Title: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members Post by: vphasitha01 on August 07, 2018, 04:10:24 PM I can't wait to get my PC back online to play a little with your database. I just want to list all the users with 9 , 99, 249,... etc. merit and some other fun stats. This is the motivation where I started to think about why we can't scraped the Merit data which iasenko (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1291828) searched, from available data in Bitcointalk Merit dashboard (https://public.tableau.com/profile/ddmrddmr#!/vizhome/BitcointalkMeritDashboard/GlobalSummary),prepared by DdmrDdmr (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1582324) (I called him as stat guru in bitcointalk forum :D). So then he guided me how should I do this work. I manually scraped those stats from "Ranking-up pipe line tab" in the Merit dashboard. This list of members were tabulated according to the latest data available as at 30th July 2018 and I will update this thread when Merit data dashboard updated by "DdmrDdmr". Update 10 - List of Members were updated from the latest data available 19th October 2018 Notenew - Already Ranked Up Members (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4839318.msg46654792#msg46654792) List of Members in the Ranking-up pipe line
Note 1 - Table created by using [BETA]Signaturion - forum signature interactive editor (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4687455.0) by axicron (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1358575) Note 2 - I only considered members having more than 90% of Merits & 100% required activities in order to rank up Title: Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members Post by: Jet Cash on August 07, 2018, 04:18:02 PM I've just given bob123 6 merit - which is what he needs to rank up.
I'll have a look at some of the others in a minute Title: Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members Post by: TheBeardedBaby on August 07, 2018, 04:22:02 PM This was the project I never accomplished but wanted to do.
Thanks for this. I'll check those accounts, as soon as I can :) Title: Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members Post by: LoyceV on August 07, 2018, 04:52:03 PM Isn't this list (http://loycevsbasement.privatedns.org/Merit/all_users_who_earned_Merit_2018-08-03_Fri_15.33h.txt) much easier to scrape those users?

This list(which I scraped from DdmrDdmr) is complete. I think you missed the Note - 2 in my post at the bottom ;)The ones with 9 Merit got me thinking: I don't think this list is complete, right?[/url] Quote I count 203 accounts with 9 Merit, and 1850 accounts with 10 Merit. That can't be a coincidence, does it mean 8 out of 9 Members have been trading Merit? Yeah that's an interesting stat, I think we should analyse more before getting to any conclusion.( I am a believer of Merit trading users also to be tagged if staff can identify clear cut cases)Quote I couldn't resist, here's more data (based on last Friday's Merit data dump. I think you missed the Note - 2 in my post at the bottom ;) I didn't miss it, but I didn't interpret it correctly either.Quote And also I think you missed one part when you list down Merit transaction data. The initial Merit (airdoped Merits) also considered when I listing above members. You're right (again!). But that makes the difference even more interesting. I only checked a few accounts, but I think it's safe to say:Most accounts that received 9 Merit are high ranking already. Most accounts that received 10 Merit are Members. Many accounts "earned" just enough Merit to Rank up. That can't be a coincidence. There are some users on the list who consistently make shitposts, and they're shit out of luck. I'm happy to give merits to members who need them to rank up, but only if they're worthy.
Great thread; I'm going to bookmark it and check back when I have more sMerits to give. Gave some merit to the ones I though they deserve but big part of the list are just shiposters. I wonder how they ended up gaining 9 merit.
For the higher ranked members I have not enough merit to fill them so, I give the opportunity to the others to do it. I really hope this thread will be stay updated like, every week or so. so we can spread some merit to those who deserve. It's all here. By this post, are we encouraged to read through their posts to know if they are worthy of merit, or are we to give merit on compassion? It's just like 50/50 . I think we can see there post history and see wether actually they deserved to be Merited and rank up. In the other hand don't waste your sMerits for shitposters just because of only them needed one or two Merits. The latter is a bit easier to browse due to space dedicated only to TXs. Title: Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members Post by: vphasitha01 on August 09, 2018, 06:24:31 AM Great post. For Jr member, they can apply Here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4461881.0). Other member I will try to help here by maximum 2 merit if need and if deserve it. Just now I checked one his profile with shit post. So I am not interested to send merit shitposter. Thanks for your compliment. That's a tricky one for answering. So I would like to know where should I draw the line of "being active" and "Not being active"?Btw I will keep in eye here. If I can help some one sure I will do. I will request to OP exclude some member who isn't active long time. I observed that most of the names on the list make most comments in announcement thread. I wonder what quality contribution you will make to an announcement post. yeah agreed, I only filtered the data. So I will add a separate column or colour for my next update to identify shitposters and members who are not active. Isn't that cool? and that will avoid wasting the time of other members who actually looking for members, truly deserved to be ranked. I am also a believer of Merits should not be given to the ANN threads or posters who post there frequently. Note - I hope you're talking about the most of the Jr. Members who appear in the list. Title: Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members Post by: The Sceptical Chymist on August 09, 2018, 05:11:43 PM I'm trying to help some of these members, but it looks like a lot of them post in sections I have blocked--namely Bitcoin Discussion, Economics, and Altcoin Discussion. Some of the posts I am able to view are short, one-line garbage.
Going to keep looking through posts from these members to see if I can facilitate some ranking up. Right now, though, it doesn't look like there are a lot of worthy posts to be merited. Edit: I have a few sMerits to give. If there's anyone right at the borderline who's deserving of a merit or two, drop me a PM and I'll see if I agree with you. Can you list who gave the missing merit to rank-up to those who ranked up to Full Member and above? I guess if you list the ones that move from jr. member to members will be quite a long list, but you can do it too if you want. P.S. I just turned another Full to Sr. Member, ( btw Congrats mdayonliner) and I love it :) I can't wait to get my PC back online to play a little with your database. Comparing to the number of users with 11 Merit and more, I would expect at most 30 users with 10 Merit. That would mean 5 out of 6 bought their Merit. certainly shows the 10 Merit group as outliers of the surrounding norm, although I did somewhere post that multiples of 5 are much more likely to be given in TX than the surrounding numbers (i.e. 10 is much more likely than 8,9,11,12) , with the exception of 1,2 and 3 sMerit TXs if I recall properly what I wrote. From your list: 185 users have 10 Merit 20 users have 11 Merit 13 users have 12 Merit 10 users have 13 Merit As expected, the majority of the list has exactly 10 Merit, which makes it very likely they don't really deserve it. Comparing to the number of users with 11 Merit and more, I would exact at most 30 users with 10 Merit. That would mean 5 out of 6 bought their Merit. <...> The issue is really using this to prove with certainty rather that probability, and then the fact that the penalty is red-tagging at most unless ties to other offences can be made or connections to fraudulent alts. I went through a couple randomly and it’s not easy to discern. A few of them had positive trust of a kind, another was awarded by a legendary also with quite a bit of trust, that awarded 10 sMerits to multiple accounts, etc. Title: Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members Post by: fonship on August 14, 2018, 02:24:04 AM would be interesting to see how many members have the merits and not the activity to rank up.. myself (come on theymos - give me legendary) - but I imagine there will be a few other outliers as well Quickly derived from the Dashboard, based on awarded sMerits: * 3 Heroes pending move to Legendary: TMAN (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=98986), hilariousetc (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=397737), Last of the V8s (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=479624) (all have the minimum activity -> in the range of 775 and 1030 and enough merits). Since activity is a range, I guess we can’t be sure when the exact moment of up-ranking will take place. * 10 Sr. Members lacking Activity (not Merit) to get to Hero: joniboini (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1275282), micgoossens (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1067333), xtraelv (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=897509), GameKyuubi (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=26945), krogothmanhattan (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1000199), Piggy (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=188198), RichDaniel (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=886352), RuSS512 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=979216), Hell-raiser (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=355801), jimmyk (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=102470) * 8 Full Members lacking Activity (not Merit) to get to Sr. Member: DdmrDdmr (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1582324), sncc (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1560793), theyoungmillionaire (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1180530), bitmover (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1554927), zentdex (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1331637), laszlo (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=143), pitipawn (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1076869), zeded (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=105837) * 9 Members lacking Activity (not Merit) to get to Full Member: 1miau (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2143453), ChardsElican28 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1692227), doudou1110 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1206752), etherclassic (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=958248), choubao0514 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1206705), Story777 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=259870), tam31 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1138263), Technor (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1134109), pafu (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=25731) (strange case) * 311 Jr. Members or less lacking Activity (not Merit) to get to Member (long list). That parked account is also from 2014 only with 50 activities. Now lets not pretend that merit system works, only good people are suffering. I only picked one account from above list. Now what action will be taken against such legendary members? If so I'm more than happy to give you the first Merit. So post your best shot for me or other members. However you better to "read" sticky notes in the boards and always try to use "search" function before posting. Because truth is little bitter who wants to take steps to improve system, everyone is busy getting merits afterall, thats why i hate this merit system bcoz people planning actions which can give them merits. This include write more about merit itself, making new thread, doing analysis about merit, interact on meta threads. It's obvious you're posting with an eye on the number of characters--obviously for your campaign minimum. Don't you think you ought to improve your writing instead of whining about not ranking up? Put a little more effort into your posts and somebody might give you some merits, but what you're doing now is obviously not working. Also, when you're quoting a post, reply underneath it. That's the forum standard and I'm not sure why you haven't picked up on that. If they would have earned their Merit through honest means, I would expect about the same number of users with 10 Merit as with 11 Merit. From your list: 185 users have 10 Merit 20 users have 11 Merit 13 users have 12 Merit 10 users have 13 Merit ~ Yes I've found a lot of them abused with friends or even their main account, some cases are still reported here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2896910.200 but since we have have a small number of cases where DT put a red tag on abusers, I've simply stopped to report those "small" merit abuses, it takes hours to find all of them and basically for nothing. You can do the same with 100 and 250 merits, you will probably find the same % where the x00 number is dominant, and not is not a coincidence. I checked fine99 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=917021)'s merit history (http://loycevsbasement.privatedns.org/Merit/history/917021.html), and I wouldn't be surprised if he bought his 245 Merits. I don't think this post for example (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2097334.msg22839881#msg22839881) deserves 50 Merit. He's already tagged by Staff member dbshck (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=153634) for merit abuse. He's also on my ignore list, which most likely means he's been spamming one of my giveaway campaigns with invalid entries and/or multiple accounts (about 2 years ago). The plot thickens: the post under his post with 50 Merit, which was made less than 3 minutes later, is also on my ignore list. So my question is: should users with likely merit abuse be on the RUPL? Title: Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members Post by: Shitcointalk on September 01, 2018, 07:56:00 AM Congrats to your new rank vphasitha01, you just got the key to the ivory tower !
And thanks for adding me to your list. I didn't want to show up here as I don't want to beg for sMerit (which imo kind of defeat the whole point). Quote I checked fine99 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=917021)'s merit history (http://loycevsbasement.privatedns.org/Merit/history/917021.html), and I wouldn't be surprised if he bought his 245 Merits. I don't think this post for example (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2097334.msg22839881#msg22839881) deserves 50 Merit. He's already tagged by Staff member dbshck (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=153634) for merit abuse. I also think it's clear cut case and he should be red tagged by DT member. So I think it's better to remove those Merit abuse users and inactive users(not active last 3 months) from my list since it will save the time of other members who willing to spend their sMerits. He's also on my ignore list, which most likely means he's been spamming one of my giveaway campaigns with invalid entries and/or multiple accounts (about 2 years ago). This thread is not a place where you beg for Merits, but for giving little help for members who actually deserved to be ranked up and I think you're one of them. I'm hoping that you will be ranked up sooner(you deserved it). Sometimes gaining the last few Merits to ranked up is the toughest and in my case LoyceV ease that path for me.Title: Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members Post by: The Cryptovator on September 02, 2018, 01:37:30 PM I think Zapo (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2015835) deserve full member rank. I've created a thread about it here: Has the Merit faucet dried up? Solutions? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4502448.0). I was a Jr. Member when the merit system was implemented so, I got 0 merit from the start but I was able to gain all of my current merit and managed to rank up to Full Member before having the necessary activity. Not sure what happened all of a sudden, now I have the necessary activity but I'm lacking merit... I believe I am posting the same way I did it in the past, but it seems my posts go unnoticed. If you guys have time, take a look at my post history and let me know if I'm doing anything wrong. If I remember correctly you stated with 0 merit, right? So more than 170 is quite an achievement and 80 more should't be so big barrier. I'm pretty sure that i'm gonna see you on this list soon. Back to the OP, You need to update the merit scores. BTW How often you do that? I have some merit left but I cant find anyone deserving. The distribution has since been decreasing, and a possible reason for that is that Merits are cut into half when given away, because the receiver only gets to give away 1 sMerit after receiving 2 Merits which have probably caused the existing sMerits to shrink somehow. As soon as more Merit Sources are chosen, that amount would gradually increase, hopefully. Other than that, the posts that are constructive or even mildly constructive are unnoticed because of the spam that is posted after them which covers them up, and a person carrying sMerits to give away don't get to see them unless they care to surf multiple pages in search of a post worth Meriting. And that is very big reason why some people being constructive enough are lacking Merits. To @OP, A little shameless self-promotion-- Is it possible for a person to get a place in the list if he lacks more than 10 Merits to rank up? :P Title: Re: [RUPL] Ranking-Up Pipe Line of Forum Members Post by: Nikisa on September 16, 2018, 07:54:16 AM To @OP, A little shameless self-promotion-- Is it possible for a person to get a place in the list if he lacks more than 10 Merits to rank up? :P Already implemented here: Forum chronicle - UP Rank List (BPIP statistics, trust, who is who) Full Member Ranking-up pipeline:

Thank you for adding me to the list. I was hoping to get listed in this list (where we are posting right now) because I thought it has more active members which may help me a little bit to get the required Merits to rank up. This is why Theymos ought to create ranks higher than Legendary--or at least do something to commemorate X number of merits or X number of activity. (no, I don't need to be on the list, it just felt like something worth mentioning without being worth a new topic) I used to think it was going to be a major problem when the influx of newbies started to rank up based solely on activity. That would have allowed anyone to reach Legendary rank simply by meeting an activity quota. Now, however, the chances of the average newbie ever reaching even Hero status seem infinitesimal. On-topic: I'll take a look through the list of members who are close to ranking up. I'm glad such a list exists, because just randomly going through threads and members' post history is a huge waste of time. You already posted the same post in the Turkish board with your Türkçe language after 2 minutes you have posted in this thread. The thing I didn't get is why you used the google translator to translate the English content into Turkish. I assume you're a Turkic. Link - Google translated content (https://imgur.com/iO2BkFy) If you are here to learn, you are not holding back by anyone even the new merit requirement. Speaking about learning we all are not too late to learn. We all are learning from womb-to-tomb. Merit is not something you win, but the appreciation that you get from others for the contribution you have made. It doesn't need to be a marvellous one, but posting quality stuff will eventually gain merits.
