the price movements then I think its better also to make a study about the future movement of ETH. If you don’t believe with altcoins now, then you will miss the opportunity to buy more altcoins at a lower price.

It was only a temporary discount for ETH because the increase in Bitcoin caused the alt altogether and ETH to go down dramatically. According to statistics. Average altcoin has fallen about 25% of the previous value. But just a few days later all altcoin and ETH will come up again when bitcoin has been a good price and stop rising.

Last days I've seen the ETH rising among with the BTC (not at the same pace, but it's something), so it's not true that it has been going down while the bitcoin has gone up.

Another thing is that calculated in BTC and not in FIAT, the ETH has lost value, but at least is good to see that the trends have decoupled, it's necessary for the start of the altseason sooner or later, and not the pathetic runs we've seen last months.

Increasing BTC, other altcoin and ETH reduction is very rewarding because the money from altcoin has been transferred to BTC. The market is recovering well so I think there are plenty of opportunities for investors to get a lot of profit in the near future, calm down and watch the market carefully to make the right decision.

I hope many will believe such kind of half truth to sell their ethereum in this dip days so that me and the others who love to buy ethereum can buy as much as they can to welcome the coming bulk run for it.

I don’t see ETH falling. ETH keeps price 460 high price recently 530. Week ago ETH was 400. So I think ETH is doing great enough. Look at xrp, stay at price 0.45 like stone. Even worst.

On the basis of Ethereum, many projects are created, which immediately after the ICO sell the collected funds in this crypto currency and close. Thereby lowering the rate of Ethereum.

Ethereum is always a quiver with the potential to rise in price. At this point, the low prices do not mean that Ethereum will fall. We can see you're only a few dollars down in 24 hours. I think there is nothing to worry about, the price will rise again :)

BTC will always dominate the market. I do not doubt about this. The reference data is only relative and is only meant for reference. ETH is not in good shape at this time. But I believe, ETH will not go down so absurdly. As btc increased, ETH had very poor growth. And that's completely not logic :)

That might be right but it does not reduce the importance of ETH because remember the projects you are talking about are backed by ETH. Besides, in this short duration of three years, ETH has come a long way with a market cap of more than billions of dollars. It might even be a possible threat to Bitcoin in years to come and has almost the same profitability so its importance cannot be avoided. One of the fastest growing coin in fact.

Eth could surpass this current stage that price were falling down. It can fall down further but it will regain to its position. Yes price of eth will be expensive than today so Im not in panic moment.

It is not a secret that Ethereum hardly fall now. IMHO it will recovery and even update ATH again in 2020, but before this, ETH will crash under $ 70 by June 2019. That's why now it is better to stay away from it.

In the crypto-currency market, the same rules apply as in the usual stock market - the shares of some companies become more expensive, others become cheaper. This is a normal process. I am sure That the Ethereum Cryptocurrency has the potential for growth and it will undoubtedly grow. But it will not happen immediately and not quickly.

The considered coin of the future was Bitcoin and not ethereum. It's just used by various ICOs so that made ethereum so quick in progress but I think it will still recover somehow.
Yeah I've heard that they are into some other altcoins for now but if you think that it's not a good time to invest to ethereum now, that's fine. But you might miss the good time of buying now until the price recoveres, don't forget about buying the dip.

there has never been that much of a relationship between bitcoin and altcoins. there are certain rules that happen all the time like for example when bitcoin drops all the altcoins drop and mostly bigger than bitcoin. there is never an exception about this unless some small altcoin that is getting pumped.
during bitcoin rises what usually happens is that altcoins get dumped again. but the USD value of altcoins confuses people in this particular case. for example bitcoin goes up 10% but altcoins drop. sometimes they don't  drop -10% but a small percentage so their USD value because of bitcoin rise doesn't show negative which makes some people believe they have risen where in fact they had a big dump.

We share the same idea bud, though eth is dipping in this bearish market but i think that there is always a time for recovery and we should take the advantage of this situation wherein eth is cheaper than before so buy more so we could profit more when this bearish market is over.

21% fall in 60 days is not a big deal in the crypto market. There is a possibility for the price to go up or down even by 50% in a day. So for me, it looks more like market correction, never fails.

ETH is going to pots right now due to one main important factor: All the ICOS are dumping their ETH so they can run their operations and this is causing a snowball effect in the markets. Also, remember we have been in a bear market since January and as BTC flops every few days to newer lows, that brings ETH and the rest of the market down. I am shying away from holding ETH right now and trying to accumulate tokens and coins that might have more of a deflationary system and a big use case. ETHEREUM has a use case but it is working against itself. If peeps in the ICOS took other currencies, not just ETH, then we might stop this downward spiral of the ETH token price.

Any market can rise but the current state of ETH volatility and how fast it drops has been quite huge and it is usually more like people trying to just give it up for whatever value they can. However, it is market and it is normal to always see trends change at certain points in time, what is important is to know how to utilize such trends to your own advantage. ETH would still recover and there is no doubt about it, but for now, no one actually knows how far it is going to go down.

No one would have. A lot of people speculated we will find a bottom around $500 and then we keep going lower and lower and then we are just ready to drop even lower than $200. This is one thing with market, you absolutely cannot predict the market and the same way some may be worried about how far it is going down now, is the same way they would not take advantage of it to buy it back when it starts showing sign of recovery. I think this is due to the fact that bitcoin is very popular. Investors can withdraw their funds from other cryptocurrencies and invest in bitcoin, expecting that it will grow sharply, as it was in the past. It makes no sense to compare bitcoin with other crypto-currencies, it lives its own life and has its own rules, behavior in the market, which shows the difference in value.

The whole cryptocurrency market is experiencing a fall. This crisis has affected all projects and someone comes out of this state earlier, someone later.
