How do I determine and invest in something which can turn on in the coming years.Like a person who invested in Bitcoin in 2009(when Bitcoin was less known and popular) had received a huge appreciation in coming years.How to sense and identify that Next Big thing?

 I have found one project that deserves to be invested in - Socratus.  I really like their concept - a platform for insurance companies that was created in order to make the communication between customer and insurance company more convenient and simple. It helps to get read of annoying personal meetings and paper work. With this ecosystem, companies will be able to cut operating costs, create new insurance products, deal with data analysis more efficiently and many other benefits.

I think you should consider the ranking of altcoins at Coinmarketcap that belong to the top 5 cryptocurrency  as your basis in finding the next big thing next to BTC.  That would depend on which alts you pick as long as you had  carefully research each of those coins passed your screening. If I am to select,  I would still go for Eth since this is 2nd to btc.which I believe will next to thrive in the crypto market.

You need to have exceptional knowledge of economics, sociology, science and other fields that can be related to the next big thing. If you'll just throw money at everything new, you'll only lose, because inventions like Bitcoin are one in a million. Of course you can't predict the future with 100% certainty, but you can make very good guesses if you have the knowledge.
But Bitcoin itself it still the next big thing, it hasn't reached its true potential, very few are using it as a currency, so you still can get massive profits in the long run.

Ranking only determines on how much they have in market cap but before they doesn't belong to the top 5 or top 10.

Why people are still looking for that next big thing? aren't you impressed that bitcoin is the only one big thing that is ever living in the crypto community?

Finding new gem is so hard you need to research every detailed of the project, explore in the internet and be patient because theres a lot of altcoin in crypto world but not of them have a long term run or provide a good product that can boom in the future, bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency thats why its boom in the market.

It's hard to say that the "next big thing" will ever be as big as Bitcoin since there's a lot of unique factors that went into Bitcoin's success. However if you want to find good altcoins that will increase significantly over time you'll need to do a lot of research, read a bunch of white papers, and try to parse which ones have the best business models. Try to get in early and put some change and hold on long-term.

If you are thinking about a cryptocurrency then research for a really good ICO. I think if you follow some of the main cryptocurrency influencers on Youtube you will realize some of the techniques and metrics that they use to swift and find gems of ICOs. I think those are the methods that you have to use to find the next big thing like Bitcoins. My personal belief is that it would be very hard to find something like or even that comes close to Bitcons since the later was the World's FIRST ever cryptocurrency! That makes a huge deal for Bitcons!

Bitcoin was almost worthless back in 2009 and it wasn't backed by any company or ICO investors back than and that is actually a reason why it became successful. you think it is done rising or done  being adopted? it is just starting. so far we have only reached less than 1% adoption for bitcoin and there is a very long way to go to reach that mass adoption stage where you can say "ok now it is too late to be an early adopter". otherwise getting in now or next year, or ... for a couple of more years you will still be an early adopter getting in the "next best thing".

as for others, i am sorry to disappoint you but the altcoins are not created to become used. they are created to give short term profit with their pump and dumps so that people who have bitcoin can increase their bitcoin by using newbies.

You can still invest in bitcoin. Its never too late for that. Bitcoin is still so potencial and I know its price will still be growing higher than before. So, just invest in bitcoin still.

I don't think there would be another cryptocurrency that will be as successful as bitcoin or come anywhere near it. ETH proved to be a worthy coin but not enough to challenge bitcoin in supremacy. Perhaps in another asset class, there would be one ending in a fate similar to bitcoin's. It's just so hard to pick what coin is gonna make it big along the piles of trash in the cryptomarket. Some seem to be legitimate only to be pumped and dumped hard. Personally, I'd stay away from investing deeper into obscure names in the cryptomarket and stick with the established ones, particularly ETH.

it is a very lucky person who invests in the year before bitcoin is known for having a very cheap price, and we should also start investing from now and I strongly believe that in the future bitcoin will have a much more expensive price than the price now.

I think much more awarenesses and being much active in our surroundings may lead us to have an ideas and information about the upcoming next big things to bitcoin. unfortunately , the bad news is there aren't any next big thing right now at least within my knowledge ( these things are rate and hard to spot).the good news , you still have the chance to make good profits like 10-50x which isn't bad at all by investing in some alt coins with solid projects and applications.

Maybe you can create something that can't be made now but sell in the future, not just about cryptocurrency.

There’s no big thing like bitcoin again, it’s the ultimate one coin. The market is now diluted and there is no promise for a big thing like bitcoin. I suggest we stop expecting something bigger and support bitcoin whiles it is still affordable.

i dont know what should i invest right now its all depend on the popularity, the team, and the developer programs, if the program will have a huga chnages i think it will makes the big prject in the future, so if you want to invest in a long term you can try to research all project and pick the best one

I think you should look at the Altcoins on coinmarketcap and ask for help from the forum members. Bitcoin prices are not good, so investing in Bitcoin is quite risky. If you have decided to invest in Bitcoin, you should invest in medium or long term, Bitcoin will be high again, but I think it needs some time.

First of all you keep eye on new ICOs.  Check the whitepapers of the projects coming in the market.  Check the prospects of the service proposed to be provided by the ICO.  For the success of their service ; check the track record of the team behind the project.
Check the views of experts on these ICOs.  For this you need to have deep study of economic financial papers and also the information / views available here on this platform. 
Also I will suggest you do not invest in some single coin; select few top good coins.  Invest certain percentage of your surplus money in these coins.  Hope one or few of your selections may become the gems of the future.

Now it will be hard to find really what you need. After all, the capitalization of bitcoin is very big money. Which can not be taken from the wind.

Well, i don't think you are going to see any other cryptocurrency just similar to the bitcoin because no one can match the popularity and the craze of bitcoin with any other cryptocurrency and even the strength and demand of the bitcoin can't be matched with anyone else. But then also in future there may occur a similar cryptocurrency which can beat the Bitcoin's craze and make some new records in the cryptocurrency market.

Nothing is like bitcoin. Still unmatched in value but there are other altcoins out there that can also be trusted. You better observe them and find out for yourself which one has a big potential. Read crypto news, read more crypto articles, check the coin markets/ exchanges and familiarize yourself. Self education and listen also to experts.

It is so hard to find the next big coin like bitcoin personally without the help of other members in this forum. Hard to say what cryptocurrency will be the next big thing because literally there thousands of altcoins out there and you can't monitor all of them. From what I also experience a lot of cryptocurrency outside of the Top 100 or even top 200 market cap comes flying off to the top 10, so if you are looking for a promising cryptocurrency that will give you unbelievable gains you must try and research them a lot as it is really hard to find the next big thing. Sometimes you also don't need the next big thing all you need is the proper cryptocurrency who will also ride the price rally in order to earn.

I think if anyone knows what is the next big thing he/she will not share what it is until that it booms out. But for me, i think that bitcoin is still the next big thing. Simply because bitcoin is the future and it will be used in everything.

What connection do you mean between Soviet and Bitcoin? There is literally no link between the two and the creators of bitcoin. You're chances is to invest in ICOs in which are much affordable to purchase than Bitcoin price of today then buy as much as you could so that luckily if the price will sky rocketing in the future then of course you will earn more than enough that will make you to possibly be rich. Finding another big thing like bitcoins shouldn't be hard if you can make a research into an ICO that looks promising, then there isn't any escuse to prevent you from profiting from the project if it becomes successful.

I understand your desire to know what's the next big project gonna be but it's hard to predict. Cryptocurrency is risky business and you just have to diversify your investment and not to settle for one project.
I'm also like you when I'm starting but as I dig deeper and do researching for that next big coin, I just got tired. I just keep and hodl my bitcoin and swing trade. I no longer looking for it but instead do bounties to acquire tokens that might succeed and just accept that bitcoin is bitcoin, nothing can replace it. The rest, altcoins, will just come second but nothing can replace bitcoin.

You will need to become an expert on this field and you will have to read every single white paper out there and make a very deep research about the projects that you like, that is the only way, you are basically asking how to become a visionary and that can only be accomplished through hard work, but if you are not willing to do that you could invest in bitcoin and get profits without all that effort.

Your still in the midst of the next big thing.  Don't go in search of something you have already found.  I would invest in Bitcoin and hold long term.  The price is going to rise dramatically over time as more and more people get on board.

Stop your dream to see the ext thing more biggest than bitcoin, its will be waste your time to see nothing you can find. Almost last years more innovation to create new coin to stop and could be higher price than bitcoin, but so far not one could stop how the higher of bitcoin price.

Bitcoin only can replace bitcoin not other coin can even go near to that.  If one wants to invest in good crypto then choice is only the bitcoin.  Ether is also one other good coin but it still could not touch bitcoin's height.

why are you still looking for? can't btc meet what you want? maybe there is something better than btc? observing the market at the moment and continuing to learn and read the situation may be used as a guide for you to determine or find out what points will increase in the future, although I am not optimistic that there will be altcoins that can compete or better than BTC, but from all that maybe you can hold on to your luck

The next big thing won't be forseen except by a select few, just like btc. But you can always keep an eye out for something interesting stop trying to find the next "big" thing and just look for what interests you and you will be on the right path don't think so much about money but think more about just enjoying your life and you will be ahead of the game (just my philosophy anyway)

It is all right if you arrived a little late for as long as you can still join comfortably. I also came a bit late but I still made a considerable profit from Bitcoin. The train still has a lot of space available. Everyone can still hop on at this point and become richer in the years to come. I think you should not exert much effort in looking for the next big thing. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Waves, etc. may be big from our perspective right now but they are getting bigger and bigger still.

it is really nothing easy finding the next big thing like bitcoin. lots of research has to be made and also you should be ready to take risk at all times. sometimes we meet some certain things and out of fear we refuse to invest. just make a thorough research online about some investments.
