Title: Buying/selling fixed matches through gambling section - is it allowed?
Post by: avikz on August 06, 2018, 08:58:19 AM
Dear Members and Moderators,

While going through the threads of "Gambling discussion" I found few threads talking about buying/selling fixed matches. I believe such kind of attempts encourage scam and also not legal in any way.

For your reference I have given the links below,

Thread 1: I look for fixed games
Link: https://web.archive.org/web/20180806084920/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4614321.0

Thread 2: ITF TENNIS FIXES
Link: https://web.archive.org/web/20180806085026/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4813440.0

Thread 3: ITF MATCH - tennis fix
Link: https://web.archive.org/web/20180806085144/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4491356.0

Earlier also I found some topics similar to the above topics and I reported to moderators for deleting those. But it seems like popping up every now and then. While searching more about it, I found we don't have rules framed for the same reason. The actions are taken only based on the reporting. Now my questions are,

1. Is it allowed?
2. If not, can we please frame a rule to stop such topics?

I believe buying/selling fixed matches is illegal activity and encourages scam. Would like to hear what the old and experienced members are thinking about it and the possible ways to stop it.

Thanks,
Avikz

Nobody on this forum is knowledgable about match fixing in sport. Nobody here controls the results of sporting events.

No, it's not allowed. Report them and they'll be removed. Most of them are just chancer scammers anyway.

There is no such thing. Obviously sport outcomes are being manipulated but why would someone sell a fixed match for x amount of $ if he can just bet on it himself and try to stay under the radar?

Let me share a system that many scammers use.
They will find a match where there is no clear favourite. Lets say the odds for a home win are 2.85, away win is 2.75 and a draw is 3.30. You will get the 1st match for free and they will ask you to pay after match end.
For a football match there are 3 possible outcomes. 1 group is asked to bet on home win, another on an away win and the 3rd on a draw.
After the match ends they contact only the group that received the winning prediction.
Some people will pay because they think that the info the scammers had is legit.

They will promise you more profit next time and anounce a new match soon.

For the next match you will have to pay upfront, they tend to make excuses that their partners/clients require money upfront for that particular match. Only the group who received the winning prediction for match 1 gets conntacted and again they are divided in three groups with each group getting different predictions. Once the match ends its the same thing all over again.

This works even better in sports where there are only 2 possible outcomes but it is much harder to find even odds in those sports.

Dont believe in things like this. It is to good to be true.

Regarding same board, I notice some members are posting referral links in their threads and to my knowledge ref links are only allowed in signature. Since I report some of such post and nothing is not happen for long time maybe that board have some specific rules ?

A few examples :

Don't be so nieve , Sports fixing is rampant in today's world with all the money that is up for grabs.  It goes a lot deeper than you think.
