It woulb be good news,if Samsung accepts crypto payments worldwide,not just in the Baltic countries.
Perhaps they will just test how the system will work in a small region and ,based on the results,they will further implement crypto payments across the EU and globally.

I concur with you on this since Samsung products are available worldwide and it would be convenient to crypto users to try purchase Samsung products using crypto. Hope that they will implement such payment method worldwide in the near future.

and the funny part is the stores in Baltic state do NOT accept bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency payments at all. i don't know where this news even came from. was it the shady service called CopPay trying to scam or gain fake popularity?

Someone just made such post in few days ago based on that same fake news. This is part of the scheme for the cryptoc community to make bitcoins look like future currency which is receiving endorsement from big companies.

bitcoin doesn't need such shenanigans but altcoins do.
not to mention that bitcoin is already being accepted as payment directly by some big names such as Microsoft, Dell,... and there are millions of small merchants all around the world that are accepting bitcoin as payment.

this was either an advertisement for altcoins or an advertisement for that particular service which to be honest seems mostly shady.

not at all. the idea of bitcoin is a lot of things, being anonymous is not one of them.

not to mention that using a payment processor is not changing anything about how anonymous you are. (assuming Samsung accepts bitcoin payments) you would still be going on the same site or same physical shop and make the payment and whether bitcoin directly or through a payment processor you are still providing the same amount of information to that shop. the difference is that using a payment processor (a legit one like BitPay not this crappy one in this fake news) makes it easy for the shops to set it up and also makes it possible for them to receive fiat while accepting bitcoin so they are not affected by the volatility.

Anyways these crypto news sites need to stop churning out articles about the first rumour they have heard of and start double checking their facts and sources. I think this CopPay company wanted to get free publicity by announcing a bogus partnership with Samsung and now when the jig is up they said there had been no such deal haha. When I hear the phrase "Samsung has blah blah blah.." My mind immidiately thinks that most people will not care. But once Apple makes a similar announcement, people gets crazy about it. Ahahaha! But how will Samsung know who has bought what and how are they going to send you your stuff if you have paid with Bitcoin without revealing your name and shipping address? I don't think you could pick your items up at a store without showing your ID card first either.
I doubt Samsung will ever accept Bitcoin as payment directly, because the value is so volatile that it would be a huge liability for them to hold it as is. Payment processors like BitPay minimize the risks for merchants wiling to include Bitcoin in their stores. And anonymous shopping with Bitcoin is a myth by the way.

It is a smart move if not tactical. I think the reason Samsung limited its products has to do with how the governments perceive crypto as payment because otherwise Samsung would have to deal with legal issues.

You are very much right. Am a big fan of SAMSUNG products but my challenge is always getting the original products that have warranty in case of any damage. Once they start collecting Bitcoin for their products, i will be so relaxed to place order of their tablet directly from the official website without fear.

Yes, those countries are lucky. Samsung made a very good decision where facebook is confusing about cryptocurrency, twitter banned crypto ads. I hope within two years, most of the country will have the crypto payment services. The Samsung itself will not accept crypto payment and only its re-sellers have decided to accept crypto payment which i think is not a best move as crypto are very volatile and it could only lead them to losses.

I heard the news before. It’s a great news for this market. Day by day this markets popularity increasing and many companies are accepting this market for payment.

firstly, it must a big brand or a big company that has to accept payments with crypto to gain the trust of everyone. after that, all online stores, could just use crypto as a means of payment.
