I caught the spike, but I had just <5 mins earlier moved my sell order from $4.42 to $4.25 (which I rarely do), so I got shafted a little. But hey, a little profit is better than a little loss! When that doesn't happen, it's because someone has cash trapped in the wrong exchange. I suspect that one or more of the trading 'bots ran out of money, and as a result, volatility went up. With the better funded 'bots off line, there are more spikes. Humans react too slowly to damp them. No big deal. It's not a rally.
