Which old school cryptocurrency altcoins do you think still have big time potential? Some of the coins with major potential and expectations were power ledger and substratum. Do you think they will still achieve huge success or will the be displaced by similar cryptocurrencies that have entered the market after their introduction? Feel free to comment other oldies but goodies like Basic Attention Token which is on the potential list for addition to coinbase!!!

I think, it is absolutely litecoin. Litecoin has been surviving since the starting of the cryptocurrencies and been in top 5 at marketcap for many days. Litecoin having an average price in all time with having a stable position in the market is a good choice such as  BTC. These are just my assumptions.

Don't just depend on what I say because I can be biased. I started with bancor and genesis vision and they have served me pretty well when I was a newbie in this market. Though there is very less chance of bancor redeeming it's value again but I think genesis vision still has some potential left in them.

Agree with you. One more option is DASH, because it is accepted in many stores in Asia, plus it is stable network with fast speed of transactions. I have heard that in Europe this currency is not so popular, but we know that it is only the beginning of the crypto journey.

However, it is not just the Coinbase exchange that can have a big increase.
At present, it is a bear market, and most altcoin has a big decline. I don't think it is an good investment at present

Of course altcoin will achieve its success again but it applies to most altcoins that are above 50, I am sure that the market there will become saturation in some periods as well as Bitcoin within a few years already passing some of the limitations it will be the same on altcoin, that every people who realize altcoin is too young because Bitcoin has long been on top of cryptocurrency, I still realize that altcoin will be profitable if it is to stay in the next few years, remember this is the starting point of everything, everyone will understand later. :P

I also pick litecoin to be the old but gold. Litecoin has been able to sustain its momentum since its inception, climbing high to the hundreds and never collapsing to a single unit like most altcoins have done. Check the cmc/historical for review. Some coins got to a very good ATH, some in thousands $ but now in the cent range.

Litecoin and Dogecoin. I forgot about those old coins, most of them are forgotten and isn't active anymore.

Like the fate of other altcoins, if there's no volume found it only means that coin is near to its death.
I don't know about stratum and power ledger but before I've heard that power ledger is one of the most talked.

Zclassic began to show a large increase graph. months ago the price of ZClassic is still around 7 $, now it has doubled in price 14 $. I think the next few months Zclassic can get back to the $ 100 price is great if it is added in coinbene,

The classical formula Old Is Gold will not always prove right especially in cryptocurrency, of which success is determined by its work and good management. For instances, you can see numerous old coins that are still lagging behind by many news coins. I think cardano and stellar are good future and are likely to be listed on coinbase.

old is gold this a very known idoms and it is true as well in this market as much time a coin spends in the market that much people will get to know about these, but that doesn't mean new coins doesn't worth trust we should also have the open door for the new arrivals

I think byteball is one of them, but currently it is not receiving much love. Great tech, dag like iota but much better executed and coded. Has smart contracts, and was fairly distributed in the beginning.

Generally old things mean deterioration. People have the highest interest in sustainable things. Similarly, in the crypto market the old currencies will be good. Because old currencies are tested and trusted. I think their future is bright.

I don't know how many years you have spent in the space, but to be naming last year projects has old projects makes me to question how knowledgeable you are of this space. Go and check the coinmarketcap.com in 2015 and check the list of projects in the top 100

I see big opportunity on ethereum and ripple. They are my options to hold for 2 years from now.

dash is nice too. but don't forget monero, he also includes old coins. long before tokens ERC20 exist, these coins are the primary choice for trade

I will choose monero. I like the anonimity because privacy is so important this days where governement wants to be involved in anything you do. So I think this is what we need now, monero as a mainstream payment medium.

I mean it depends on how do you define the currency being old aka how old. ETH is old by some standards, but by some others it could be perceive as being a teenager while BTC being its grandpa. But yea, ETH, Litecoin and some others could be considered as oldies but goldies.

My number 1 oldtimer is still dogecoin. Doge is strong because of his community
traded globally and at least ones a year there is dogecoin massive pump

Power Ledger is not a concurrency. It is or utility token or a security. Probably a security since it started as ICO.  Not sure what substratum is.  I Also know that Power Ledger is from 2017. LOL how old school last year is.

There are lost of old real cryptocurencies. But only few of them have real world use case. One of them is Monero. Monero will always be used because it is fungible while Bitcoin is not. So coins will always stay side by side.

It’s a very tough question considering the current market situation as there is very low chance of accuracy in prediction. Among some old school cryptos, the most potential ones are dentacoin, bancor, polymath, siacoin, genesis vision, digibyte etc. We surely haven't seen the last of these coins and there is more to come. You can hover around the internet to know more about other potential cryptos.

Litecoin and dash are old but gold cryptos for me. They have managed to hold their ground and spot in the market and cryptoworld as a whole regardless of the influx on new coins/tokens with great innovations.

The initial cryptocurrencies will always have big potential to succeed because they are the first to start the business.

well in these market this formula works a lot, as much time a coin spends on the market that much publicity it achieve among the users and it also effect on the price as well so old is gold this statement has validity

For me is Token from exchanger like KCS and BNB. Even though BNB is pretty high right now i think it will rise above $30 in the future.

Those oldschool coins are the most trusted cryptocurrencies as of the moment,they had a very big advantages when bitcoin hits $19k because most of these alts are growing unlike today the financial institutions seems to regulate bitcoin's value which is why new launched coins has less success rate compare to those OLD school coins which most of the time is duplicate of those first generation cryptocurrencies.

My favourite old coins are BITCOIN for sure, Litecoin and ZCASH for privacy. Market is low for every coins so they still have lot of potential grow too!

I think that old coins still have the potential for growth, since the market capitalization of the entire market at the moment is still very low. That's why I keep some of my coins.

There are very few alt coins which are old and still having a good time. I think litecoin will be in the top of this list. It is still one of the top rated alt coins which is really amazing.

Bitcoin is like gold, up and down not too deep, other than that ethereum and litecoin also follow. These coins are old but still alive and the community grows to remain golden.

An old man like bitcoin will always be, I believe. Because thanks to bitcoin, we're all sitting here, aren't we? But the others are not exactly. Someone will create a blockchain tomorrow, much more convenient than Ethereum and that's all. Although, Ethereum will not become less popular from this.

I think when it comes for long time investments Litecoin and Ethereum will always be a good choice. These coins already revolutionized and set standards to crypto, and will never get old.

Bitcoin, ETH, NEO, NEM are the old cryptcurrencies for me that really has a big potential in the future and right now those coins and the team behind of it are doing their best just to make sure to success of their future project.

Old but gold is the right word for bitcoin. having the bitcoin is now as valuable as holding a few gold bars. now the price of bitcoin is far from the first time, and I'm sure there will be many altcoins that follow, especially I believe that ethereum will be the same fate as bitcoin.

actually this statement is very precise. because no matter how old the coins are still in circulation in the market, proven can still rule the market. And this became a reason for we can choose coins for investment.

I heard Stellar (XML) is avery potential coin. the lightling network is build on XML. In face, its price to bitcoin (the satoshi value) has been very stable for a long time.

My vote goes to :
- Eth (smart contract)
- Litecoin (LTC) currently working with HTC mobile company .

alt coin old but gold for me is LTC.
until now the price has remained stable and unlike alt coin the other LTC has great power and enthusiasts.

There are a few projects still around such as VIA, Burst and Boolberry amongst others that have active development going on

I really like a lot of Old Coin but i think they are gold to me cause their feature, their prospect and i don't care if their price are down now.

According to me BITCOIN is a great coin. Old is Gold this line totally suits to Bitcoin. It is a very old and king of coins. It is a brand. It is very useful in long term investment and good potential. Lite coin and Ether um is also a very good.

It's quite tough for old coins to stay in the race. New coins often comes with better technologies and old coins rarely go with the flow. But if you consider litecoin as old coin, it has some great possibilities.

Altcoin cryptocurrency business is old, but this business is very promising and it is true statement from you "old but gold". I think that's a cool statement.

Yes you are right, new coins come out with more innovative ideas and new technologies, and many old coins can not compete properly, but there are those who do not stand still and keep pace with the times.

Monero and  Litecoin are such and should not only be promising, but also to occupy a leading position. I have a monero from the Ico stage and then he did show remarkable results, but what is happening now.

There is a lot of coins that appears in crypto with a good price in the market but don't you see that most of them are copied from the old coins? And someday the coins that copied to other will disappear.

Man they are both bitcoin clones but Litecoin was fairly launched DASH super scammy. They made 10 times faster launch first day and mined millions DASH in one day basically for free. Then switched back to slower schedule.  Then they added masternodes so those scammy premine started giving them masternode reward, so more free coins. More then  half dash coins in existence right now come from that first day planed scam.   Dash is bullshit not Gold.   Ofcourse they cry that was mistake. But how can be a mistake to start x10 but then decide to switch back. They should just leave x10 emission schedule and would be all fine. But if that would be the case they would dump their coins long ago and forgot about dash and plan some other scam.

Yes this is a very interesting concept these exchange coins. When you at it their really some of the few coins that are attached to established companies with a steady source of considerable income and predictable growth. Binance is expanding so rapidly that their potential growth is astronomical. But Kucoin in particular creates and rare investment opportunity with their Kucoin incentive program. For that reason I am long holding Kucoins not only for potential growth of my initial purchase and the growth of my daily rewards but the the anticipated spike in daily reward amounts caused by an increase in trading volume in the future.

Well of course to bet on old coins : but we must not forget about the future. And be ready to accept new coins that can break all records of its effectiveness in the crypto industry

You are talking about old school cryptucurrency and your example is Basic Attention Token?
Basic Attention Token is traded only for few months  ;D. Oldschool coins in top 100 are only Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin (this one is not good :D)

Dogecoin, monero and litecoin never gets old and they are underrated today.

These coins I mentioned though I don't have big basket on those, I think they still have a big potential to cope up with the other popular coins.

Just open Historical Chart on CMC https://coinmarketcap.com/historical and look on top of 2014 for example. Half of them aren't in top now.

You are right, there are coins that continue to evolve and improve, but most old coins still can not compete with new the most technological coins. And it is true.

I agree, I am sure that they will maintain their positions in the future. They've been in my portfolio for a long time.

I think Ethereum and neo will continue their successful existence and development.And in the future they will be successful.

Ether, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ripple I don't know about when they were invented and developed but I can say that those are the top coins that I have in my wallet and I have put My Hope On them as well as holding them.

I think old school will have better perform, because there are proven technology and product. But who know, crypto is a area of surprises, so maybe even now we have a new "boom" project at the market, but no one care about it. Let's see what future have for us.
