The title says all!

I'm not sure if anyone did this survey before or not. If is there any please let me know below... I will lock the thread.

If not, then let's do the survey and find a solution together. I hope Theymos will take the survey into his consideration.

This is actually quite a good idea.
However I sense many people who have no response for a week or two will click the latter option :( so if you can find a way to rephrase that then it'd be good...

Maybe "never got my account back and waited more than 30 weeks"?

I think to wait for a year to get back a hacked account ultimately its a "Never got back my account"

Any suggestion is welcome.



The survey actually is for those who already got back their account by waiting X time.
It is not for those members who did not get a response or still hoping to get back the account. Maybe I should add one more option "still waiting for response"

The main purpose of this survey is to find out how long or average time takes to get back the hacked account. By that result we together can find a solution if Theymos shows interest though.

Theymos is probably overworked.  I'm sure he gives priority to users that contribute to the community.

If you have used your account every now and then for a few years, or have an account that just shitposts, don't expect him to jump to help you.

OP, theymos doesn't prioritize account recovery too much. Imagine getting 100s of PMs if not 1000s of them everyday, and spending n amount time on recovery. He should delegate these tasks, but he doesn't find people trustworthy as much.

I didn't found correct answer in poll. I waited 3 days for account recovery:

Back then I felt that I'm waiting weeks, not few days for account recovery. But later I realized how lucky I'm to recover account only after few days when others waiting months or years without any response.
Now I'm not sure that admins are still recovering accounts. I haven't saw posts from Cyrus and theymos (at least in public) about recovered accounts. I also haven't saw users saying that their account was restored recently...

That was probably one of the last ones he's recovered (or publicly at least). I guess higher ranked accounts will take on a higher priority or grab their attention more than all the faceless others that lose their accounts, but right now I don't think accounts are getting recovered at all. Last I spoke to cryus he said they were 'working on a new system' to recover accounts. I asked if that meant he's not recovering accounts at all in the meantime and got no response. Make of that what you will.

I am waiting since end of 2017  :-X

It would be interesting to consider both possible states of account recovery in the survey: ‘recovered after x time’ (recovered) and ‘been waiting for x time’ (in process of recovery).

Of course there are time factors to consider here:

- recovery time differs over time (now it is longer that a year ago for example and so on).
- rank probably has it’s weigh (I wonder if Vod’s recognition ranking does too ...)
- for the  ’been waiting for x time’  to work, the timeframe of the survey should be small, since the value ages conceptually every week that goes by waiting for the account recovery.
