Hello Bitcoin Talk community!

We've added support for:

  • cryptodredge
  • trex

No closed source binaries.  You'll only need 1 application so Foreman can work for you, and you can build that yourself, if desired, directly from our github:  https://github.com/delawr0190/foreman-apps

Slowly, but surely, our Discord community is growing and we're receiving tons of feedback.  Join us in our beta testing so we can build exactly what you all need.   :)

Hey guys,

Can you add support for JCE miner too?

We sure can!

Is there any way that you can hop on our Discord so that I can make sure that we're building exactly what you need?  It looks like it provides both CPU and GPU mining.  :)

Discord:  https://discord.gg/hD7txYN (https://discord.gg/hD7txYN)

I will be on there in about 3 hours.  I'm "Lambor".  Shoot me a PM and I'll respond to you there as soon as possible.

We've added support for:

  • Antminer D3
  • Antminer E3

In addition, we made some modifications to our dashboard to facilitate monitoring large-scale operations.  You may now toggle between our traditional card-based view (https://storage.googleapis.com/foreman-prod-media/forum_images/cards.png) and a sortable datatable (https://storage.googleapis.com/foreman-prod-media/forum_images/table.png).

Title: Re: [Foreman] Monitor your miners remotely
Post by: obm_dan on August 03, 2018, 04:32:11 AM
We've added support for:

  • jceminer (GPU mining only)

The next projects that we will be working on for Foreman are:

  • Site separation (mining in multiple different locations - we want to let you group miners by site and view the dashboard that you see now on a per-site basis, along with a global dashboard).
  • Web-based configuration of our metrics extractor (pickaxe) (no more editing pickaxe.yml and adding miners - instead, add on the web and pickaxe will download on each run).
  • Improved alerting conditions (customizable triggers).
  • Text alerting.

We will continue to prioritize adding support for new miners that users request. Helping you keep your rigs online is the most important thing for us.   :)

Post by: obm_dan on August 04, 2018, 07:09:41 AM
Did I mention that our miner metrics extractor can run on both Linux and Windows? :)

You got your rigs up and running already. Why reinstall an operating system just for monitoring? That’s where we come in.

Monitoring at your fingertips. Monitoring with Foreman!

Thanks for the interest!

I went ahead and approved the pending beta accounts.  If you don't have an email in your inbox by now, PM me here the email address that you signed up with and I'll check what happened.

We're still smoothing things out (this is early beta testing), so if you have any trouble at all, please hop on our Discord:  https://discord.gg/hD7txYN

If you think you're doing something wrong, don't!  It could be us - and that's the feedback that we're looking for!   :)

What a busy day!  We've added support for:

  • Baikal ASICs
  • sgminer (and forks)
  • lolminer
  • claymore-xmr
  • claymore-zec

Still uncertain if Foreman is for you?  Luckily, we're a monitoring tool that you can run with your existing rig.  No USB operating system needed.  We call it minimally invasive.  Download a zip, extract, add your miners, and you're up and running!  If you don't like it - delete the folder and everything is back to the way that it was.  ;D

We've added support for:

Happy mining.  ;D

Wondering if we're still accepting beta testers?  Well...we are!  8)

From your private dashboard, Foreman lets you see your miners wherever you are.  Have one miner?  Have thousands?  We welcome everyone to participate - we appreciate the feedback, and it keeps us busy!

We've added support for:

  • xmrstak

We've been live for less than 2 weeks, and in that time, we've added support for over 20 miners.  We're active - shouldn't your rigs be?  Foreman helps solve that.

We're currently in the process of implementing a simplified flow to help our users get up and running quickly (download, install, and go).  As developers, we listen to what our users say.  Let your opinion be heard - join our beta test so we can build exactly what you need.  ;D

Hi Igotek.  ;D

YML can be tricky to write. I believe that the issue you’re having is that you’re missing a “-“. Can you give this a shot?

Code:
baikal:
  - name:    "Baikal X10"
    apiIp:   "192.168.1.33"
    apiPort: 4028

The example in pickaxe.yml has the "-". It can be very easy to remove, though. In the next update that we are looking to roll out soon, pickaxe can be configured from the dashboard. This will eliminate the property file configuration process. :)

Here's how it would look for an X10:  preview (https://storage.googleapis.com/foreman-prod-media/forum_images/baikal.png)

Please let me know if you have any more trouble.  More than happy to help!

We are officially live with our next big release!!

We’ve drastically simplified the setup process for Foreman. Now, you can be up and running in minutes! And even better - once you’re up and running, you have full control from the dashboard. Never edit a configuration file ever again!

Over the next two days, we will be validating the release based on feedback from our current users. From there, we will begin approving account applications again. Feel free to sign up for our beta now, though, so you can be first on the list!

Stay tuned!!  ;D

We are accepting new beta testers once again!

Here are some updates regarding what we've been working on:

  • Migrated to a web-based configuration of our miner metrics extractor utility (add miners to your private dashboard with the click of a button).
  • Added a 'Getting Started' interactive checklist to guide new users through getting their first miner online.
  • Fully documented all required miner API arguments to ease the setup process (see exactly what you need to provide to your miner so 'pickaxe' can communicate with it).
  • We now integrate with rigs running HiveOS.
  • We now integrate with rigs running ethOS.
  • Added support for sgminer-gm.
  • Added support for sgminer-avermore.
  • Added support for t-rex API 1.1 parsing (t-rex version > 0.6.1, but we are backwards compatible with older versions).

Have any questions?  Stop by our Discord (https://discord.gg/hD7txYN)!  We can help!

I just installed Foreman on one of my Farms and am adding miners to the program.  Getting it installed was a little bit of a difficult task, but now that I am past the installation and I have the finished product:

I LOVE IT!

The Dashboard is Very Nice.

I can see all of the critical / detailed information for each of the miners in a group or individually on the "Miners" page.

I will add more miners onto the Foreman and see how it goes.  Right now, I am very excited and enjoy the product! Great Job obm_dan!!!!!!

Note: to run in the background, install and start as a service

To do that:

- run 'service-start_RUN_AS_ADMIN.bat' to start
- run 'service-stop_RUN_AS_ADMIN.bat' to stop
- run 'service-remove_RUN_AS_ADMIN.bat' to uninstall

Love the page builder!

Would be awesome to be able to split the "current/min/max hashrate" per miner. Now it shows total but I am mining raven on 1 miner and etc on a other miner. Now it just adding up those different miners. And a 24h hashrate would be very nice too!

Are there any plans on a ios app?

Thanks for all the hard work!

Title: Re: Foreman: monitor your miners remotely!
Post by: obm_dan on November 13, 2018, 12:36:21 PM
Thank you so much for the feedback, Porrit!  :)

After chatting with you, we'll be implementing a configurable block that will let users select an algorithm to display as a 24h hashrate.  That will let you have multiple blocks on your dashboard, each showing a different average hash rate by algorithm.

Regarding the iOS app, we will be creating mobile apps.  Our web site is fully responsive right now (mobile friendly), so hopefully that works as a temporary solution.

Using a miner that we don’t support? Let us know and we’ll add it!

Our goal is to make it easy for you to see how your operation is performing. Isolate troublesome pools and overheating miners quickly with Foreman. ;D

We've implemented the ability to perform a bulk import of miners into Foreman through the use of our new utility:  Prospector (https://github.com/delawr0190/foreman-prospector).

Have a farm with lots of ASICs?  Prospector lets you add them all at once, and you don't have to do a thing. ;D

supervision in mine is indeed necessary. and this is a good system to monitor the results of mining for the better. Foremen of this being the best solution for the miners to be more optimally in mining. This kind of oversight would be able to make the control of mine became more comfortable.

We’ve added a new filtering capability to the dashboard!  Now you can apply global filters to restrict the information that's displayed on each page.  Want to see your dashboard view, but only for ASICs?  Apply an ASIC filter!  Want to see your earnings, but only for a specific site?  Apply a Pickaxe filter.  Have a typo in a pool and want to find the miner with the bad entry?  Filter by the pool URL.  And much more!

Sign up and master your mining. https://foreman.mn (https://foreman.mn)

I'm very proud to announce that we officially support MiningRigRentals.

From Foreman, see your miner health, status, temperatures, when you're rented, and how much you're making.  Curious if you're making more when you're rented vs. when you're not?  Check your Earnings graph, which overlays the two, making it clear!

All in one place, so you don't have to check several sites to see how your operation is performing.

;D

hello,

nice API, I really like it.

just something annoying:
when a rig has rebooted, even when I went to details, it is still in red, and the dash board still signal a problem.
I don't understand how to say to the API "I saw it, now go all back to green".
Sometimes it works, sometimes not, I d'ont understand how this work.

thx

Hi Dark!

As of right now, reboots change your miner to FAIL immediately when they’re detected. 5 minutes after the reboot, it changes to WARN. And 15 minutes after that, back to green.

We will add the ability to dismiss alerts. That will make it so you can acknowledge them and get things back to green right away.

Thank you for the input! ;D

As part of our configurable dashboard, we've added a new 'MRR Rentals' block, which allows users to view all of their currently active rentals on MiningRigRentals.

This will centralize your miner monitoring and rental monitoring, letting you see how much you've made from rentals and also allow you to monitor your advertised hash rate vs. your average hash rate all in one place.  The first step towards a more integrated MRR user experience!  ;D

Over the last month, we've:

  • Significantly improved our alerting platform to include notifications on a per-miner basis
  • Added alerting history on a per-miner basis to facilitate troubleshooting
  • Added support for the monitoring of swarm (autoprofit switcher)
  • Added support for the monitoring of iximiner
  • Added support for the monitoring of whatminer m20s
  • Added support for the monitoring of the bw-l21
  • Refactored our agent distribution to offer both full and min releases (full contains dependencies to ease setup)

Still using the old NiceHash platform?  No problem - our integration works with both platforms, giving you the freedom to mine wherever's the most profitable.

In addition to this update, we've also:

* Added support for all Obelisk miners.
* Added support for HyperBit miners.
* Added support for FutureBit miners.
* Added support for latest Innosilicon miners.
* Added support for latest Avalon miners.
* Added support for latest Antminer miners.
* Simplified pickaxe.yml configuration file.
* Bumped Jackson version to address CVEs.

Foreman just implemented on some of the CWI machines ...

And I can say it seems to be working flawlessly. Job well done guys.

Is there a functionality of forced reboots planned for machines (ASIC currently) so that we can restart ASIC systems that seem to have 'failed' from the Foreman DashBoard? A bulk renaming Function for the miners also?

I did have to change the PickAxe installation so very slightly for installation into RedHat based Fedora 32. I wish you all would use 'Distribution of Linux- xxx' rather than just 'Linux' (something I have been complaining about for a decade now in the Crypto Industry) when describing the Linux Installs. Debian/Ubuntu does NOT = Linux. It is merely a distribution of Linux, yet you have that in your 'Installing PickAxe' Menu system and HowTo Guide for 'If you're trying to monitor ASICs from Linux', whereby the actual installation script is a Debian Based specific installation script.

It is a very small change and possibly something that you would want to implement in your script for PickAxe installation for those of us that have RedHat Based installations rather then Debian Based installations. I assume it is the same from your other 'Linux' Install Guide also.

Other than that, when it runs, this package is superb so far.

Thank you for the feedback, crysx.

I went ahead and updated our Linux installation process to fix the issue that you were observing. I updated our documentation, as well, to reflect this change.  Now, the same script should work for both environments - I've tested against fresh Ubuntu and RHEL VMs and it now seems to be working as intended.  Thank you for letting us know about this.

The next feature that's currently in the works is remote rebooting, which can be triggered from the dashboard.  We just released the ability to remotely change pools, and that put in place the framework for rebooting.  This will be released soon.

I've put bulk renaming towards the top of our backlog.  We're intending to do a template-based approach for this so you can rename multiple ASICs or rigs at the same time to follow a similar pattern (example: obm-s19-${counter}, or obm-s19-${ip.last}). The templating is still tbd, but we'll provide a lot of predefined variables so all of the miners can be bulk selected and renamed in 1 swoop.

Please let us know if you have any more feedback.  We love it.  :)
