Title: New SSD, New bitcoin client Post by: lolmiepp on October 15, 2011, 07:04:30 PM Hey Guys,
I know this is a stupid question, but since i don;t know for sure i'll just ask it: I am upgrading my pc with a new ssd :), so i'll install a new windows. is it enough to just copy my wallet and then paste it on the new bitcoin client on the new OS? or should i store the bitcoins on an online wallet, and just send them to my new bitcoin client? (which online wallet is trustworthy?) Thanks for the help! Title: Re: New SSD, New bitcoin client Post by: Andrew Vorobyov on October 15, 2011, 07:07:52 PM 1. exit client.
2. explorer %APPDATA%\BitCoin 3. copy wallet.dat 4. Re install windows. 5. Re install Bitcoin software. 6. Place backed up wallet.dat to %APPDATA%\BitCoin 7. Run bitcoin with "-rescan" option Title: Re: New SSD, New bitcoin client Post by: lolmiepp on October 15, 2011, 07:11:40 PM Thank you for the really fast help!
